I'm at 1500 hour flight engineer. Nice video but your landing actually got me a bit upset. Like it actually ellicited an uncomfortable emotion! Lol. Thanks for showing it
I was stationed at Ft. Knox as well. Ft. KnoX was once a basic training that was known as OSUT one station unit training. I was there in 2006 when I graduated Armor school. Fox company 2/81. The school was also known as the school of Armor. I was a 19kilo Armor crewman. After knox I PCSd to camp Casey 1/72 Armor. I sometimes but almost miss being on active duty miss my army life.
This is great to see in MSFS 2024. But I think they need to do what Casmo said and add the option to do missions in free flight. Imagine being able to do cargo runs in this….
That noise isn't the hydraulics, it's the transmissions. I think Miltech nailed the blade slap, this was noticeably absent when you turned hard to land.
I think the sounds and rotor blur is much nicer on the Blackbird 47D than the Miltech 47D. Be cool if Miltech would update their 47D with these features. Texture-wise, I think Miltech did a better job with that
I fly around Fort Carson doing tactical landings at BUD's field like how I used to see the Air force cats do with the C130's when I was out in the field.
I worked on the F models when I was at Campbell. Dco 7/101. Boeing had just “handed us the keys” and we all got a challenge coin during that ceremony. She's a beautiful bird.
You may need to go to your library in the marketplace and install from there other than that Im not sure. Never ran into that issue. That would be the only way I can think of
When you started #2 engine it was already running looking at the instruments, strange they both started at the same time and that’s not the sound of hydraulics taking the strain it’s the engines…….if you can hear the hydraulics in flight you’ve got a problem
Yea I was thinking that engine 2 already started but I wasnt completely sure. Ok I was sure what the whining noise was. I that it could have been the hydraulic pumps... but thank you for the additional information
Your crew chief and flight engineer didn’t seemed concerned about the #2 engine. They never even looked at the right side during engine start. Also, when you turned around in your parking space, they stood in the way with the forward rotor coming at them at or near head level. Great video though, really brought me back to my flight crew days.

@ Thanks for reply. I literally have no hardware or software. What kind of PC would I need? Also monitor and some kind of Joystick and then the software? I guess some kind of fast internet is handy too? I get 70mbs at home but travel alot so is there a laptop that could handle this?
Yes, we practiced run-on landings often, simulating an engine-out condition. We land at around 60 knots like that. It's my favorite way to land the Chinook.
It would be cool if you could do a Presidential mission of a transfer between Marine One from the White House to Andrews AFB to then get on Air Force One and fly POTUS somewhere.
@ true however DCS terrain has far more detail which you need for helicopter flying as most is low level. But more importantly im not prepared to trade away the most important parts of a “simulation” ie it flies like the real one, similar systems, ability to conduct real operations in a combat zone or training for some extra “freedom”. Everyone has different expectations i expect a simulation to simulate nit be a generic flight model thats nothing at all like the real aircraft. Thats me though plenty of people are happy with generic power to them.
It is almost impossible to get any aircraft to work 100% like the real aircraft especially as classified as the Chinook is. But they can get it close. Ive talked with Chinook pilots and some really like the Miltech Chinook for MSFS. The Blackbird Chinook isnt as good for sure.
Still the same arcade as the previous FS20, maybe even a little worse... the talk from the developers is again out of place like in other things. It can be compared to GTA with nicer graphics :D If you are interested in a helicopter simulation, DCS World is the most similar. Have a nice day everyone :)

I'm a retired Army Chinook pilot. She was a blast to fly.
Im sure she was... Im very jealous. All I did was ride in it in Afghanistan

Always a blast to ride in the back!
The workhorse! My favorite version of these are the MH models used by the 160th SOAR. Best pilots in the world!!
Gods gift to rotary wing flight. Most badass thing in the air.
Man, the memory of my first time boarding a CH-47. The jetwash from those engines is insane.
Man I know what you mean... I remember hot loading and getting pelted with rocks and sand when I was in Afghanistan
I used to stand in the exhaust in Alaska to warm up

Yea Miltechd Chinook is better hoping they update it for 2024
FT knox is now a admin base. All scout and tank training is at Fort Benning. Now
It certainly has had a lot of development in the 53 years since I was stationed there.
Is it called Fort Moore now?

I dont know if you saw but I posted video with Miltech Chinook in MSFS 2024. I think it so much better. Flies better too.. but my opinion
I fly around Fort Carson doing tactical landings at BUD's field like how I used to see the Air force cats do with the C130's when I was out in the field.
Nice thats cool!!
Wow, that was very cool from that perspective! I was never in the Army. Retired Navy here. Were you an officer in the Army?
No I was just an E5 when I got out.
Hello from Germany,Bavaria I like you videos very nice content bro
Thank you very much I greatly appreciate the compliment
65 years of CH-47 in 2026.
Nice and I dont see it going away anytime soon. Still has a bunch of classified stats too
@@StevesSimStation we got the F model in DCS...
भाड़ में जाओ, भाड़ में जाओ
Something is missing in the flight model. It's not DCS.
wish they would have given us the "F" model with glass gauges or Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) instead of the "D" with analog.
The D model is still a great helicopter, though.
I worked on the F models when I was at Campbell. Dco 7/101. Boeing had just “handed us the keys” and we all got a challenge coin during that ceremony. She's a beautiful bird.
Aaaaaah yea! Take a little trip from Ghazni to Bahgram!
Hey steve, I am Tom. Question. I bought the aviator edition but i only have the 70 planes from the standart version…. Do you now why or how to fix it?

The ENG Condition Levers were still set to GND... 😂 unless there was a ninja edit. Weird the checklist didn't include bringing them to fly
Lmao omg you're right!!! I'm an idiot for not seeing that... gotta love TH-cam vision! Lmao
@@StevesSimStation lol!! I'm just surprised it flew that well with the engines at idle. Stronk!! 😆
@caman1989 i kno!! Im now surprised lol

Others have pointed that one... probably a bug
I used to be a Uh-60 Crew Chief. Spent some time in the Afghan too.
Thats awesome. Thank you for your service!
I am now, got 5 more years. So far so good from the islands. ;)
Words on the panel are clear..
Are the words in the pad clearly visible?!
@@stephenvictor-y8f yes....
@@StevesSimStation Thanks for solving my doubt..
You are flying excellently ✈🚁
@stephenvictor-y8f you're welcome and thank you
Did he ever set the condition levers to "Flight"? :P
I didn't 😅 someone else pointed that out that missed that but strangely it flew still
@@StevesSimStation Yeah, I was amazed by that fact, too. Seems like a bug to me.
Btw, I just subscribed. I like your laid-back attitude. :)
I appreciate the support, and this is a real chill channel
can we use this in missions (rescue/cargo drop/etc) ?
Idk didn't really look yet
Does this mean that the marketplace is finally up ?
No... this came with Premium Deluxe version
Nope, it's Godman Army Airfield. I worked in the hangar there 1969-71. After a year in the Mekong Delta with 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cav.
Thank you for your service
What do I need to buy to be able to play this?
Im not sure if you already have MSFS24 you may have to wait till the marketplace it opens to see about upgrading your version

My brother trained at fort knox for cav scout. Bradley driver gunner
Thank cool!
Dunno what I did wrong. MSFS 2024 is not seeing the ch47 in my community folder.
The Chinook I was using was not put in through the Community Folder. It was already in the game but with the Premium Deluxe edition
You could actually land this on a runway with some airspeed like a normal plane?

I’ve got no audio when I use it same with the 737 Max,A400M, Skycrane and some others
Its a bug... I've only ran into thst audio bug once
Chinook helicopter is back.
Yes it is! But its not the Miltech version
For know I did OSUT there as a scout in 04
How do you get the chinook?
Its in the premium deluxe version of MSFS 2024
if you do not have premium version of the game you can get it when market place opens

A quick flight in the DCS Chinook shows just how poor this one is..one and done.
Again DCS has limitations too... can't fly anywhere in the world

How do you lock the cAMERA?
Youd have to go to setti as to see what your lock set to
