You are wrong here. You are not considering the fact that CRED hasn't targetted the middle-lower class bracket. It's the middle-rich class of our country who are using the credit cards. For the middle class, incentives could be a reason to use the app quite often but for the rich section, simplicity and user experience would be the major factor.

Indian startups are a bunch of scammers.
They are not profitable at all!
They just inject money into the business via investors not customers.
Their way is so simple and dysfunctional: they provide generous free services on the basis that they will attract customers than start to charge them. But there’s no guarantee that they customers will pay for you! Most times they screw you, there is no a contract which by customers are forced to buy for your services.
I feel sorry for every investor who got his money burnt by an Indian scammer, only people they are benefiting are ads fox and begging customers. It’s a fucking charity not a startup, even charites now do generate profits but they spend it internally instead of giving profits to owners.

Lol, most people who use credit cards pay back on time that too the full amount. The money is made by charging the merchant and using the merchant fees to give offers to customers. And UPI is the biggest threat. If merchants see no difference in sales after stop accepting all these modes of payment and only switch to rupay/UPI, then they will be destroyed.
I for one hope this happens. If merchants give a discount to people who pay by UPI then game over.

For users two things should be in our mind 1.wen we use any payment app Or app like cred we give all our most important bank and card details, so this company should give assurance and maintain safety of all our data 2. As user you must make sure you don't get into any deep trap like over expenditure, hidden charges by the company itself.

The thing you said about creating a new normal and causing irreversible behavioural change, i just realised that the big entertainment companies like Netflix and Prime Video are doing the same by providing such large collection of movies and tv shows that engage us on a different level. Unlike Cred and Jio, this is a negative addition to the value of any person's time as he/she not only forgets the non-addictive forms of entertainment but also is unable to progress because of the addiction it has caused. I just thought i should write this down somewhere so that i remember it. Wonderful insight, thank you!

I believe that prime and Netflix are actually solving a problem here, maybe more than one problem. The problem is that the Business, like any other social media or content platform, wants to keep the user coming back. But I think they've gone beyond the limit and started exploiting human psychology to make more profit.
Still the platform are solutions, except the beyond limit recommendation system. And as users we should be able to aware of the problem and try to act accordingly.
