    A combination of these two would be perfect. We bought the 2023 T@B 400. It has a much better, non folding sink in the bathroom, which is nice. I do like the extra storage in the Little Guy Max, but we love our T@B.

    I'm in camp combination, as well. I just link hopped from a 2023 Tab 400 tour, and it has remedied issues like the folding sink, with a small fixed corner sink. What has me drawn to the Tab is that with the bunk bed option, I can sleep two people (or one kid on top and two small ones on the bottom) at that end, and a small gaggle of kids in the "queen" bed in the back, while my kids are small, and it can be towed by just about everything, including the SUV my husband wants to change his car to, so he could tow the camper, and I can tow a big horse trailer with my larger tow capacity truck. In a pinch, we could rig up another cot on the floor, if we needed to. Most of our camping destinations would be without hookups, and pitching a tent is not out of the question for those nights, but nine times out of ten, I would be traveling with the kids, while hubby has to work.
    The microwave has become "optional", so you could in stead use the cubby as storage. I hardly use a microwave, and if I am baking, I'm fine doing it in a small Omnia oven or on a campfire with a Dutch oven (or look into small toaster ovens. I have a toaster oven/air fryer/rotisserie contraption at home).
    It seems like both campers do have boondocking friendly options, such as the Little Guy's 200W solar to the Tab's 100W, and tire and frame upgrades, as well as different capacity tanks, so it's shooter's preference at that point.

    In general, as much as possible, I think it's a good idea to avoid sharp corners anywhere, and instead have rounded corners to prevent injury while moving in such tight spaces.

    If I could combine the 2, I'd have my perfect camper. I LOVE the extra window in the bed area of the LGM. For me as a solo camper, the bathroom sink is fine, since I have the door open when I'm using it. The one thing I didn't like about the LGM when deciding between the two, was to low back end. I like the way the Tab 400 comes up a little to avoid dragging. I also love the ducted air of the Tab 400 and the radiant heating system.

    We just got our 400. It never occurred to me to stand in front of the sink like that. I stand in front of the toilet. So, you are to the side of the sink. But, my reason for picking the 400 was the slightly smaller size. It fits in my garage (9’3” door leaves LGM out). Nice to have that in MN!

    The LG Max bed area is too closed in for my taste. T@B is less closed in. We really like the ducted air conditioning and quiet Alde heater and water heater system in the T@B 400. The frosted bathroom door is quite strange. Hmmm. Anyway, the ground clearance in the T@B 400 Boondock is important to meet the LG Max sits too low especially when going down into dips or up steep hills. It was an interesting comparison. Nice video.

    • @RandisAdventures
      @RandisAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Deciding between the two is definitely a personal decision because while they are similar in so many ways there are differences.
      I have the Little Guy Max Rough Rider and unexpectedly ended up taking it up a mountain in the Ozarks so I too really appreciate ground clearance. I had no business doing this but I had no problems.

    I have studied both these brands for several years now and have concluded that I will be purchasing the Tab 400. The number one reason is the AldI Heating system. I live in Alaska so heat is a must. I also love the round, portal windows in the dinette area, even though the Little Guy has more light with the bigger windows.

    I think you miss some other important comparisons for people who are still trying to decide. Like heating and air-conditioning. The alde system in the tab 400 is very good as is the water control panel on the outside. I’d be curious to see how the little guy compares.

    Thanks for the awesome comparison. Really appreciate it since we looked at both of these RVs at an RV show today. It appears the tab 400 is 3 - 4 season with dual pane acrylic windows, etc. I’m wondering if the Max would be similar. I couldn’t tell if the windows were dual pane and I don’t know how the Max is insulated or not, ie. underbelly.

      Hi! The Little Guy Max has the same dual pane acrylic windows as the TAB 400. I don’t think either of these campers are rated for winter but I have to tell you I live in MN and over the past 5 years have done a lot of cold weather camping in my LGM. In fact, I just said how I’m so impressed with how warm and cozy my camper is when winter camping. For my needs and wants, The Tab 400 was the way to go.... Better rear departure angle, the aforementioned ducted heating and a/c, superior build quality, and the convertible bunk over the dinette means we can take our grandson along.... We tow with a pick-up so the lesser amount of outdoor storage is a moot point.

I am still in learning mode looking for a used trailer and open to either one of these brands. I appreciate the video and the comparisons you shared. I was surprised about the Tab weight ( thought it would be closer to the Mini Max ) the Tab is eye catching but I am happy with my MM. Trailer envy is not a problem I know I picked what works. I think to help people pick what works for them they need to know the black, grey and fresh tank volume, if it has heat, how many propane tanks, battery, electric plug ins, max weight the trailer can hold ( ie MM is 3500lbs for its frame loaded max.)

    I always loved the Tab, but never like there was no outdoor storage space. My first introduction to the Little Guy Max was when I watched one of your videos. The monger length plus the outdoor storage was a go for me. However I never luke the east west placement of any bed. It is really difficult unless you are camping alone. That alone and having to install the froli system make me still comparing. Its also why ai don’t care for casitas or olivers. Outdoor storage and bed placement is key. Based on your video comparison, personally, I'd buy the LGM. I like the power jack versus the hand-crank one. I like that it has an awning, too! I love all the windows, including the extra window in the bed area, and prefer the bigger dinette windows to the port hole windows in the TAB. I prefer the deeper square sink to a shallower round one. The bigger the bed the better in a small camper, and like you said, you can always add the Froli sleep system to the LGM. The pull-out drawer under the bed seems much more usable rather than having to lift up the mattress every time you want to access things. More outside storage is always helpful so I'd much rather have the larger pass-through storage on the LGM. And, I like the pantry and clothes closets vs not having them in the TAB. I'm not in the bathroom that much, so I don't mind that it doesn't have a sink - I can brush my teeth or wash my hands at the sink in the kitchen. I'm sure it's an individual decision, and although they are both nice and seem like good quality I'd choose the LGM, hands down! I may have missed it, but what's the price comparison?

    • @RandisAdventures
      @RandisAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I love my Little Guy Max for all the reasons you mentioned! Prices can vary by location so I was hesitant to mention pricing. I can tell you at the time of this video the price on the 2022 Little Guy Max was $39K and the price on the NuCamp Tab 400 was $46K.

      I agree with you, cruisepuppy on everything you mentioned. I think the frosted glass in the LGM actually brings in more light 😂 but I think something can be done if you need the privacy. I would however like a sink in the bathroom. Hopefully, they’ll add it on a newer version and also the Froli system for the bed. Speaking of the bed and the mattress, the LGM has a REGULAR queen mattress. I don’t know what size they used on the 400. It looks like 3 twin size mattresses. I wouldn’t even know what bedding to get for the TAB 400. 🤦‍♀️ It also seems so tight!! The LGM seems roomier and it actually has a closet as well. I don’t however like the black countertops. Everything is so bright but then they went with black countertops. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I will continue to compare and do my research but I will keep the LGM as a choice.

    I think the Little Guy Max edge's out the Tab 400 in my opinion.

      It’s surprising how many similarities and differences there are between the Little Guy Max and the Tab 400!

    Both of these campers have gone way past what they are worth. I have seen them well into the uppers $50,000. Especially now with interest rates approaching 10 and 11% the average worker will not be able to afford one. Besides, who wants to finance one of these for 15 years. Just my opinion.

      I love my Little Guy Max and have a great appreciation as well for the Tab 400. I tried to stay as neutral as possible because I do believe you can’t go wrong with either of these quality built small campers.

    They are both made in China 🇨🇳 Right? I have purchased both products for a cheap price from China! It’s amazing what we just can’t be honest with our people! Food for thoughts!
