Go with cutting-ring head gasket on e30. I have one on my e36 m3 and it's has held up well for 12 years now perfectly.
That's what I'm doing, just have to figure out what thickness I need.

put the hood back on the E30, it'll get it out of the garage and you are gonna have water pool up on the cover in the engine way area without it.

The Porsche is a cool new project. Never seen anyone tear one of these apart.
Question about the E36 though, any issues with the ABS setup. I'm doing the exact same and everyone just wants to tell me I'm gonna regret not relocating it. How's the spark plug access?
No issues with my pump yet. I simply didn't move it because the kits they make move it up front and it looks ugly.
The struggle of too many simultaneous projects. Get a twister wheel and spin it to see which project or vehicle must go.
I know which vehicle I'm leaning towards letting go!

Matt, the e30 cover looks good quality, but do try to air dry over rainy days and don't leave the cover on over the engine too long. Will attract rodents and pests...then they will bite your wires. Happened to me.

You might want to take the plastic off the E30..... the trapped moisture won't do it any good.

@@matt13ross Like the "plastic heavy duty car cover" is an upgrade? Heat and moisture will ruin paint and will rust beneath the primer. Rob Siegel (The Hack Mechanic) tried the same thing you just did on a Z3 and a Lotus (for like two days) with a bad outcome.
I removed all the plastic I had on there but added the car cover. So far, it’s 100% waterproof. I’m hoping it won’t be out there too long.

Congrats, now you can put a BMW engine in this and build it like you should have from the beginning. I told you this was stupid months ago, as did many others. Stop LSing shit that already has a better engine from the factory.
Not sure how a 240hp S50 is better than a 410whp LS1 so......
I don't think it's stupid, and that's all that matters.
@@matt13ross the i6 has always been a platform for more efficient power delivery than any v. It also has better balance. You can easily build the m50 or s50 to 1000hp and the car will still feel right.
Nope, had a boosted built S50 in here with 670whp. Too much power for these chassis. It took away the fun of driving (other than straight roads). And it was less reliable, more complex, had big turbo lag, etc.
