Red Seal $5 Dollar Bill Complete Guide - What Is It Worth And Why?

  • A relatively newer series coming to the channel, this video seeks to provide a complete overview of the small size Red Seal 5 Dollar Bills - everything from what they are worth to how many series' there were to star notes and uncirculated or circulated values and information. We'll start with an introduction and move to a presentation on the 1928 Red Seal 5 Dollar Bill, 1953 Red Seal 5 Dollar Bill, and 1963 Red Seal 5 Dollar Bill. There are some series runs with very valuable star notes and others that are significantly more common, so it pays to be informed and know what to be on the look out for if you are bill searching, bank strap hunting, currency hunting, or anything of that nature. The information is also good for casual banknote and currency fans as well.

Being offered is a $5 dollar bill with multiple stained errors.
On the left of Lincoln’s forehead commencing at the top border there is a curved line all the way to Lincoln’s nose.
There are other thicker lines from the top border in a zig zag path ending at the top of the White House. There is a winged eagle ( bald?) beginning at the right side of Lincoln’s head and going through the SEAL and ending at the “S”of “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”
On the left side of Lincoln there is an error line from a * adjacent to the left SEAL and ending at the beginning of Lincoln’s shoulder there is another dark ink stain between two stars across from the SEAL
Turning now to the left side of Lincoln’s face there is a line from a star across from the SEAL and also a small dark ink stained residue from a star across from Lincoln’s face.
But here is the holy grail of errors. On the far left is a HUGE 1 inch horizontal and vertical error the likes of which I have never seen on a $5 bill and culminating on the left border.
The reverse also has numerous lines and stains on the border and angled to the left and right of the White House.
Creased down the middle and used but surprisingly Lincoln’s face shows no fading.
    $4,500 OBO

Often eBay is a good way to gauge the market... however often the newer star notes (even if they're rare) don't command too much over face value. But, if you have a rare serial number (like 00000432 Star for example) then you might have something good with a star note attached.

1928E $5 Legal tender red seals can be worth on average $10 to $25 depending on condition and serial number block. Higher grade examples can be worth $50 to $100, and more if they're graded Uncirculated by a 3rd party grading service, like PMG.

What's the difference between a United States Note and a Federal Reserve Note?
One is debt free, the other is not.
One (US Note) doesn't cause the United States government to implement new and/or raise existing taxes to pay off the debt as they are created and issued debt free and the other does exactly the opposite.
The Federal Reserve did not like United States Notes and had them removed from circulation, has bought every single politician in ALL the States AND the Federal government.
And if you are foolish enough to think that a government indebted to a private banking cartel in the amount of an admitted 30 trillion "dollars" somehow represents your interest over theirs, then I have some ocean front property on the moon you might be interested in.
The Federal Reserve is the most evil institution ever created by the hand of man.
