I would love for someone to make a monster movie now and use rubber monsters.

It's a TV movie so I don't know if you'd review it, but back around 1993 there was a movie/pilot for a Journey To the Center of the Earth TV show. I had it on VHS tape and watched it tons of times. I remember that there was a drilling machine, a hot girl in a midriff-baring outfit, and the main character's father was a villain who died but then got hooked up to Lord Zedd-style tubing machinery. It would be a perfect fit for your reviews if you can find a copy.

The screenplay was written by a British guy about the same time Jeremy Thorpe was head of the British Liberal Party and the film came out the month after Thorpe allegedly hired a hit man to murder his secret Gay lover to cover up their affair and got kicked out the British Liberal Party. The relationship between David and Abner is obviously the only one that the screenwriter had any personal interest in contrary to Edgar Rice Burroughs. I imagine we can all guess why and how that screenwriter got his job.

Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote an entire series of books in Pellucidar, aka the Earth's Core, one of which is a Tarzan crossover novel. This idiotic movie does a poor job of adapting the first novel, and the book set it up for a sequel where Our Hero was intending to come back for the girl after picking up some modern weapons on the surface - hence the kind of bizarre ending to the film, which never got a sequel.

I would fight for Caroline Munro! I would also watch anything that she is in.

Love the Star Trek reference. As a kid when I saw this movie, watched Star Trek:The Menagerie a month later. The purple sky of Pellucidor and the fight between Doug Mclure’s character and that big guy reminds me of the Rigel 7 scene from Star Trek. Caroline Munro reminds me of the main female character from the Star Trek episode, Private Little War

Caroline Munro does look gorgeous, and after watching Peter Cushing as either a vampire hunter or mad scientist, it's nice to see him as goofy professor for a change.
