- I put the Canon R7 against the R6 in Clog 3 to see who has the best dynamic range and I was shocked to find in my testing it was the R7. This changes everything when it comes to what I may bring on a shoot.

Wow I'm loving your comparison reviews, I think it's the best way to understand how good is the R7. I've been checking this channel every day eheh
But that difference is soo big, even the colors, I'm intrigued if it could be because of the R7 angle getting more window light, but still doesn't justify, and the autofocus fail...
For content suggestions I would love to see a 4k60p (cinematic style) comparison to the R6, specially to understand if that line-skipping is really that much bad. Also a comparison for bookeh would be really interesting in order to see how much of difference that the sensor size does to the DoF (since for low light and dynamic range has been pretty close)
(And eventually a test with a speedbooster would quite interesting as well!)

I appreciate your comments. I just picked up a speedbooster and I have the tamron 35-150 2.8-4 coming tomorrow. With speed booster it should be a 2-2.8 which I'm eager to test out. Tamron stopped making them so I decided to pick up a used copy.
I’m loving your videos. I had a Canon M6 MK ii for TH-cam and light photography use. When they announced the R7 I was drooling for it but I waited too long and there’s no telling when it get my hands on one. Convinced that I’m moving on to a R body, I bought the R6 2 wells ago. I’m in love with it. Meanwhile my brother who has been a Nikon shooter for 15 years, ordered the R7. The R6 is blowing my mind coming from the M6 but looking at your videos, maybe I’ll pick up a R7 down the road as a B cam. Maybe A cam. I spot a lot of cinematic style stuff so I like a little softer image but even the 32mp in the M6 is really sharp. Almost too sharp out the camera but gives me room to play in post. Awesome content.

The r6 had more brighter background, look at the white sky in each. So this test is unfair.
The white sky has nothing to do with the shadows on the face though and that's where I'm seeing the dynamic range difference between the 2 cameras. Both these cameras were set to the exact same settings

i think the R6 is kinda overexposed compared to the R7
the R7 should've been set at F2.8 to match the F4.5 of the R6
Could you test the rolling shutter performance in 4k fine and 60p on the camera?
That would be an excellent test. There is definitely rolling shutter but it would be interesting how severe in each mode.

Hi what lens would you get for the R7 for real estate work
15-35 or 14-35 are excellent. Inuse the 15-35. If you are on a tighter budget the samyang 14mm is amazing. I did a videoconferencing that one a couple yrs agonif you want to check it out.
When I have used super wide lenses, I have the Tamron 15-30, I have felt that they give a little more dynamic range than the 24-70, maybe because of the curved shape of the lens, I don't know, but the skies always look better . However, the good result of the R7 is surprising despite being a cheaper camera. Now I don't like the mid-orange skin tone, I feel like the R6 looks more natural.
I'll have to do more testing. Either way this camera is impressing me.
Strange. The R6 looks softer overall, as if it's not focused, but it's not that, because it's across the image. Reds seem to be very subdued. Especially in the t-shirt. Although the R7 seems to boost oranges too much. I think the LUT may be to blame for that though. Skin tones look less natural on R7. Would like to see photo comparisons with high ISO. Thanks for the comparison. Waiting for my R7
R7 is sharper and I'm pretty sure it's because of the fine mode down sampling 7k to 4k where the r6 does not have that. The R5 offers down sampling 8k to 4k which I here is very nice too. After 3 weeks with the R7 I prefer the video over the R6. This may change after more testing.
@@JaredHoyman Yes, I realised after posting it was because of the pixel density down sampling. R6 is only 20mps. Canon really have pulled out all the stops with the R7 in terms of video capability and other modes. It would be really cool if we have an R6ii come out which can do the latest things the R7 does. The only thing I don't like about R7 is it's not full frame. But the R6 has too many limits for my liking and the R5 is well out of my budget, and also has limits.
Is the dynamic range in the R10 good?
I'm not familiar with the R10, so I'm not able to tell you.
hhmm surprised and you have some facts to prove it - thanks. I do have an R6 and A7IV for video. Wish the R6 had more video options and now the R7 has Custom C1-C3 options and also Shutter speed priority in video mode. Too bad the Canon still doesn't offer metering modes in Video or keep the histogram on screen during recording. Might get an R7 to play around with. How is the video ibis wobble at wide angle. The R6 is terrible more so than my Sony.
R7bwobble appears to be much better for IBIS. The customization on the R7 is awesome and would have been nice if that was part of the R6.

The subject, which is me, has the same shadow and same light in both shots. It doesn't matter position of the cameras. Shadow is the exact same and the fact I can pull more detail lifting shadow on R7 shows in that comparison it has better dynamic range.
