Hey everyone thanks for watching I didn't dig this one that much the developers last game All Star Fruit Racing I feel was a better game overall but I know this one will have some that dig it for what it is. I saw the switch version has severe issues performance wise I played this on PS4 which ran fine.
Hi thanks for the review - if you have any questions just let me know and I will be happy to reply here. We announced last week some free DLC of new tracks and cars which will be available from May 17th. This is only the first of 3 free DLC's. Switch has already received a couple of patches but with patch 4 the performance version will finally be available.
The graphics on my ps4 pro of this game are very bad even when i changed the setting to favor the graphics not the performance Very poor quality especially the crowds
As he said, the cars feel extremely heavy and stiff. Unless you're doing a drift the cars are barely responsive even with better handling mods equipped. Result you end up grinding against walls a LOT. The cars as so stiff that it actually takes awhile before it pulls away from the wall.
@@kropking Yeah, no. Cars are too stiff, relying on drifting to go around practically every corner is no good, and the tracks themselves are nothing to write home about. If someone is interested in racing games on the Switch they'd be better served by Shinen's Fast RMX.
@@RicochetForce Drifting is the focal point of the game here. You're supposed to drift. Like Ridge Racer. Also, I don't have a Switch. If I did, I would definitely get Fast RMX. That game looks great, but I play on PS4.
It's not very good that this is an unstable 30fps on PS4 but the far superior Ridge Racer 7 was 60fps 1080p on a PS3. The developers of Xenon Racer should have fit the graphics around a solid 60fps framerate which is essential for a racing game like this.
I just bought it on sale for $1.49. I haven't played it yet, but I don't think I will find any fault with the game for this price(but for the original price of $49....what a f**king joke!) 🤣
Also a word a of advise: If you've got multiple consoles, I'd say don't go for the Switch version as it has long load times (about 60 - 90 seconds roughly, I believe) and there's some frame rate lag I find. I hope they'll patch the Switch release soon so it feels more smoother and optimized.

Xenon Racer was 4 bucks for a couple days. The reviewer couldnt even play it properly. Dont take his review as a benchmark. I play this on PC and Xb1. While the console ports for previous non-enhanced consoles is a bit unoptimized, the pc port gets a solid 10/10 from me. Its all in there, the cars, the tracks, the music. Its a solid ridge racer reimagined racing game. Is it expensive? Debatable, especially compared to GRIP (which I love) which is a game that still has paid dlc in it. With Xenon Racer you get EVERYTHING, no more dlc nonsense, all additional content came out for free.
@@bonggzilla Yes, I know, most arcade style racers will work badly with a good wheel. You need a really arcadey feeling wheel to truly make them in any way enjoyable.
Hey by the way did you ever play ridge racer ? ... because if you did you might like the game more .. I guess this game is for Ridge Racer fans . But you did make some good points it does need more tracks and online needs to be fix 👍😎
With no disrespect meant all you needed to say early on is that it's a return to an arcade style game, which we haven't seen so much in year's... As most driving game's are your Forza type hybrid game's which trys to not be too much like a SIM racer & other's like Gran Turismo & many other's like that game are heavy on the Simulation but with the realistic feel of a driving in gaming environment... Picking the right car is a must do even in arcade based racing games or you'll end up eating tarmac & the side of walls & bushes if you don't pick a car that's the best one suited for that event or track, but you will no doubt lose speed for grip ala Ridge Racer style of game's... My only concern is this game is showing up as having a game file size of 3.75GB & that would suggest not much in the way of gaming content... Having games that aren't taking up 30 to 40 plus GB (& that's without dlc's & update patches) is a god send but you've got to wonder what a game with 3.57GB has to offer & it's not as if it's a cheap game either at £44.99/$56.82... It's on Sale now on PSN for £26.99/$34.08 & I still think this is a bit much for an unknown commodity in the gaming industry... If it was a company I knew then maybe but this just comes out of nowhere & wants a high asking price... I know it's not as expensive as other titles that are out but they're usually a higher price " because it is a well known developer " & they've usually got multiple versions of the game charged at different prices because of extra content but that extra content should be there in the first place instead of spoon feeding gamer's half a game thats usually not even working properly on its launch... I haven't seen any of the usual TH-cam Reviewers that are paid to do reviews like IGN but try to make out they're opinion hasn't been bought, (Yeah Right) hence why im looking at gamer's review uploads... Good review but as I said you might have added in sooner that this is an arcade style game, which many gamers are dying to play more of... As the racing gaming market is overpopulated with SIM Racers & a game were you just switch on & let rip on the accelerator arcade racer is what many are asking for, as you can pick them up & play quickly for 10 minutes or for a few hours... Basically a pick up and play & put down again racer were there's no real emphasis on anything except having a good bit of fun driving an arcade based game is what we or I need more of... ......
I picked this up , and as a fan of ridge racer I was exited to try this out. Its not a bad game but you can tell this is a budget game with a high price tag. When racing it can look like crap, and I am on the pro. It is the closest thig we have to a modern Ridge Racer so I will play it loads, but that high price tag does piss me off and it needs a patch to sort out AI and crappy textures at times.
Their last game All-Star Fruit Racer seems a bit more interesting to me though both because it's arcade like Mario Kart and also it reminds me of Sugar Rush.
I honestly feel you missed the mark on this one. It's actually very easy to control once you get the hang of it. I can run long races without ever hitting a wall, and of course, you have more fun when you're good at something.
