Hi Everyone, * Edit - MSRP Correction - Prolite Lounge MSRP is $29,300.* We hope you enjoyed our video! Which small camper under 3,500 lbs GVWR did you like best? Do you prefer a travel trailer, motorhome or 5th wheel? Please say hello by leaving a comment below and sharing your opinion about these RV floor plans.
Not quite sure what the market is for these. I lik small trailers; we have an 18 footer. But these are missing some amenities that help us take long trips. These seem perfect for one, maybe two, travelers on short trips.
@@elsie9649 That's the MSRP, which you should never pay. It's a buyer's market, so you can expect to negotiate 35 to 40% off of MSRP. Thanks for watching! Mike
Me and my wife, we own pro light lounge and it’s perfect for both of us with AC solar panels it’s perfect. We’re going to camping so we spent most of the time outside. But when rain the trailer give us enough space It’s cosy and comfortable beside this. It’s easy to tow car can handle with no problems and we can park anywhere. Thank you Prolite. Good job.
LOVE the cassette toilets! Super easy to empty in more places. I can visit my mom or my daughter in another state, use this as my personal “guest bedroom” in their driveway for a few days, and empty the cassette in a nearby travel stop dump station. We don’t only camp 🏕️ with a trailer, we visit family. I am shopping for something that can go ANYWHERE. Thank you for showing all different options.
I really like the Prolite Lounge but wish it had a larger '2' door fridge. If I'm going to do this, I'd need a larger fridge with a Separate Freezer to store my storage containers of homemade sphagetti and chicken veggie soup, etc! Would be nice to add a couple of hooks on the inside of the bathroom door for towels, also a covered toilet tissue receptacle plus a caged metal area against the upper wall to place body wash, deodorant, lotion, cologne and a small hand sanitizer. I think if they'd add pull out shelves to that pantry, it would be a DONE DEAL! Guess I'd place a cup to the wall on the kitchen sink for toothpaste, floss and a toothbrush! Love the wood coloring! I may have to look at this over, I don't remember him saying anything about A/C or Heat, probably wrong about that though, Ha! Think I'd add Solar on top too! ...Price is too high because it doesn't have my bathroom essentials and a larger fridge... One thing 'I'd' do is add a carrier for a Trike! YES, I definitely like this one Best! 👍
So glad you like the Prolite. They do have other floor plans that might be a bit bigger or have other features that interest you. These travel trailers do come with AC and heat. Most TT come pre-wired for solar power and include a solar panel. I will say most RV owners will modify their campers with personal touches. We added a 4-chamber soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser in our shower. We include the MSRP as a price point but we hope people negotiate a much lower sales price. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
We have the Encore 10KB (no burners, no toilet, and a bigger fridge w/extra cabinet above where the cassette toilet is), and with the bed open on one side, it feels quite spacious. We're coming from a 4x8 squaredrop with a 46 inch bed enclosed on 3 sides by walls, so... We spend most of our time outside, and aren't bothered by a potty tent, so it works for us. We can stand in it to dress and use the potty when traveling (think Truck Stop or Cracker Barrel). The tires are rated for 81mph, so we can drive highway speeds. There's SO much storage in the cabinets (underneath as well as up top). All the windows tilt out, great for having open in the rain. We have one 100ah Lithium Battery (it can hold 3), so we can keep the Fridge running while driving and run everything except the AC/heat. We got a small gas grill and 700 watt microwave for cooking/reheating. We have a gas fire pit, too. We can set up/tear down in 10 minutes now. The no wood or steel construction really sold us. We love this camper!
Thanks for your videos!...But, why do they install a worthless mattress that even you agree has to be replaced sooner than later? These prices should include a quality mattress. 🎉Long time viewer!
So it’s cheaper on the manufacturer it’s easier and cheaper to get the cheap mattress with the cheaper materials in bulk vs buying a more expensive higher quality mattress with better materials in bulk
Good question! The only answer is money. All the manufacturers do what is called "Value Engineering". It's just a fancy term for removing cost from a product while maintaining the value. They get away with it so they continue to do it. We have almost eradicated shower curtains in campers and our next area may be Mattresses. The more we bring it up the more people will begin to demand a better mattress. In the meantime our viewers can use it to negotiate a lower price knowing they will need to replace the mattress. Thanks for being a long time viewer!!!!!!! Mike
You are welcome. The Prolite is from Canada and hopefully we'll start seeing more in the US. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Love the vids and the production/editing is off the charts excellent! Question: are hybrids still a thing at this size and price point? We have a 2013 StarCraft ar one 15rb (2600lbs dry) And although it’s just the 2 of us, that pop out is handy and multi purposed. There seems to be a stigma about pop outs but they shouldn’t be written off as inferior. Thanks and keep up the great content!
@@TheUnclerickie Thanks for the kind words and Susan had a big smile when I read your comment to her - she does all of our editing and I agree - she is awesome! And yes there are still some hybrid ( or expandable travel trailers out there) Here's an article we wrote about them...rvblogger.com/blog/best-expandable-hybrid-trailers/
Love the small little units that have showers and bathrooms in them . 1 unit of scene has a bunk bed. And then all around couch sweet little unit . Still has a bathroom shower. I have a 2012 Toyota RAV4. Love the little RAV4 lot of work into it getting it to where I want. Just need a little light Bush road excursions overnight .
We love seeing how innovative and creative RV manufacturers are in these small campers. Your Rav4 might only have a tow capacity of up to 2,000lbs so please be careful not to exceed that. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
The first one is definitely a weekender and not a full time as it doesn’t have any storage and hate the refrigerator but I Love the counter space! As always another great review, thank you Mike and Susan.
I'm loving the Prolite Lounge trailer. The price seems steep for a compact trailer. I still love the construction, size, layout and other. I'm ok with the stove burner set up it seems easier and less expensive to repair/replace. I surely wish it were more 12 volt and LED with a hefty solar array and battery system especially with the price point. Thanks Mike for all your informative videos.
We show MSRP in our videos but it is a buyers market right now so you can expect to negotiate 35 to 40% off of MSRP making all the campers we review much more affordable. Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoy our videos! Mike
We are beginning to see lower MSRPs in the RV market but not pre-Covid prices. A consumer should be able to negotiate at least 35% below MSRP. RV show prices have been great! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
In future videos. I would like to know which how the windows vent. What type of ceiling fans do they have? Refrigerator 2 way or 3 way and if any heater propane/electric or ac was available.
Hi Laura, Thanks for the suggestions! We always want to hear what our viewers want to see in our videos. What do you mean by how the windows vent? Here are some general rules to go by: There are no ceiling fans except for park models, 5th wheels and Class A RVs. ( sometimes there is a very rare exception to this) Also, very few fridges are 3 way. A/C is almost always available and although it's an option on most campers practically ever dealer across the country orders them with A/C units. There are so few exceptions to these generalizations we really don't cover the items you are asking about. But if we get more requests to cover these items we will consider it. Thanks for watching! Mike
Thanks for the video. The pro lite looks good. Good floor plan, not too big, not too small. $47,000 though. Ouch. For that much you can get a nicely equipped Escape 19
Prolite called us to let us know the MSRP is much lower than we are showing. So why do we have the wrong MSRP? Because ProLite doesn't list the MSRP on their website. So we looked up many dealerships who sell ProLite to get the MSRP and they are listing these units much higher than the manufacturer's MSRP so they can pretend they are giving you a bigger discount. Susan did revise the video to blur the MSRP for future viewers. The correct MSRP is $29,300. This issue is proof of what is going on in the RV industry to fool consumers. Thanks for watching!
@@RVBlogger thanks for reply and follow up. Yep it’s confusing how most RV’s we have looked at actually have higher MSRP ahead of then list price is at least $10,000 below. Weird that in this case it was opposite…..the mainstream RV industry is, well….”interesting”. Hope “they” (RV industry as a whole) figure it out, super unsettling the way they play with MSRP The pro lite looks awesome, thanks for providing content on the trailer.
Hi Sherri! Thanks and glad you liked these campers! We are heading to the OC MD RV Show next Monday so stay tuned for even more 2025 camper reviews! Hope you have a great week! Mike and Susan
We loved the Prolite! Quality construction and yet very low weight! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
The prices are very high. The first camper is a joke of a bathroom and fridge. I like the second camper for the large fridge. And the Third camper for the bathroom, dinette, and a/c. Thank you for the video. How much weight have you lost Mike? Looking very fit. Blessings to you..
Hi Gail, Thanks for your comments! I lost around 30 lbs and we have been hitting the gym. That's one reason I could hang from the cabinets! lol! Thanks for noticing! Mike
Skinny Guy is a great layout, but the floorplan should be opposite. Flip it and put a full window from the bed across the kitchen which should be on the camp side. This way you can look out at your campsite while sitting on the sofa. Making that change inside would also change the exterior features putting the outside kitchen on the camp side and the outdoor shower on the back - where they belong! Your suggestion about the cooktop burners is a must also.
Thanks for the lovely overview of the Lounge! Just a small correction on the price: the MSRP for our 2025 Lounge model as equipped is $29,300 USD, not $47,995!
It is amazing to me that dealers are marking up your units this much so they can pretend they are giving huge discounts. You might want to consider adding the MSRP to your website to help keep the dealerships honest at least. Thanks for calling us to clarify your pricing! Mike
These campers are really just for weekend camping adventures for folks who primarily use the campground bathrooms. But they have a place in the market! Thanks for watching! Mike
My suggestion for the manufacturers: I can’t understand why, in campers with little kitchen counter space, I haven’t seen a single camper with the dinette table raisable to counter height for temporary prep space. Trying to work standing at dining table height surface for any length of time, often enough, can really strain neck and shoulder muscles. Trying to slice and dice while sitting, causes strain also, and you’ve got a lot less force and power in your arm muscles. I’m not an engineer but it seems an obvious solution to me. Excellent video as usual, though I would like to have heard about the solar setup on these campers.
This is one of the best suggestions we have ever read!!! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! We don't cover solar because the amount of solar that comes with any new camper is negligible at best for the most part.
Check out Encore RV for their new Revue models. 13 and 16 foot boxes with kitchen, bath, bed, and dinette in each (don't worry, they plan on switching the position of the stove and sink in future production). All under 3500 pounds.
@@RVBlogger that's how I found out about the switch of the Stove and Sink, thru the Owners page. The Owner, Production manager, and Warranty coordinator of Encore RV are all members of the Owners page and answer questions.
@@reynetallents That is great! We recommend checking out the Facebook groups for different trailer brands. Sounds like Encore is very involved which is fantastic. Thanks for sharing all this great info!
i simply do not understand why anyone would want a tv in a camper. the whole point is to get out into nature. a simple weather radio is all that is needed. and the prices for these is just outrageous. They cost more than a car.
It all depends how you camp. When we used to be weekend warriors we would never watch TV and we would have a fire every night. All 2 of them! lol. But now that we live in our rig 9 months a year it is more like a home. We enjoy TV and we have a propane fire pit so we don't smell like a fire. But people all have different ways of doing things and for us it is very interesting to learn about. Also we show MSRP which you should never pay. You can negotiate 35 to 40% off the MSRP or buy used and save a ton of money. Thanks for watching and comenting! Mike
Because it does rain or snow.. and there is nothing wrong with a good movie at bed time.. and kids always want their cartoons no matter where you travel too
@@RVBlogger Exactly. I am looking to live full time mobile. I could probably get along just fine watching TV on my iPad, but if I had a partner, or someone visiting, I could see where a TV on the wall might be a good idea.
A 2024 catalina no slide 19 ft x 8ft camper with a shower & toilet go figure a jackknife sofa-bed with bunks and a short queen love it cost 14,000 tag title and tax
Thanks Susan and Mike, nice video. I suppose these are okay for the demographic of people under 5'11". Too small for me. The last one @ around 50k and no apparent TV hookup? Also, no convection microwave in any of them. Not much bang for your buck. Thanks for the video, stay safe and good travels.

Why do these small compact trailers cost as much or more than a fullsize trailer? Asking $32k msrp, and then selling it for $18k is still crazy. You can buy a 2 year old 22 ft trailer for $15k all day long. It seems to me this mentality of pricing is similar to a convience store charging 3 dollars for a 16oz bottle of water, but a 1 gallon jug is 2 dollars. It just doesnt make sense.
You're not wrong! I feel that way about Class B "camper vans". I can't see spending more on a van than I would on a Class A! Would love to hear their reasoning. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

In the Prolite lounge you mentioned it had an inline kitchen, well my wife and I got into an argument over weather it did or didn’t, well I don’t have to tell you it got real ugly real fast

That's all good info...we have been asked by lots of people about tank size. Almost all of the windows open on most RVs and they come with screens. Why does it matter which way they open? (Just curious) Thanks for watching and for your suggestions! Mike
@@RVBloggerIt matters about the way the windows open because if they open from the bottom, they're easier to leave open in the rain (less likely to come inside). I prefer them that way.
@@reynetallents That's what I thought but I always like to clarify if I am not sure. - Our windows open at the bottom, so they are great when it rains. Thanks for commenting! Mike

The Skinny Guy trailer just doesn’t do anything for me. It’s a munchkin trailer made for small stature people sizes and just feels more low rent inside. The Encore Venu is just flat out too small and cramped for me, although it’s really got a cool layout. But the box just needs to be 6” to a foot wider and one to 2 feet longer to be big enough to be comfortable. I found the use of metal cabinets and the metal toilet enclosure to be really interesting and clever. A bit of thinking outside the box. The last is the one that gets my attention. It’s got the best layout and size plus it’s also very light overall. This one would look great behind my midsize Ram Promaster City Van. And I could get some matching or complimentary vinyl wrap to really make it stand out. And it’s light enough to fit within my tow capacity. It’s the right one me overall.
That Prolite Lounge looks great until you realize it only has a 13 gallon fresh water tank - forget about boondocking unless you figure out how to carry another 20 gallons...
Smaller campers definitely have smaller tanks sizes, which does make boondocking a little more challenging. But I wonder how many people are really boondocking. I think most people are pedestal camping at campgrounds. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
If looking to buy a tagalong, which do you recommend first looking at vehicles that could tow or looking at the campers. I currently have a car Honda Civic 2022 thinking about trading it in for a truck that could pull a small title along I’m 65 and seriously thinking about doing this in the near future and could really use some advice. Thanks in advance.
I would start with the travel trailer first. Find something small and lightweight that you would feel comfortable in. Once you know the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of the camper then you know the size of truck you might need. The GVWR is the weight of the trailer along with all your gear (food, clothing, and RV supplies). We have a rule of towing only 80% of what your truck is recommended to tow, as a safety feature. So if you have a truck that can tow 5,000 lbs, the GVWR of your travel trailer should not exceed 4,000 lbs. Feel free to reach out with any questions. susan@rvblogger.com Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
1st one... do couples just do their business right while others are watching TV? So odd to have that setup for a non-solo camper... last one was nice though the craftmanship at 24:40 leaves a bit to be desired.. roundover router bit would take 30 seconds and help those raw edges looks so much more professional... details details people...
ALL trailers that use a cassette toilet in a wet bath: The toilet should be on a slide OUT. The toilet slides like a drawer, to the exterior while showering. I would think the the manufacturer can design an inside latch method. I suppose that the same design can work with a fixed toilet, the plumbing system would be a unique design.
The MSRP is listed at the beginning of each camper review or for the Prolite campers the MSRP is in the description. Remember we only show MSRP which you should never ever pay. Thanks for watching! Mike
I like the second and third ones, Skinny Guy 15Z, shower, commode, simple and they work! But… the 15Z needs a window at the kitchen and both sides of the bed.

The shower bases are made high so the trap can fit underneath. There is a solution to this problem but the RV manufacturers either aren't aware of it or don't want to spend the money...hmmm.
First one is really cute for its compactness, never seen one of those. Second one needs another window on bed side n a countersunk stove. Third one, love the windows, is a sticker shocker, n hate the bench pull into bed thing at that price range. But I like the fact they all had cupboards not cubby hole cargo nets. 🍻

@@RVBloggeram I wrong to say that I was bracing for that cabinet to break away? 😂 glad it didn’t but what a blooper reel that would be!

I really like the 2nd one.
What did you like about it? Would love to hear your thoughts!

It's a great idea like you say to turn the kitchen burners sideways to make more counter space
Thanks and glad you like our idea!

We appreciate your support!
that door opens up and it makes an indent into the table. nice!

The first one is definitely a weekender and not a full time as it doesn’t have any storage and hate the refrigerator but I Love the counter space! As always another great review, thank you Mike and Susan.

I liked the second prolite camper the best that had the dry bath!!
Agree! We loved the Prolite and the fact it had a dry bath. Hope they do well in the US market.
I like the ProLife the best. A bit larger, and the bath a bit bigger. Great layout too.
Glad you like it!

Mike
Good video gave a lot of good info . They are all nice just feel that price on these small campers are high.
We are beginning to see lower MSRPs in the RV market but not pre-Covid prices. A consumer should be able to negotiate at least 35% below MSRP. RV show prices have been great! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
A bathroom os ABSOLUTELY essential
We think so too but this is not true for everyone. Just for us and you.
In future videos. I would like to know which how the windows vent. What type of ceiling fans do they have? Refrigerator 2 way or 3 way and if any heater propane/electric or ac was available.
Hi Laura,
Thanks for the suggestions! We always want to hear what our viewers want to see in our videos.
What do you mean by how the windows vent?
Here are some general rules to go by:
There are no ceiling fans except for park models, 5th wheels and Class A RVs. ( sometimes there is a very rare exception to this)
Also, very few fridges are 3 way.
A/C is almost always available and although it's an option on most campers practically ever dealer across the country orders them with A/C units.
There are so few exceptions to these generalizations we really don't cover the items you are asking about.
But if we get more requests to cover these items we will consider it.
Thanks for watching!

Prolite is my fav. Closed toilet a must😊. Loved the first one but the prison toilet is a no for me😂❤

The prices are very high. The first camper is a joke of a bathroom and fridge. I like the second camper for the large fridge. And the Third camper for the bathroom, dinette, and a/c. Thank you for the video. How much weight have you lost Mike? Looking very fit. Blessings to you..
Hi Gail,
Thanks for your comments!
I lost around 30 lbs and we have been hitting the gym. That's one reason I could hang from the cabinets! lol!
Thanks for noticing!

Great suggestions!
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Mike
Thanks for the lovely overview of the Lounge! Just a small correction on the price: the MSRP for our 2025 Lounge model as equipped is $29,300 USD, not $47,995!
It is amazing to me that dealers are marking up your units this much so they can pretend they are giving huge discounts. You might want to consider adding the MSRP to your website to help keep the dealerships honest at least.

Thanks for watching!
Mike
I like them all. I believe the Prolite Campers are made in Canada. 😊
Yes you are correct! Thanks for watching!
We don't cover solar because the amount of solar that comes with any new camper is negligible at best for the most part.

i simply do not understand why anyone would want a tv in a camper. the whole point is to get out into nature. a simple weather radio is all that is needed. and the prices for these is just outrageous. They cost more than a car.
You’d be surprised by the amount of people who watch tv camping. I agree with you about being outside while camping.
People expect lot of things but are not willing to pay for it: don't be surprised to get junk...

Encore Venu looks great except it’s too short, I wouldn’t be able to stand up in there.
Unfortunately true! It lacks a little in height. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I love the idea of wrapping your trailer! That is a good look!

Mike

ALL trailers that use a cassette toilet in a wet bath:
The toilet should be on a slide OUT. The toilet slides like a drawer, to the exterior while showering. I would think the the manufacturer can design an inside latch method.
I suppose that the same design can work with a fixed toilet, the plumbing system would be a unique design.
Hmmm....I'm having trouble understanding what you mean or why it would be a better design? Can you explain a bit more?

Why are the showers short in height???
Redesign the shower pan.
Or the shower ceiling should be a bubble top, pop top.
The shower bases are made high so the trap can fit underneath. There is a solution to this problem but the RV manufacturers either aren't aware of it or don't want to spend the money...hmmm.
