      Thanks Jeff. I love your simple and light explanations. Have been following your videos for several months and have started using Qi Gong with patients I work with. I did feel lighter and more energy after doing this routine last night before bed. Thank you 🙏🏻

      What kind of results have your patience had?
      Thanks for your comment!

      ThinkVitality I just took a number of different moves from the calming and grounding routine of yours that I had been practising everyday morning and night for quite a few weeks. I also included a couple of moves from anxiety and stress routine using the yin breath due to this persons anxiety. will maybe use a scale next time to measure before and after but I think they are going to practise outside of our sessions also so will see how they are getting on. We are also using Mindfulness as this is the main healing practise I use when working with others. So I loved your mindfulness meditation video. I work in palliative care so any suggestions for this area of work specifically would be really appreciated. 😊🙏🏻

      Did it last night before bed and slept fantastic. Did it again this morning and feel relaxed, calm, gentle, and centered. I'm going to try this one out for a couple weeks. Thanks, Jeff for your great videos!

      I felt so hot! I felt a combination of tingling churn all over but mostly in my tummy and energized. I was lightheaded for a second afterwards but after sitting for a few mins I felt better. Thank you 🙏

    accidently deleted my first comment. In short. I have been treated by a Chinese acupuncturist for past 5 years and finding it so amazing how the body was designed to heal itself. Got very interested in TCM ( having 0 confidence in Western medicine) So a few months ago I searched and was probably "guided" to your website. Immediately it resonated with me. I have several Favorite routines ; Deep sleep, Anxiety/Stress and most recently discovered Dan Tian. During my last acupuncture session Dr. pressed hard on that spot which gave me pain: that was Dan Tien, my issues with anxiety/stress/ fatigue I want to work on myself in between treatment, having control over my health is important. In addition I am in the senior + category and balance is another issue. This is why I will continue with your website. I am very flexible having done yoga for many years, ice skating. ballet...this is all past tense!! Thank you for your wonderful approach/ teaching.
    I love it!!

      I know what you mean about the worry of not doing it right. Sometimes I feel I am not doing it right, only to experience a lightness or other body sensation later on. I find qi gong deceptively powerful. And Jeff is so great at providing it for the masses. Hope your practice is going well.

    Thank you! Another wonderful video. I just added it to my Qigong exercise routine playlist. I do your videos everyday. I have RA and COPD, and I can't tell you how much you have helped me. Your videos are laid back and relaxing, and your voice is very soothing. I also like how you get to the point when talking, without a lot of filler talk in between and you don't repeat yourself like so many other people do.

      Thanks so much for your comment! I am so glad to hear that the videos have been helpful!
      What improvements have you noticed with your COPD ants RA?
      Thank you as well for the feedback on the format of the videos. I do try to stay focused on the content of the video rather than talk too much.
      Sometimes I do get excited to share different concepts but I try to contain my words😀
      Thanks again and keep up your practice!

    Thank you so so much for this! This and all of your videos have TRULY helped me through a very rough time since June. I've had so many bizarre symptoms and turns out this blood pressure med was the culprit. I was so stressed during this time with so many tests, appointments, etc., and I remained calm and centered(surprisingly) because of your videos! And in the end, turns out I didn't even need to be on it. Thank you and keep up the AMAZING work, so appreciated!

      I thought the body is a conduit for chi, and not a storage container of it. Hence the stagnant chi, though you want to clear and blockages to have the chi flow, and not try to accumulate it?

    • @terrarianutter8287
      @terrarianutter8287 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gigong theory says there are two gi or chi container or houses. Fire gi and water gi the root chakra or Dan tan is where your water gi comes from. Water gi is given to you from your parents and stays with you your whole life. Fire gi comes from food and air and the gi there in. This energy is stored below the solarplexus. Fire gi is what makes your body hot when you practice moving and controlling it. Water gi will cool this fire go down. Mixing the two is suppose to bring longevity.

    These are good practices for moving the qi in specific directions, but not for building or generating qi in order to fill the dan tian. The only one secret not told by many is Zhan Zhuang. This is the power practice that generates the qi which can later be stored.

    New subscriber. My zoom qigong teacher recommended you months ago and I've been using your videos in between her class days. I decided, during her absence for the last two weeks, to do this particular routine as she focus's on the dan tian energy all the time. I have needed to build it up. I tend to feel I am not "doing it right" a lot of the time, then feel just a bit dizzy [I am 73yrs old]. Other than that the energy gained is wonderful. I can tell if I am not relaxed enough at times because my back under shoulder blades start to hurt!

My Chinese acupuncturist encourages me to practice routines for balance which is one of my issues. I want to find a practice for balance. but did not see that subject on your website...

    Jeff - you bring out the very essence of qigong in your videos! My hands heated up right away. Thank you.
    Two especially interesting and informative ideas in this video:
    Breathing into the dantien, not the chest.
    And in the forward movement exercise, the subtle lowering of the chin and raising the crown of the head during inhalations for more "space" and relaxing the chin during exhalations.
    Question: Do you do this chin movement during all three exercise?

    I really enjoy his teaching and sessions he offers. The big thing like he said is REGULAR PRACTICE! seams simple enough but life loves to dirupt those good habits you are working to create. and I know I let it happen often. So for anyone listening DISCIPLINE! it sucks! But in the long run It will be worth it. Thanks Jeff for the excellent teaching and work you put into this to help people.

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, simplicity and regular practice!
      It's like water dripping on a stone; over time something as soft as water can break down the stone.
      Discipline is good, but once it becomes a habit, we won't need it. Qigong will become like brushing your teeth, soon it is just part of life.
      Thanks for your comment!

    I'm chi deficient so am glad to learn another way to develop and store chi. I appreciate this video so much and will practice for 3 weeks twice a day and see if I notice anything different. SInce I have trouble sleeping I'll do it night as well as in the morning before work. I did feel warmth around my body after doing this but throughout the exercise I felt a pain around my left shoulder in an arc leading from my sternum out toward the shoulder and back around to the back centering near the should blade or wing as I like to call it. I noticed a lot of popping of my left shoulder joint as I did the movement bringing chi towards the back.

  • @halohalo86
    @halohalo86 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I started practicing wing chun some months back, and my sifu often brings up getting the power from within rather than the muscles themselves. As I've practiced more and more on my own lately, and reflected on this as I notice that I'm sometimes able to bring very strong force to my movements even when not exerting much strength from my muscles. This led me to TH-cam to learn more about chi and dan tian. While following the exercises in this video, I noticed that when I started doing the forward balloon exercise, I was able to do what my sifu said during an exercise in my lesson yesterday - get the inner body to make my arms move forward by themselves! It felt as if there was a strong energy moving my arms outwards and inwards with my breath, while my arm muscles were not doing anything! This is a feeling realisation that chi is something very real in me and not just an abstract concept. Thanks for this video!

    I tried to do similar to when you do a chi ball, I could rest my hands against the magnetic push, it felt effortless the more I did. Very pleasant exercise, I feel I should do this daily. I wanted to learn to strengthen my chi.

    Wonderful video to help rebuild our Dan Tian. Your gentle direction is unique and allows us to continue revisit your site. Thank you. Not all Qi Gong teachers mention the Dan Tian which is essential to our health. Again thank
    you .

    love this channel! Thank you!! I've just watched 3 or 4 videos and I feel so much calmer! I was having a stressful weekend and I also hold a lot of neck and shoulder and jaw tension as well as having trouble with anxiety and breathing deeply and this helped so much with all of that! I plan to do at least a tiny bit of Qi Gong everyday from now on.

      Also I am a pre-k teacher and always trying to find ways to calm the kids down and center them so I think I will start doing a little bit of Qi Gong with them sometimes and see how it works! I think it could really help!

    Thank you for posting this video. It was amazing. While doing the exercises I realized how tight my breath is and how I breathe mostly in my chest. I could really feel the difference when I focused on bringing my breath down. The instructions for the head and chin position were very helpful and allowed me to move my breath lower more naturally. Thank you!!!!!

    Ok this is doing something after a week. I’m attuned to reiki and at first I couldn’t sense anything, but now I feel the energy building up. My immune system really took a hit last month from stress, and it was like a physical domino effect of flare ups in my body. I’d normally meditate and exercise every day but this became almost impossible. I was so uncomfortable in my body. ☹️ Somehow I felt the need to do qi gong again and ended up here. This practice and the opening movement are mostly what I’ve done every day. It’s so grounding. Also I can tell it’s significantly sped up the healing process. My flare ups are mostly all gone and I’m able to move freely again. It’s amazing- really! So simple!

    Thank you so much! This is wonderful since I have been looking for a lower dan tian practice. You are very soothing while also giving great instructions. I've been practicing qigong many years and never saw a practice that builds lower qi from front and back -- only sides -- so this is a powerful revelation for me and I am looking forward to the benefits!

    Dude, I've been doing a lot of meditation on my lower dantian, but this really kicked things into gear. I have this huge magnetic field in my belly and between my palms when doing this, its kind of funny. My palms sort of resist each other and when I turn laogong (center of my palms) towards my dantian I can feel the magnetic field there. Also the feeling is changing between heat and a cooling sensation. Good stuff man, thanks :D

      Yawning is a good sign, it happens a lot in classes - I don't take it personally 🙂
      Keep working on the 'balloon!'
