Just think...for all that energy, Cyndi was 51 when this performance was recorded. She's 70 now and still killing it.
Cyndi hasn’t gotten the recognition she deserves. She’s one of the greatest singers alive. She’s a living legend. She can still hit the high notes, just like back in the day. You should check out the live performance of Money Changes Everything. It’s one of her most memorable.
If Cyndi Lauper had only one song and Madonna had a thousand songs, I'd listen to Cyndi's one song a thousand times and Madonna's zero times. Thanks for discovering Cyndi and appreciating her!
I agree wholeheartedly.
💯
Indeed!
And we're not alone; there's a reason(s) for Cyndi being one of many great artists in We Are The World video whilest Madonna wasn't! Eh?
For sure!
Cyndi does such a wonderful job on “True Colors”, I could listen to her sing all day!
To me Cyndi Lauper was so underated!!!! She was so fun to watch!!! Unique vocal!❤❤❤
She is literally an American treasure, way underrated but loved by everyone, she's never on the top of anyone's list but when you hear her you're like "damn she's awesome and brings it every time
I love that Cyndi turns her back to the audience and becomes a conductor so that her musicians can shine and will get the grateful crowd’s full attention. I’m grateful for having discovered this with you today.
Let's not forget, Cyndi Lauper is also a Tony winner for Kinky Boots. I recommend watching her on the Kennedy Awards singing for Cher (Cher "You told me you were going to Los Angeles" Cyndi "I lied")
One of the greatest vocalists popular music has ever known. Underappreciated throughout her career, and I have no idea why. Seeing her live is a religious experience. Watch her do Money Changes Everything from this concert; you'll be speechless.
Cyndi's a force to be reckoned with. And adored!
As a young girl I listened to the She’s So Unusual cassette tape on my Walkman over and over. The songs still hold up after all these years and she is one of the artists that I appreciate more with time.
“Time After Time” is one of the best written tunes in that era
I love Cyndi Lauper. My favorite artie of the 80´s. What today is very normal in the pop music, before Cyndi Lauper there wasn´t. She´s so inusual is for me one of the best Cds that i have.
I haven't heard this song since I was a teen. It was on the radio every 10 min...but I'd totally forgotten about it
I was thinking the exact same thing.
This whole concert is amazing. growing up as a teenager during Cyndi's prime I was not a huge fan but as I have Aged gracefully her music hits different now
I saw her in concert when she opened for Cher. She was better than Cher, she went up into the audience, she sang one song where she held a note so long the whole place went silent. I loved her.
I saw that concert too! My mom took me for my birthday when I was 10.
I ❤ Cyndi. Her vocals are so underrated.
I saw her in concert when I was in high school 1986. Her concert was awesome. Eddie Money opened for her... This was my favorite song...
Loved Cyndi
True emotion in her music x
Cyndi has always been so underrated always! Also, that movie she was in with Jeff Goldblum was so bad it was good.
Vibes👌😊
I love watching her old interviews on Johnny Carson. She is a doll!
💖💖💖 Love Cyndi Lauper! Her video for "Time After Time" is great. She had her own hair-do when she just came out, it was kind of cute.
The shredding is incredible! Love her and her band.😊
I saw Cyndi in concert in 2000 when she was touring with Cher on her Believe tour and DUDE!! This lady can really sing. She sounds just as amazing live as she does on any studio recording. And yes, her energy is off the chart. Cyndi Lauper is an incredible performer.
Tremendous jam session with the guitar and fiddle - way to go Cyndi Lauper!! She's incredibly talented and surrounds herself with incredible musicians! Have you seen We Are the World? She's briefly in that epic recording, much younger. Great Reaction!
I think this is the first time I've seen her with natural-looking hair color.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun .. she spoke for us
She is no spring chicken either. Meaning she is getting on up there in age and still moves and performs as she did when she was young.
70 years young
Sebs, you should check out her 11th album Memphis Blues. It was a great blues album with help from some very good blues masters like B.B. King, Charlie Musselwhite, and Allen Toussaint. She's 70 years old now.
You may remember her from the USA For Africa "We Are The World" video (orange/yellow hair)
❤❤❤
Great find. I have never seen this one.
Her early music was and still is iconic. What I love best is how amazing she is Live. She doesn't need a studio to make her sound good. Please check out more of her music :)
Cyndi is ROCKKKKK!!!❤❤❤
Check out her concert ‘Cindi Lauper Live in Paris’ from 1987, awesome live show. Completely different lineup but she always surrounds herself with great musicians. The 1987 show included 70s guitar icon Rick Derringer on guitar.
And a keyboard player from Rainbow. What a great performance it was.
Indeed, I’d forgotten that. I really liked the lady on percussion, she was the star of the show for me, apart from Cindi of course.
Sue Hadjopoulos
Let's make this short and quick.....AS A GEN X BABY, THERE ARE VERY FEW 80'S (THE GREATEST TIME IN MUSIC) ARTISTS THAT MET THE PURE TALENT AND RAW INTENSITY OF CYNDI L!
PURE ICON 💚
Cindy is awesome! Great reaction! More please! ✌💙
She's amazing!!!!! Greetings from Brazil!
I've never heard this one..check out her early years..wonderfully fun!
She is so fun to watch love her music.
Cyndi Lauper has a 5 octive vioce. She can literally sing the highest and lowest parts in an opera. Sick talent
CYNDI IS GENIAL..I LOVE !! Jones from Parnaiba (Brazil)
what also makes her a great performer is that she gives the spotlight to her band as well. Her first concert recorded for official VHS release (no DVD's yet) was in 1987; showcasing the True Colors album and of course She's So Unusual ... talk about energy and singing. Madonna gets a lot of credit and exposure for being a mega trendsetter and influencer for women in music, her fans seem to or like to ignore the fact that Cyndi was also just as heavy in influence and setting trends for generations. Rather than request another Cyndi video/performance - I will request that you take a deep dive into her catalog - go beyond the 80's. She's not just pop, she knows how to rock like the rest of 'em.
I've been a fan of Cyndi Lauper since "She's So Unusual" It's hard to image she lost her voice before her debut. This is from her "At Last" dvd concert.I recommend watching all of it. I love her version of "I Drove All Nite" on this dvd.
Got to admit that I was smitten by Cyndi when I first discovered her music via her first band "Blue Angel" then her solo work. So talented.
ALSO: Kat played with Prince.
I watched Cyndi for the first time here in Japan before the Covid although she rearrange some songs to acoustic her voice is still amazing!!
She has a unique vocals! I Love Cyndi❤️❤️❤️
Her cover of "Walk On By" is amazing.
Saw Cyndi in concert twice. She puts on an amazing show! She also plays a ton of instruments herself.
I looked and I haven't seen where you have done USA for Africa We Are the World is really one you should check out I think it will blow your mind
Time after time is my favorite Cindy song.
Boy blue...
Live on Paris 1987 is madness
She is a brilliant singer songwriter…one of the best ever.
You MUST react more to Cyndi, she is amazing. Met her several times and she is a sweetheart. Love Cyndi ❤ Song suggestions.. Sally Pigeons, At Last, Who Let In the Rain
Can only imagine how good that would have been in person!
She has never lost her voice, and she has a 4 octive range.
❤ Cyndi Lauper! Love the Gualmar t !
The guitarist is Kat Dyson. She's been a regular on Cyndi's tours.
This version is off the charts!
This is Cyndi Lauper at 70!!!
Cyndi is an American National Treasure! That's how good she is!
On the original "Change of Heart" track, Cyndi brought in The Bangles as the backing vocals. Also had Nile Rodgers (Le Chic) on guitars.
She competed with Madonna at the time but now we can look back and just love them both for all their talents.
The live version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun with Shaggy is a blast too.
She made a few appearances on the Johnny Carson tonight show! She was amazing 🤩
Cyndi is amazing. I think she is the only artist who i had cassette tape albums of back in the day which i actually bought all the albums again on cds when they came out.
Thank you for a great reaction! I love that you seek out positive role models for your girls!
Great song!!! More Cyndi please! ♥
I got to see her open for Cher on the Believe tour. She kills it live.
More please! She’s fantastic.
That was awesome!
Just when I thought I'd heard of a bunch Cyndi... THIS BLEW MY MIND!!!!!!
I love the live version on the Johnny Carson show in Cyndi’s hey day.
You must listen True Colors, Money Changes Everything, She Bop, Time After Time, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, I Drove All Night, she's an amazing singer.
Cyndi is just AMAZING artist
She is so awesome
Ive seen Cyndi Lauper live , she can sing quite a talent
The writer of Kinky Boots!
Love her ! And she is not a young woman! Incredible! 💕💕💕💕💕
Cyndi was 50 years old here!!!
Thank you!. I am a long time fan of Cyndi but had not seen this video. Wow. Yes, Cyndi is weird in the best way!
Kat Dyson used to play guitar with Prince. She is fantastic. 💜💜
Dude - LOVE your reactions and love of music!!! You really have to react to The Animals - House of The Rising Sun. This song was recorded in one take in the 1960s! They drove from their home in Northern England to London, got their instruments out, went in a studio, recorded it and left. Studio rentals are expensive. If you are unknown, you hit it and get out. "I've got one foot on the platform, the other foot on the train. I'm going back to New Orleans to wear that ball and chain". Anybody who has ever been addicted to anything or fallen off a diet knows that feeling - the addition being stronger than you. Eric Burdon's voice was amazing. Also, please experience The Righteous Brothers - I Just Wanna Make Love to You - OMG!!!!!
When everyone was a Madonna fan, I was a Cindy Lauper and Blondie fan.
If I remember rightly, NIle Rogers played on and produced the orginal.
She's awesome.
more and more cyndi, sinead o´connor, rush, alanis morrissette
the first thing I heaerd from her was, "Girld just want to have fun. and it was our anthem in our neighborhood.
Hi from UK. Have you tried Sade - By Your Side. I think you'll appreciate her.
Check out her live version of "Money Changes Everything".
I love Cindy
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE MOVIE 'VIBES' WITH HER IN IT. IT TAKES PLACES IN SOUTH AMERICA.
She was 64/65 while doing this one - th-cam.com/video/quMSK1Q0sN0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zunA_lG3jKDAi1QP
Love this. One of the best Kennedy center honors performances
in the "we are the world. "video, she was the one with the bangles.
Love her!
She is so awesome and it's not all about her. She showcases the whole band
She does a killer version of At Last, really beautiful
Cyndi Lauper and Dolly Parton are two great American heroes.
Check out her live performance to Cher at The Kennedy Center Awards!
Just saw your channel. I saw your Devil went down to georgia reaction. If you want to see another crazy performance you should react to Roy Clark. Manequana. You will be astonished at the speed of his playing. It is crazy.
If you're looking to include Cyndi as a possible role model for your daughters, don't forget to include the fact that she was *50 years old* when she shot this video. Your daughters can be anything that they want to be, _at any age they decide to do so_ and Cyndi is the living example of this.
I'm sorry you never had heard Cyndi's songs. Try her master piece, the Hat Full of Stars album! She is amazing. A Muse!
Next I drove all Night from the same Concert
