@RepairtoRenew you are a God! I did not finish watching your video before my laptop got fixed. My Lord, what a genius! It was a staple pin on mine all these while. I already watched crap videos before yours came along. I said let me just finish my coffee before I go to Apple store to spend whatever because I was already unhappy for buying a new charger that still didn't work. Thanks, you are the engineer of the year!
Thank you so much. There was a mini nail rhinestone in the socket. That's why it wouldn't light up. It couldn't reach. I was without a laptop for a week; I would have to get a new one. I've had this MacBook retina 2015 now since 2017
For those of you for whom this suggestion DID NOT WORK, I was feeling desperate. I tried EVERYTHING. I finally took some aluminum foil and jammed it between the charger and the port. It didn't work, BUT when I removed it, its DID WORK! Not sure why, but I'll be trying again if there's a next time.
😭😭😭 worked for me. Didn't see any staple but went ahead to scratch the magnetic port incase of magnets debris and whatever and boom! Comes the glorious light of Green!!! I'm relieved.
Thanks mate, I followed your instructions and found a staple pin holding on to the socket area, once I removed it problem was solved. Thanks you have saved my day. Cheers
I have a macbook air 2011 A1369. I have a problem with the boardmagsafe but the spare part I find is a1369 2014-2015 though. Can you tell me for sure if it will fit on my Mac because as I told you it is a 2011 model. Thank you
It should fit as long as it is from a A1369. But to be sure, take out the dc-in board. You see the flying leads coming off the board. You should see some adhesive on the board holding leads down. Carefully scrape that away, the part number will be underneath, It should be something like 820 3455-a? Make sure the new DC-in board has that part number
Unfortunately, I do not have the Macbook in front of me, so its hard to diagnose from a long way away. Follow the steps, borrow another charger from a friend. Otherwise it may be a battery fault. You might have to take the Macbook to a repairer
my charger lights up sometimes but most of the time it turns off after a while. the compute will indicate that its charging but when i click on the battery symbol to verify it says its not charging and the battery level stays the same
Your macbook has most likely been pulling excessive current, due to a fault. I would replace the Charge board (DC IN board), then change the battery. If this is not in your skillset, take it to a repairer Cheers R2R
my is a chinese charger and the pop up when i plug it do you think i need to buy a new one?, because the macbook works just fine is the charger that is not working
Hi, "TH-cam Is A Joke" glad you got the tiny piece of metal out of the Magsafe socket. This is why we made this video, so it could help people out. cheers MBK
I found the my cord metal sheath was not connected must be the earth I rejoined the metal sheath just under the outer insulation. And the light came on the charging plug
I bought a new charger for my 2013 A1466 macbook air but when it arrived, it was for a 2014 A1436 model. I tried it out anyway but the light didn't turn on. Do I buy a new one or can I still salvage this?
Plug should be fairly solid in the mac, when plugged in. As per the video, check for any obstruction the the charging port plug and mac side. Staples, metal rubbish, etc. Can be hard too see. Otherwise you will have to take it to a repairer
i sometimes have the same problem, sometimes the macbook would chrage but the light is off, sometimes it didn't charge, i just re plug the charger in like 5 times if this happens and it works
Check for a obstruction in the charging port. magnets may be being held apart by metal crud, staple, etc. You will have to look closely, especially if it is a staple. Magnet must be a solid connection. Goodluck
My computer was on 30 procent, I turned it off, then after a few minutes I turned on the power, plugged in the computer charger, the orange light on the plug started blinking, the screen didn't show up, and turned off and the ligh on the plug does not glow green now its not turning on Is there Any way to fix it
Don’t throw the cheap crap Chinese one out, as my original apple adapter for some reason doesn’t charge when the MacBook battery runs out and I need the cheap one to get it going for 10 mins then the original works as normal. So I keep the cheapy for those occasional times.
I buy a second hand laptop, go to charge it and it doesn't charge. I search for this video and look at the port to find out it's pushed upward, I try all other videos but nothing works... I've been scammed and don't know what to do.
Because the laptop is a bit of a loss at the moment, you could try to dis-assemble the laptop and push the port back down. Or take it to a laptop repairer
Thanks for the tip, but I am going to pull you up there Manny. The green light depends on the "one-wire" circuit, which is a direct interaction between the smc via a controlled gate. The SSD port is controlled by a totally separate power supply Circuit, total separate data controller via the PCH, nothing to do with the "one-wire" circuit. But if the MacBook does not boot with a green light, it cannot hurt to checkout the SSD connector. Cheers MBK
i think my problem is the charger, when i plug it in, the light is ok, after a little while the orange light is dim, and then the orange light turns off, the laptop still charges, i hope so it does say it's charging ps, when the light turns off the charging icon on the top right turns from black to white
Bro...same happenied on my macbook air too... few months now the orange light is completely gone, however the mac is charging...but no charging indication available unless display is turned on.
@@deepunair6479 everytime for me when the battery icon on the top right corner is completely white it doesn't charge and when it turns black after a few seconds it's ok
my charger has no green light, the battery charge doesn't go beyond 0% even though the battery condition says it's normal...i dont understand so what should I do?? :'((

Found the issue with my 2017 macbook air refusing to charge: it's an apple! Programmed for deletion bc the assholes at apple want me to buy a new one. Lol I only have this total POS bc my daughter gave it to me. Had it for 2 years, used it maybe 2 months in all. Complete crap product.
You are god send. It was the staple. Earlier I did take the picture and ignored it, thinking it was par of the unit. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome, saved you repairing your Mac
Was in a panic this morning, all the youtube videos I watched had very complex solutions when all I needed was mild cleaning. Thank you.
Great job!

Thank YOU. 3 years later, the video still came in very useful for me. it was a staple issue.
All that panicking for some dirt in the socket. I got to clean it out. Thank you.
Sometimes it's as simple as that.
3:14 you have saved me $ 10. Staple was there. I removed it. Now charging.
If a pin is jammed - smack it face down a surface!! WOOOOOOOO saved me €90. You beauty
Thank you so much
It was the staple problem and it instantly fixed it
Glad it helped, every so often a staple gets stuck. Its save you a trip to the repairer.

I purposely bought another macbook and left it uncharged. The battery died and couldn’t be charged. Now I know it’s the battery
My is a 2014 and it won’t startup with these steps.
Super helpful thank you very much
Hey my macbook charger won't light up its the charger u used for this video its in perfect condition can u help me please
Unfortunately, I do not have the Macbook in front of me, so its hard to diagnose from a long way away.
Follow the steps, borrow another charger from a friend. Otherwise it may be a battery fault.
You might have to take the Macbook to a repairer
I had a coffee ground inside the port and it would not connect. Thank you thank you thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, that is something different !
I turned it around and plugged it in. Green
Haha, turns out for me it was just that I didn’t put in the plug properly. Turns out 1:14 really is important 😂
Staple thing…..it helped ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great it helped you
Staple wire on the spot!! .. Thanks man!!
Well done finding the staple, one less Macbook to land fill.
Pins of my socket is burnt out do I need to change power socket?? Or something else

I don’t know what it was but by the time I got to 6:47, my charger was lighting up again. Thank you so very much.
My MacBook Has Burnt Pins not the charger but of the MacBook, what should I do my MacBook is not getting charged
Your macbook has most likely been pulling excessive current, due to a fault.
I would replace the Charge board (DC IN board), then change the battery.

So helpful! I thought the staple was a part of the port. Many, many thanks for the explicit, up-close and effective trouble-shooting tips!
Glad it helped!
Thank you this video is so helpful. Been wondering these past two days.. find the culprit day it's the staple 😆
my is a chinese charger and the pop up when i plug it do you think i need to buy a new one?, because the macbook works just fine is the charger that is not working
Try a friends genuine charger first, if that works OK, buy a new genuine apple charger.
Ayeeee mine had a TINY piece of metal on the MacBook magnet and it wouldn’t connect! Thanks!

If the charger fits and it's the correct wattage, it should give you a rough idea.
Otherwise you might be able to borrow a charger of a friend.
My Power adapter IS Chinese. The whole Apple laptop is Chinese (made in China). Genuine Apple (made in China).
The Mac has a little vibration when you touch if the charger is in. Buh it just won’t light up. Any tips for me ?

My magnet is not working while connecting my charger to MacBook port.
Few magnet has removed from charging port.. What should I do?
Check for a obstruction in the charging port. magnets may be being held apart by metal crud, staple, etc. You will have to look closely, especially if it is a staple. Magnet must be a solid connection.

4:40 my daughter wanted a brand new. But removed the staple.
Apologise to your daughter, she will just have to keep using the old macbook.
:)

Isolate the battery, then try and start up. If it starts without battery, then replace battery.
@@Repair2Renew It does not work į think the problem is charger because į try everything and it didn't works. So ya the problem is the charger

My nephew thought it’d be a good idea to put the cord in his mouth now it stopped working properly, 🙄
Tell your nephew NO CORD IN MOUTH !!!!
Borrow another Magsafe power adapter and give that a try !!!
What happen when it's plugged in and the green light comes on but is blinking and not charging the MacBook.
Might be time to escalate to a repairer.
But most likely will need a battery replacement

but my problem is the magsafe (2) is charging about 2 sec and then is turned off and then he charge again for 2 sec
Oh thank god it was just super dirty. Some isopropyl alcohol 70% and a q-tip went a long way!
Well done Ava for fixing your macbook !
if no light on cable please for dear god remove SSD and try it with out it if light comes on it's the SSD port need cleaning or SSD going bad
