For a descend always take the actual altitude for example 20000 ft and you need to descend to 5000 ft at point XY, that’s a difference of 15000 ft…now you calculate 15 x 3 = 45. You need to start your descend 45 NM before in order to reach your 5000 ft at point XY with a 3° descend angle which is most common in commercial aviation. To descend with a 3° angle you take your GS*5 (or GS/2*10) and you got your ft/min.
Hey, great video! Just a quick tip, there’s a button on the autopilot labeled Bank. (Bank mode) If you turn it on, the plane won’t roll as aggressively. It’s handy for medical transport or even pax missions to keep things smooth for the patient or pax. Keep it up, loving your videos man!
Really enjoying your videos mate! I'm playing mostly SAR myself but your videos are getting me curious to try the other missions too :). Also, you have a very pleasant voice to listen to.
It’s a great plane. The payware Kodiak feels like a step up if you like this kind of flying. I was lucky enough to fly in Kenya sitting directly behind the pilot in a caravan and it was amazing .
The hospital equipment is pretty accurate, those red machines that sit above the patients are about $30,000 each. Having worked in the field with $12~13 Million dollar aircraft, the medical fit out brings the initial build out to $16~20 million dollars, for a twin turbo prop. The pc12 for example costs sooo much more.
With regards to what you mentioned at around the 12 minute mark, post everything you have!! I’ve only just stumbled upon your channel but I’m loving the MSFS24 videos and I’m sure you can see with the views others are too! Your channel is going to blow up soon, the quality of your videos are incredible for someone with only 34k subscribers!
Thank you! And once I get a first mission down there I'll certainly head there! As for 2K/4K I don't have anything above 1080p at the moment but possibly in the future!
Hey Cow, New subscriber here! I found your channel a few days back and absolutely love your content. Keep up the amazing work, you make really refreshing content. Thank you!
Enjoying the series!!! Just dumped the coin on ja honeycomb yoke and throttle quadrant. It turns up. tomorrow. Already have a headsetl so ready to play :)
The challenge of Medical Transport is heading into places with little time for planning. A typical corporate pilot has time to plan for trips. A fixed wing medical pilot is sometimes en route to one location and diverted mid-flight to another location. Imagine flying from Denver to Telluride then being diverted mid flight to Aspen with weather in the area. I spoke with a pilot years ago the was flying from DC to Ohio with winter weather in the area. Mid-flight they were diverted to KC which was on the backside of the front and forecasted severe thunderstorms. They were flying a King Air 350. Hopefully the career mode will build that element in this section. The other benefit these pilots have is that while the medical team is fetching the patient, they often have time to find out what kind of good food is available in the area. The would be a hell of a door dash if you wanted to include that into flights🙂
I’m interested to see if that can happen too as it is live weather during these mission so it’s possible! But if not, maybe as this feature evolves over the years we can things like that going!
@@CowTown That is just fixed wing. 1/3-1/2 of the flights rotary wing pilots tend to be planned on the fly & to locations that are generally not pre-defined.
I live on the mountain side opposite this runway in Courchevel, I live in a ski resort called La Plagne (which you flew over aha), there was actually quite a big crash last winter with a landing at this runway, they overshot it and ploughed into the snow breaking the propeller and slightly injuring the pilot. It's a stunning runway and location for a Altiport
@@CowTown yeah it's fuj to watch and i learn something. And the quality of editing and footage is great and diverse. So happy to be at the beginning of this big channel 😁
As an unrelated tidbit, I was struggling with the insane amount of wind ragdolling my Skyhawk up in Homer Alaska. So I googled where in the US has the lowest average windspeed, and no crap, it's right where I live in Oak Ridge Tennessee. Small world. So I started Career over in Knoxville and it is so much better.
Wind has been my biggest issue with career mode. I would say that in real life my planes would not be allowed to fly with the amount of wind the game is generating.
I watch a lot of atc interaction videos and I've yet to hear someone say 'tree' or 'fife'. lol Another good video, thanks!! 17:36 Maybe cuz you kept laughing when talking about flying smooth. 😂🤷♂ lol
Love your videoes, they are very simple but very entertaining and the information I get out of it (Because I am a new pilot) is really nice for me. But keep it up :)
I would love to be flying those missions on my career, but my gtx 1650 can't get it to a satisfactory level. I am still in love and amazed by msfs2020 every day that I fly on it, I think I can wait sometime before an upgrade.
You’re making great content! I’m really enjoying it! If I were you I’d do a mix of both but I’d do more missions and sprinkle in a certification here and there. Just my opinion…
Great Video. Would love to see more, I haven't bought it yet I am waiting to see how others get on. I will need a new PC so gathering info on best GPU and CPU setup. What are you running FS2024 on and was that in Ultra?
You’ll want to go into control settings and set up a key bind for “Toggle Visual Assistances Display” and that’ll do it! Or if you have an Xbox Controller, it’s clicking in the left stick to get rid of it default 🙂
are you using a keyboard to fly in MSFS 2024? I think you are, maybe in 30 years we will get hand tracking to reach out and flip switches, the steering yoke is good to have on your desk.
I’ve been looking all over in the settings, how do you access the top in flight menu (I’m not sure what it’s called) but it was in 2020 by default and allowed you to access checklists and camera ATC etc…
What! They let you land at the proper airport! They had me go halfway but the guy was in too much pain so i had to circle back and land where we came from. Fun runway to land on tho
Losing reputation like that is insane. I had the same thing, where my game crashed and after 20 minutes of loading it showed me I went from A (almost at S) to half-way of C class. I really hope they fix the bugs in career mode soon.
@CowTown It's an awesome game. I'm just under the impression they rushed to release it as it has 2024 in the title. I'm sure it'll get better over the next few months. MSFS 2020 also had issues at launch and that one worked out just fine as well.
I’ve just done my Turboprop rating cert and the Caravan that I was flying would move even with no throttle, I’d have to try and turn the prop speed down but that didn’t work. Any thoughts please?
Is it possible to do these career mode missions in a more simulation manner? I mean, taking control of all the aircraft, radio communication, autopilot, etc.? In other words, without the tips that show on the upper right side of the screen? For example, on this video the aircraft startup was done by just pressing a button. Is it possible to do manually?
