    We like your post-operation summary, explaining what went wrong, and how you worked around it.

    I just swapped the old unloader valve to the new switch unit . Work like new again .

    Trial and error is not a good suggestion/practice when voltage is part of the equation. Glad you didn’t get hurt or create a disaster. May God Bless.

    Would have been so easy to get a longer piece of copper tubing and two new compression rings. Form the tubing into a loop to make the connection. There is some heat at the check valve end but transmission hose should be able to take it.

      Agree, but I kind of had to make due with what I had on hand. So far still holding up, but if it fails, I will switch to copper. Thanks!

    I really appreciate the effort and time you put into this video. I've been following you for a while now. I have a question for you. I have a craftsman air compressor. It looks like what you've got. I hooked it up to my nail gun today and the safety relief valve went off twice and after this I shut the air compressor off and now it won't start. I've ordered a circuit breaker for it, thinking that might be the problem. What do you think could be wrong with it?

      Thanks. I had a similar problem. I ended up replacing the safety relief valve. But It's been a while. I remember the new valve doing the same thing. And it ended up being the pressure switch that was the problem. So you might be having the same issue I was and may have to replace the pressure switch. I can't tell you 100% if that's the issue. But that's a similar pattern to what I was having

    Quick question what’s the name of the valve right under the box that’s facing front that’s connected to tube. Thank you

    Great video, i don''t know how often you use your compressor, but after two years of your video, is the part still good? thanks

      Thanks. Yes the switch is still going strong. I don't use the compressor regularly, just stuff like blowing out the sprinklers before winter, filling car tires when needed, blowing up pool floats etc. But I've had no issues with it since I changed it.

    My compressor blows the trips the fuse every time it runs for 2 seconds. No weird buzzing.
    I replaced both start/ run cap and same results.
    Should I replace the switch before I take the motor apart to see if the internals are shot?

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Is this something new? I mean has it run fine before and now just started tripping the breaker? Depending on the size, some require a 20amp line while others can get away with a 15amp line. It doesn't sound a switch problem. Sounds more like it's drawing too much power. Unless of course something is shorted out in the switch then that can cause it too

    • @Z33Garage
      @Z33Garage 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mudslidex1 I ran it on a 20amp and it still there the breaker, it just took longer to do so.

      I had the same problem replace the cap two times until the caps got on fire while running and the switch never shut off...bad thermoswitch....and I had the same problem with the breaker tripping...and was plug 20 amp breaker....so call a electrician and he found that the 20amp breaker didn’t had the proper wire size soy he install the proper wire and new 20amp breaker And I was lucky I had enough space in my service panel to ad the new breaker and it work great ...

    When i put the switch to turn on my compressor nothing happens could i have a bad switch

    • @czarekaj1098
      @czarekaj1098 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There could be a lose/bad connection under the cover for the motor. There are few screws holding the cover and when you take it of, try to pull on all the connectors. Before that, please unplug the compressor or you will have a shocking experience
