Man the aggressiveness in which you handle these books is disheartening.
I try to be efficiant and sometimes its results in me going faster when flipping through books which can look on camera as if I am damaging them . I can promise you i care about the condition of comic books as much if not more than anyone else . It is something i definitely need to work on though 🤣. Thanks for checking out the video! Wow....the comic handling professionals are out on this video!! If they are bagged and boarded, they are fine. If not, then nobodies expecting them to stay in mint condition.
@@TheComicsDen the recording had a fish eye lens effect , so it gave the appearance that the comics were bending, but they weren’t. You were fine 👌
I've seen much worse handling from store owners and most of these books were at least bagged and boarded before being tossed in a pile by the antiques shop.
I love how he says they're a little beat up as he smashes through them!
The reason the books are so beat up is because of one handed sorters. You have no respect for the books you pass up. You may not want them but leave them cool for the next person. Thanks for the show.
Comics aren't made for Handicapped people I guess? 🤣. The Books are beat up because the guy that owns them doesn't take care of them . If you check out my "Storage Unit " Video you'll see what I mean . Thanks for watching 👍.

Do you want to go to the shop and correctly bag and board the books so that they start in "pristine" condition? Lol. Relax, when they're just randomly stacked, there's no way you can be careful.

Most antique shops I've been in have their comics way over priced. They use price guides which are at least double the prices on eBay.
Or use Mile high comic prices, they have insane prices 3x or even 4x, when compared to eBay listing prices
I sold a NM FF #26 back in the early 90’s at one of my dad’s booths in an Antique mall… displayed in one of his glass cases. It was a beautiful copy. Sold for $300. Needed the money for college tuition.
Greatest feeling is to find a nice comic from thrifts, garage sales & flea mkts
All my antique shop has is old clothes and popcorn tins full of sewing supplies. And a lot of pro Nazi stuff for some reason.

I think you guys are fine on the handling of the books in these shops. The best thing you can do is getting these books OUT of the antique shop.. I might offer the shop a flat price for a short box and see what they would take.

Great finds. I like those silver and Bronze Age horror books, some of which Neal Adams did great covers on.

Nice video guys. I love me a good antique shop and flea market hunt. Always fun to find books where most people wouldn't think of going. There are books still out in the wild just need to go and find them. Great job guys. Keep up the good content. 👊🏼

I have been to literally well over 100 antique stores through out my state and several others and I have never once found any that come even close to half the amount of comics some of the stores in this video had. Prices were definitely high though.
There were a lot of nice books I would have been tempted by, but when you pulled up that Ghosts of Doctor Graves, you had my attention. I dig those old Charleton horror books. Great video!

The thing is, eventually ALL of these books are going to be valuable, and you don't know what is going to be a "Key" in the future.
I'm a big fan of John Buscema, who did the original 'Savage" She-Hulk pencil work, as well as the 'Savage' Sword of Conan and Conan the Barbarian.
Antique shops look like my house would look if I were loaded, lol... Just hoarding a bunch of goodies
That one booth was very up/down price wise as we saw. Its like the booth guy was going between slapping $3.99 to $9.99 on books in different ways lol. Usually some antique store booths have solid deals at times.
At 8:28 on the lower right of the screen ( under the short box) there is a psychedelic print. That very well could be marvel greetings cards from the 60s. They are worth serious cash. And cool looking

Nice video! You never know what you will find at those antique shops. I would have been tempted to get some of those Silver Age Atom's, Blackhawk's and Showcase's. They wouldn't make a deal on the Werewolf by Night's!!??
Cool vid. More fun than actually going through comics at the antique malls. We have a ton in my state and most just have poor condition comics at high prices. Or occasionally nice condition stuff at an ebay price. But I gotta do something while the wife is antiquing.
Antique stores are a mixed bag for sure. They try to probably ask higher than they are willing to take expecting people to haggle, but then they also often do not know what they have. I bought two copies of Wolverine #1 vol.2 and Suicide Squad #1 vol.1 from an antique store and gave them their full asking price of $10.

Just started collecting Phantom comics again after 15 years - any tips for starting out? Found a few good bundles to start off with from local sellers plus some nice editions on ebay. New Sub love the channel.
Thanks for watching. Sometimes I have luck on ebay when I am looking for something specific or HTF. Conventions are a great way to find things also. If a dealer doesn't have it at the show they might have one at home so always ask.
Those are my go to antique shops when im in florida, scored a Worlds Finest 153 there last month

Damn y’all are spoiled having so many to flip through at your local antique stores. Mine have maybe 10 books and they are all junk. That being said.. take a small stack out instead of bending them so hard to look.

I felt alone going to non comic book stores, I’ll still keep going to the two stores I go to, the only new comic book I’m buying right now is The Rise.

I source comics all over the place and I have a few spots that have a lot of back issues for $1.00, $2.00 and $3.00. I am trying to fill in hole for a collection started long ago. I try not to spend more than $20.00 for something scarce to me. EBay has been hit and miss and people are very disingenuous when selling books so be sure that sellers take detailed pics, if they don't that should tell you something.

Oh come on. The prices are mostly crazy, you don't get to choose what comics you want (it's only what you find) and you completely ignore the amount of time dedicated to finding 'bargains. Antique shops are horrible places for comics if you are honest with yourself.

I don't get it are you resellers or collectors. Looks like you are selling comic books on eBay cheaper than the prices at the thrift stores you go to.
The thrift store gives me 30% off sticker price so it leaves me room to resell sometimes . what I basically do is list my entire collection on eBay for everyone to look at and buy from if they enjoy the comics I buy in the wild . if you see something over priced on my eBay its most likely because its something I would like to hold onto 😂.
