I own the Nightshift 2022 and love it! But I have to say, I'm very jealous when I see all the cool stuff they added in the 2023: ride-by-wire, traction control, ride modes, quickshift, bigger display and multimedia system. Among the 2023 models, I'm still preferring the Nightshift all the way! Absolutely beautiful design.
I bought the Full Throttle, already 800 miles in. Great for my commute, and my mates are all jealous when we for on a weekend ride. I have no negatives at all so far.
@bstn6001 Nope, because I bought the full throttle, I have the nicer exhaust. So, I haven't looked at it. My neighbours wouldn't appreciate anything louder.
Love the way the Nightshift looks but I stand up SO MUCH on my Scrambler I’m happy I got the Icon. Money saved went to full Akrapovic exhaust, rear shock and Sargent seat. It’s perfect
That's hilarious because I, luckily, already have the new Nightshift (first in Portugal I think) and I've already changed the exhaust for the full sports exhaust (better than the Full Throttle one), and waiting on the quickshifter, handlebars, handguards, small windshield and the panniers. Rizoma parts also already installed :) Honestly, couldn't be happier after months of comparing many many bikes, especially, scramblers!
@@nicolasdelabassetiere8829 that is a great sounding exhaust, great choice. For me though i dont like the straight pipe look like the triumph scramblers that exhaust looks like, still looking for an alternative..
@@ozgurdogan2064 there is that option too I believe, which is what you call a high exhaust for scramblers (Termignoni also make one for this scrambler). Thing is, they are quite nice but not super practical if they weren’t perfectly designed with the bike (Triumph made the design specifically for it), but also because the heat and ergonomics for the pillion is not ideal either.
The scrambler icon used to cost $9k pre pandemic.. IMO they haven’t made any major changes for the $12k they cost in 2024. All motorcycles are overpriced now.. they want to attract a new generation of riders but don’t realize that the younger generation will have a much harder time justifying +$10k prices.
I'm still new to bikes, one of the reasons I started getting interested in them was because of Akira and because they're so much cheaper than cars, I'm still.a car guy, though. I think the X on the headlights are some of the coolest looking parts of any motorcycle I know of
I think the Icon however I'm not overly impressed with the lcd instrument cluster-I think a more retro round analogue dial with a rectangular section for extra digital information, like gear indicator-dual trips-clock & ambient temp. I also think they should have done a enduro option with bash plate & high guard as well as spoked wheels. I would add an off road mode to the mode options on the bike. I would have dropped the night shift as I can't really see the point in it as it really doesn't fit into the retro look or an evolution of the 62 model. I would also drop the wide tyre on the rear wheel for the Enduro model as well as a slightly deeper wall profile on the tyre for better off road & more suspension travel which would translate to a slightly higher seat height at 805 mm (lowered)-835 mm (standard height).
As a 2020 reg scrambler owner I don’t like the look of the new ones. I was looking to update when the new ones came out but have been underwhelmed when seeing them in the flesh. Brought a new speed twin 1200 instead
Awesome feedback, if I my ask what mic setup do you use while riding. I have been really struggling to get some good audio on my ride videos. Many thanks
Nice video. I've been riding the same bike for four years and feel ready for something new. The Nightshift is on top of my list so far. Not sure what else to consider....maybe a Bonneville T100?
Great video and thanks for the detailed review! Wondering though before I would buy one and given the scramblers are air cooled, are they operating optimally also in warm climates (Mediterranean countries with long dry summers)?
Nice bike, I never had a Ducati, it really appeals to me and I would like to buy one, I would like a Desert, but now seeing the Fantic with Yamaha engines, the same Yamaha, and the new Triumph 400 that looks great for the city, I'm going to see over time, the only thing I don't like about the Ducati is the high cost of maintenance
expect 1000 euros for a muffler cover, 400 euros for a brake lever, 300 euros for a rear indicator light (have to change whole tailpiece both indicators, even if only one is broken, it is one piece sneaky buggers!), or perhaps, like me, 3500 euros for a new front fork... meaning do not scratch, snap, break or fall odd the thing because any damage will be beyond affordable repair at Ducati prices. Owner of two scramblers (cafe and nightshift) speaking here. If the tachometer/speedo snaps then you have to change the whole central steering block for about anoter 1000 euros.. anyway i fell off and had a few scratches and an indicator and one front fork to mend and Ducati only accepted replace with new parts and a cost of 300,000 Thai Baht to repair a 430,000 Thai Baht bike! I told them to get in a box six feet under and nail themselves shut
@@AjarnSpencer I just cried after learning this. The bike itself costs 17k Euro approximately where I live. Plus these additional expenses and the dreaded Desmo service.
Love the full throttle but won't buy one because of the ridiculous short service intervals for the belts .My mileage would need 2 set of belts a year ,makes for an expensive bike to own .
have any one changed the steering wheel on the nightshift to the same one that is on the Full Throttle and was it much work? do you need to rewire or do it all fit?
Full Throttle for me. But it costs more. I'd probably buy the basic one. But then I wouldn't buy any of them. SCR950 rules! Odd username now. Not my doing. I am 1990.
Terrible... They should put the new single in these. Keep the styling more traditional... Like triumph, people buying Royal Enfield's because they look better, but you know they don't want to be riding RE's performance wise.
None for me! And why on earth are Ducati making the indicators so small that they will be unlikely to be seen by anyone? Or are they following BMW in that indicators are no longer required?!
nightshift is the only one that looks good, definitely due to those spoked wheels. they all sound terrible though, they’re not slow bikes but they sound absolutely gutless
So many people don't understand, why this "old school" engine and maintance is still around. Would you rather take a few minutes and do some super simple easy maintainance or all day pain in the arse valve adjustment on modern bikes. I own 7 motorcycles and love my Scrambler, BECAUSE of it's Desmo 2 valve engine.

I really like the exhause pipe layout on this bike. It has a boa constrictor look to it, like it wraps around the whole engine block.

What do you do about the heating issue? Can you ride this without gear?
