  • In this Video I review my 2006 Ford Expedition Limited to show you, the growing family, just how perfect this SUV is for your family. I show you how extremely spacious the cargo area is, as well as go over the amenities and show how well car seats, both infant and toddler, fit in the middle row. If you're looking for the best family SUV on a budget, this is definitely a family car i would look into.
    Thank you for watching and I hope this review is helpful. If there are any other cars, SUVs, or vans you'd like to see on this channel for a review just like this one, please let me know within the comments for suggestions and I will do everything I can to get my hands on one for a review.

    After a few months looking for an 06 expedition 4x4 with a sunroof and in decent conditions, I finally got it.

    Bought a 2006 Ford Expedition Limited (white) in 2015 (9 years old) best car I’ve ever bought and can be had for under 10k. Previous owner was an older couple (grandparents). All maintenance done at dealer. No stains on carpet front or rear. Only oil changes . Changed to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto radio other than that it’s been smooth sailing!
    Same technology as today at a fraction of the price! Congrats my guy!

      @@andycomella1726 This was BEFORE the used car market got crazy during early 2020 when COVID hit. I bought mine in 2015.. It was an 06.. 9 years old at the time.. Had 110k at purchase it was 10/11k but ultimately after 4 years in 2019 due to someone else’s negligence it got rear ended and totaled. Beautiful condition but the blue book value / NADA value was low considering it was 13 years old at the time of the wreck.

    So this was 4 years ago. How has your experience been with this SUV? Do you still have it? Would you pick it again if you went back in time?

    Use full synthetic 5w20 and change the oil every 3-4k miles. The have one piece platinum plugs now so once changed you don't have as much of a risk of breaking them. Change the coils at the same time and you should be good for awhile.

    Good Review
    These are great SUVs I recently purchased my 3rd one a 2006 Eddie Bauer. Drives great and has plenty of space for my double stroller and 2 car seats and more.

    I've had three expeditions over the last twenty years. We retired our '99 (248,000 miles) a few years ago and just purchased a 2017 Limited EL. We still use our '09 with 168,000 miles on her.

    Hey man we found an 06 King Ranch 1 owner 90K to replace the 04 XLT we had in Sept 2017. Just a heads up 2 things you should do ASAP change your brake lines (you can do this yourself) and change the FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE....this could be one of the most difficult part to diagnose...it was used on the 05 and 06 only. The part itself costs about $120 and it will take half hour to swap. Located just behind the left side rear wheel on the chassis exposed to the elements. Change your oil with full synthetic and Lucas oil stabilizer....she will run.....
    At about 135K you should see an ABS light...change all 4 wheel hubs. The fronts are easy ... do this my Ford brother and she will give you 200K plus.

    I miss my 2003. It was nicely equipped for my needs as an XLT. Now that I have kids I wish I had it back. It hauled my landscape trailer and people well. I love the ride and handling the IRS in my Ford compared to a chevy Tahoe or Suburban of any age with a live rear axle.

    Found a '04 EB 2 years ago but I wanted a Limited, those are extremely hard to find. Anywho it's one hell of a beast and reliable as hell. When I bought it for just under 5k I only had to replace rockers(typical rust) front brake lines, repaint back hatch door, 1 pulley wheel for serpentine belt and that's it. Suspension was all good up until 2 months ago so I just replaced all of it, front and back and put a 2 inch lift in front to "sit her up". Brakes, rotors, upper/lower control arms. She rides so smooth! BTW it had 148,000 on the dash and to date I'm at 171,000 all highway miles as my job it 20 mins from be on the highway. Also I see you keep yours in 2wd I keep min in aw4wd is that a prob?

      I have a 2000 with 180K. Replaced my 2001 because the frame was rusted through... It was mechanically sound, though. They'll last forever if you give them love & LOTS of gas.😄

    These would be the best if they kept the 2v engine style like they had in the 03 expeditions (same body different engine) also they are known for faulty security systems, fuses boxes frying, the fuel pump emergency cut off switch malfunctioning killing the truck for no reason, and of course the notorious cam phasers and bad lifters (make a diesel and ticking noise) that kill the engine.

  • @shanet7511
    @shanet7511 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You said it raises the suspension in 4 low, can you elaborate more on this? Is it just the rear end or all 4 corners? Do you know how much it raises?

    I had an 05 expedition Eddie Bauer 4x2. Sold it when the trans started leaking. I then test drove different newer expeditions (2012 and 2014). They did not feel as powerful and confortable as the older model. I miss my 05. I got a suburban, which is okay, but I miss the responsive engine and the handling of the expedition. Maybe in the future I can find one like yours. 06 4x4 with a sunroof.

    How are you buddy, just wanted to share my story.. in September 2017 i traded my 2004 expedition and got a 2006 King Ranch that looked flawless, no rust in the undercarriage, ran great, 1 owner, original coil over shocks instead of air suspension. 90K miles all the bells and whistles, I paid $12,000.00 . within that year i had to change 2 brake calipers, ALL the brake lines, all 8 spark plugs and coils, the gas pump control module, 4 wheel hubs, and had to rebuild the transmission. In 2019 all front suspension parts were changed and the transmission went out again because coolant from the radiator got in. in all $6,500. in repairs. in my case it wasn't a good experience. my 04 was great we had to get rid of it because rust got into the frame. would i buy another one... ONLY a 2009 model...that year Ford perfected their engine and body. i told my wife who refuses to get rid of it that the next time it brakes down to call me AFTER she calls the junk yard to pick it up. i know you win some...you lose some but i had enough.

      +Darius Kila mine has 114k miles so far. Bought it back in December only 2 days after Christmas with 100k on it. The only real issue I had was the spark plugs. Right now it has a very slow freon leak in the AC as well but it runs great.

  • @josephdunkle1152
    @josephdunkle1152 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    9 hours to remove spark plugs, hopefully the threads didn't strip, the plugs will then blow out eventually. Happened to me on my wife's Ford Escape.

    • @alanholmes2366
      @alanholmes2366 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Dunkle Use only the latest Motorcraft plugs and hand start them. Once you get them started then over torque them past the factory torque recommendation. Factory torque spec is like 14ft lbs. Go up to about 21-22lbs. Lil bit of anti-seize on them. Issue solved.

    I'll stick with my 2003 Expedition. My sister had an 06 and that 3 valve 5.4 was just such a turd. I did all kinds of crap and would still a get random misfires. I had her get rid of that thing. I'll stick with the 2 valve 5.4.

  • @TheTerminator310
    @TheTerminator310 ปีที่แล้ว

    The SUVs themselves are great, but that 5.4 3 valve is garbage. I would never recommend these trucks to anyone, myself. It isn't just spark plug problems. They have timing chain problems, cam phasers problems, VCT solenoid problems, valve train rocker arm problems... you name it, lol. One of the biggest piles to ever roll off of a Ford assembly line. Seen so many of these trucks (especially F-150s) sitting in a yard with grass growing around them, because the engine blew up. Stay away from ANYTHING with a 3v engine. Some people get away without problems, but it's not worth the risk.

    • @mattweeks2272
      @mattweeks2272 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      super gamer6894 front airbags generally don’t deploy for rollover crashes. That’s not just a ford thing, that’s pretty much across the board. The reason is that there are impact sensors on the chassis of a vehicle that need to be triggered to deploy an airbag. If you get hit head on, side curtain airbags will not deploy. If you roll over, front airbags generally do not deploy.
