I live in Canada, and always wanted a 2 dollar bill. I would go to my local currency exchange every now and then to see if they had one, and eventually they did. I was most pleased to find it to be a 1963 red seal. So Cool!

Actually it's partially coincidental - this was the video I was making when that story came out, but I wasn't able to finish it right away. Meanwhile I saw the article, had a ton more views on other videos on my channel, and I knew I had to get this one up while that article was syndicating its way around. Probably got it done a few days later than I wanted.
I appreciate this video. I keep at least $40 worth of two’s in my wallet.. I got some Red Seal 1963, $2’s hidden and I’m guessing they are low grade of 40-45 on condition I found a very used Red Seal $2, badly used. Yet I don’t know if I’ll get to find mint condition 1800’s $2.00 bills to get a few grand.. Nice to dream! Respectfully, Your Central Texas $2.00 Friend.

i had fun with some 2$ bills the other day i took out 7,500$ from my bank in cash and had my bank put 1k of 2$ bills in the paper sack. and i went to my credit union to pay off my credit card that had a lot of medical debt and the teller asked how much was in the sack i sad it's 7,500$ in mixed cash to pay off my credit card . and the teller and another teller walks over to the other side of the bank to cash counter . and when they were counting out the cash and got to the 2$ bills all i hear the teller's yell out he's paying off his credit card with 2$ bills . and main teller comes back to me in total shock and i'm standing there chuckling and the teller was like ok you got me. it made me feel better about paying the medical debt off. as the 1k In 2$ shock entertainment was priceless.

@barbaranymiel3089 it was medical debt shoved on my credit card during covid. But I was able to pay it off with cash.the entertainment value made me feel better about paying it off.

I have two $2 bills. One from 1976 and thenother 1995.
I had a 1953 $2 bill and wanted to see if it was of any value so i went to the library and found a book, opened it up and a 1928 $2 bill slid out.
What condition are they both in?

I've got at least a couple hundred dollars in $2 bills. Quite a few are pristine condition, and sequential, about half, the rest are worn, folded, and dirty. Have 5 1953, and one 1963 red seals also. Fair to good condition.
Sounds good. Some people will pay more than face value for sequential pristine bills. I often make 15-20% on those. Your red seals could get $7-$10 each as well. That's if you ever want to sell any of them. The worn bills... just spend them.
I get two bundles of twos once a month to put up there uncirculated and serial numbers in order
I have two red inked $2 bills, one dated 1963, and one dated 1953 (that one in less than stellar condition), but neither of them have the Series mark on them in the left corner.

I recently got a $2 red seal star note bill (1953 series B) from my bank last week. It has a couple of folds in it, but it's in excellent condition. I'm surprised one of the tellers didn't snag it.

Hi, I from Malaysia. Just curious to know about the 2 dollar bill at the left side, why the printing is Federal Reserve Bank of New York, New York or Bank of San Francisco California or Bank of Dallas Texas. It is US Dollar are printed by own state?
There are 12 district banks in the U.S., and when money is printed, it is usually for a particular region or regions that are low on supply of that denomination. So look at any piece of currency, see the district letter on the left and the city, and you'll know which Federal Reserve Bank was given that money to distribute to the banks in its region.

I have a few questions. First, why is the 10 bill orange and not green? Second, why is the bolded number on the back of the 5 bill purple and not just green like the rest. Third, why are some portraits of the person on the bill in a frame and some not, thank you.
Those are great questions, even though this channel focuses mostly on the $2 bill. I will research it and try to answer those questions in a future video.

What website do I go to in order to see if my 2 dollar bills are worth something?
You can try Greysheet. You need a subscription, but I think you get 10 free price-looks, so if you just want to look up one or two bills, that's a collector guideline to currency values. If you think you have something really valuable, take it directly to a local coin & currency dealer. But if it's a green treasury seal bill from 1976 or later, it's most likely worth $2. Finally, you can check sold comps on eBay to see what people are paying, because what a bill is worth really comes down to what you can get for it.

I have roughy 25 maybe 30 $2 Red seal bills. I think 2 of them have stars. They are all from the 50's and 60's. Probably 5 of them have margin errors, and I think 2 or 3 look double printed. It's not easy finding out their value. I wish you were my neighbor 😊

Curious. Any added value for a $2 bill from 1976 that has a liberty bell stamp attached to it?
Yes... potentially. Does it have a postal cancellation stamp as well, with a date? If so, and if it's April 13, 1976, you have a bona fide first day issue, stamped on the day the bill was released, making it valuable to many. If it just has a random stamp on it like a regular piece of mail, someone has ruined that bill.

I have 40 two dollar bills now. They're all 1976. Must be the most common.
People think the 1976s are the most rare because they're the oldest of the green-treasury-seal bills. But there were 400 million printed in that run, and no other run has come close to that. So yes, the 1976s are the most common even though many people stuffed theirs in a sock drawer for safe keeping.

I am british. I visited the us when i was 9 for an interracial marriage. The groom (other side) and me were having a conversation about america and then we got to money. He gave me a MINT 1973 $2 bill that i still have today. Pretty cool, huh. Ans i know that i wont spend it cause the queen is on our notes, not jefferson (sorry)
I'm confused...there is no 1973 US $2 bill, so what country was the bill you received from? I guess Canadian because the queen is on it. They've obviously discontinued those because they now use the toonie coin.

It's probably gonna be worth $2 still. Just like a $5 bill is gonna be worth $5. People think the $2 bill is more rare, but it really isn't. The only thing that adds value is what's described in this video.

Green seal?
No bill in 1789. At least not a Federally-issued bill. You probably have what's called a broken bank note, and it would have great value. Take it to a local coin & currency dealer for an assessment. The 2017 bill falls into the group of green seal bills described in this video. Worth $2 unless it grades at a 63 or higher or has a fancy serial number or error.
