Sue, you are such a loving, caring person. Also your wonderful husband. Thank you both for showing us the cemeteries and sharing stories. From USA, Michigan.
Unnecessary bureaucracy in local government gone mad. Bullying, harassment and intimidation are what council seem to thrive on (even here in Australia). Bless him for standing his ground xx Teresa 🇦🇺♥
My Daddy is 88. Let someone start bullying him. This girl would turn into a tornado. Bless him if he's still alive. Thank you Sue for telling his story.
Stellar job of telling this gentlemans story . God bless his strong will & hardened backbone , in that he stood his ground .. I so enjoy when you bring tales to us of the very people who are in the graveyard you are visiting .. We all love you Sue , stay safe Sister !
Typical bureaucratic bull sh*t. I am glad that he stood his ground. Nice cemetery. Thank you very much for sharing this Sue and GV. Have a great week ahead 😀
I'm so glad to see he stood his ground and the crypt is still yellow much respect to him... always enjoy your videos they are always very informative stay safe from Aussie pete
I think they made him repaint it white and the strong pigment yellow bled thru over a couple years. I love that the council couldn't win in the end. Yellow shining right thru! And that spider in there scared me! 😭
To think this elderly fellow was just trying to improve the space where his next of kin were laid to rest and was then trampled upon by a bunch of red tape is so disrespectful to him and his family's memory. It looked like such a faint yellow it was almost white wash. I thought somebody was up in arms because it was school bus yellow! It did nothing to distract from the cemetery. It was barely noticeable. How sad. I send this gentleman my deepest sympathy and prayers whether he is with us or in heaven. 🙏♥️☘️
I wonder if someone with family near him complained to the cemetery association about the color. I could see someone petty enough to do that and it's just a shame they harassed a 90-year-old man about it. The color would not be my first thought to harp about. He was trying to make it look better. I'm glad the remnants of the yellow remain. Thank you for this story, Sue.
Yes - the vault was very full so perhaps he was interred elsewhere in the cemetery ? There’s a picture of Mr Curtin outside the very same tomb from 2013 in the local paper, the Clare Champion. It was a lot more yellow back then.
10:35 big 🕷 spider I love the way the grass grows on top of the tombs. Beautiful place sue and neat story. I have several videos of you and GV to watch. Been saving them for a rainy day. God bless you both.
It’s so petty that the town council was offended by the color yellow. In Panamá, where I live, houses are painted every bright color you can imagine. Lots of color in cemeteries too. All the tropical flowers inspire a love of color. Hey town council, my house is painted bright yellow. So there! 😎
I think everyone should have painted their mausoleums yellow, in solidarity! Thanks for interpreting the ones we can’t see…I never heard of the inclusion of the 30pieces of $$ as part of the symbolism. That was quite interesting. Thank you again, Sue! Remember it’s liquid sunshine coming from those clouds ⛅️ 🌧️ 😊 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
What a peaceful, beautiful place. The lichen looks like nature's paint box at work. I get such a sweet feeling about this special ground. Many thanks for taking us there, Sue. ❤
Sad that they made him re-paint his own tomb. Glad he stood brave against them. Did you see the size of that spider above the set of remains? About the size of a tarantula. Thank you Sue!!
Great video, couldn't take my eyes off the spider, but that red thing looked a lot like a zipper, or the edge of some sort of sash..I think that council is bonkers, jobs worths the lot of them why not have muted colour in a graveyard? not florescent orange or neon green, but yellow will weather to a cream lichen colour over time protects the stone too.. Thank you both for this interesting story.
Thanks Sue, I've seen so many graveyards and cemeteries abandoned, vandalised and so overgrown you can see the graves, yet they have a problem with a lovely gentleman tending his vault yellow, I'm so angry. As for that red thing, I have no idea, only really seen it in edit
That man would be 101 years old now. I wonder if they are still pressuring him to put another coat of paint on the mausoleum. It’s strange what some powers that be find important. Another great video. You take care. 😁🐶
Such a shame for them to treat him so bad. Especially at his advanced age. Too bad they are not like New Orleans, Louisiana. Tombs are all sorts rts of beautiful colors. Usually muted tones. But they look very pretty
10:24 Jaysus, do ya see the size of that spider! It's in the upper right hand corner on the wall. Sorry now, that is what I'm commenting about but 5 thousand miles away & I jumped lol. I am glad he got to keep it yellow!
If your family pays for a vualt, you should be able to do what you want. Always cemetery rules. Again families pay money to be laid to rest ❤ also, dont they seal coffins? Great video Sue 🌹⛪✝️💗
I’m wondering a little about your culture and how you treat your departed. I was completely shocked when you looked inside the vault and started talking about the bones of the person. Where I live that would be considered very disrespectful. So while I’m shocked, I’m very open to learn how others feel and their traditions. Thank you.
Sue, I wonder if he died before the 90 days were up. They didnt want to pay to repaint it? Then they wouldnt have anyone to bill it to? Just a thought 🤔 also great video! Thank you so much ❤
Oh, sure, make the old man who’s painted his a pretty color which would have helped protect the stone repaint it, but don’t make anyone fix broken roofs or crumbling, dangerous vaults…
Interesting story sue another great video I'm glad he stood his ground maybe he could be still alive or was cremated and the urn placed in the vault please let us no if you here anything about this gentleman 👍🙏
Always loved cemetries But why? Material way of holding onto body The spirit is long gone as it should In himalayas the body is chopped up and thrown into the mountains for the vultures.(notspeaking for all the peoples) Circle of life
Yes, I think so, I mean, why not. Poor man was only trying to brighten up his family vault. You've seen the graveyards overgrown or vandalised here on the channel, yet the council get annoyed over paint, I think it's ridiculous. They have no problem with white seemly
It is so stupid that 🙄 this story even happened...the cemetary is kept up especially the grass cut since there are so many slabs stones. A wet cloudy day, same weather here in Tennessee, glad GV with you. Great to see your video. I so love both you guys and stories and walks. Be blessed and be careful.❤😊
Lol, I wonder if the powers that be ordered those with the stark white headstones to paint them a dreary grey colour! They don't blend in either...This is so ridiculous Sue. Take care. Deb of Oz XXX
You can let your vault fall apart & fall down but you can't paint your vault a color other than white. Shame on the people who sent the letter. Petty little people on a power trip. Bullying an elderly man. Do they think that's what God wanted them to do. Probably not. Perhaps the people need to remember what our Lord told the sheep "that you do unto the least of mine that you do unto me" those people should end up with the goats. Love your videos I'm sorry for getting on my soap box. It made me angry Safe travels ❤

Interesting story! Glad it stayed yellow. He was very old and they treated him poorly. He won in the end 👏🏻👍🏻❤️. Thanks Sue!

One comment mentioned Mr. Curtain has passed and is buried in another cemetery - perhaps Sue, you could visit his grave in a future video.

Interesting old graveyard. Glad to see the mausoleum is still yellow and the old guy won out in the end. 👍
Mr Curtin died in 2016 and from the death notice looks like he is interred at Clohanes.
We looked here and didn't find him, unless there is another graveyard with the same name

Great video as usual Sue. Thanks for all you do
You are so welcome
10:24 That spider was huge and should be named. We shall name him Horace.
😅 I like that name. I didn't see if until it was pointed out to me in the comments
