I have a Dash mini juicer. I used to teach juicing classes and, as John did, I have purchased many juicers to evaluate them. I have never had the Dash overheat. I love traveling with the Dash and I love the very quick and easy cleanup. I can make everything that I could make with my Green Power Juicer, wheat grass juice, nut milk, and frozen treats. The Dash company really stands behind its products. Great customer service! You can't beat the price or convenience of use. It does make a little less juice than the Shine, but the difference does not outweigh my choice. I prefer the Dash when I am in a hurry, or making one or two large glasses of juice, or especially for traveling. You just can't beat this little juicer for ease of use when traveling. My husband really hated that I wanted to bring my large juicers with me. I usually cut the veggies in chunks for the Dash. It seems like a logical thing to do to make sure it has a long life. I do use my Angel double auger juicer when I am making several quarts of juices to hold for a few days when juice fasting, and I use my Champion Juicer to make large amounts of frozen soft serve treats. As a final comment, I have given several Dash juicers as gifts. They are so affordable and their ease of use and cleaning does not deter people from making juices regularly. I lied! I have more comments. If you can't get it open to clean because you have let the pulp or nuts dry a little before cleaning, just add water and use the reverse and run alternately. Then try again to open the juicer. I know about the great customer service because I did not follow the instructions and used a small spatula to get some product off the side of the shute, while the juicer was running. They clearly advise stopping the juicer first. The auger is very aggressive and grabbed the spatula, pulling it off of the wooden handle and down through the juicer. The company sent me new attachments at no charge, even though I violated the warranty. That was above and beyond my expectations. By the way, it took me two weeks to finally get the spatula out, so now I have extra parts. Thank you John! I have followed your youtube videos for years. You always make them enjoyable and informative. May God bless you abundantly. Evelin

I bought the Dash just because it was the only one in my area available. Walmart was out of juicers so I went to Belk and bought this for $79. I wanted one immediately didn't want to wait for shipping. It works great and if you feed carrots small end first it will auto feed the whole carrot with seldom having to help it. I had never used a cold press and wanted to try it and so far it's been great in helping me shed 15 pounds replacing meals with juice.
Finally someone does a proper review on the Dash Compact Slow Juicer. Thank you John. Bed, Bath, and Beyond has it for 79.99 minus 20% with their coupon. Great price for slow juice beginners and better quality juice than the juice from centrifugal high speed juicers.
I loved the comparison video. Thanks for doing it. For $64 at BedBath&Beyond I'll take the small juice loss from the Dash juicer. I am loving it. The size is great for me. Oh, and for the carrots, I cut the fat ends off then in half lengthwise.
I agree. Dash is very portable and much easier to assemble and clean. I have an Omega VSJ834 and a Dash. Aside from the noise, I found that I use the Dash more often... I think i’ll bring the Dash with me to travel, because raw juice bar is always too expensive in my opinion.
As of now, Shine is priced anywhere from $113-149, where Dash is about $79. I believe that alone is a pretty significant difference that is reflected in better yield.
For the Dash size, I think that it did pretty good. Shine is twice as big. Dash is smaller and looks like a little workhorse. For those who need a short juice it will work out fine I think. If you would cut up the carrots smaller, I bet it would give you a fine yield also. That would be a nice try for you to see if cut smaller works better.
I wanted to see if I would use a juicer so I wanted one that was more compact. Your video convinced me to get the Dash. I've used it twice so far and it seems to work well. Thanks!
I just bought the Dash juicer. Tried it today for the first time making orange juice. It worked fine but I noticed in cleaning it that some of the pulp got trapped in the pulp chute. To get it completely cleaned out you would have to remove the rubber O ring which is held in place with 1 Phillips screw. I didn't like that design which is a flaw IMO. I'm going to order the Shine juicer as it really looks like a better made machine. Of course the trade off is in size and price with the Shine juicer being larger and almost twice the price. But in the end I feel the Shine juicer will be a better longer lasting juicer and easier to clean. Just my opinion. I will say that the Dash juicer is really cute and probably would be fine for a travel juicer or for an occasional use juicer. One other thing to note is that the Dash juicer comes with an attachment for making Sorbet. I did not try it but that might be a plus for the Dash. Just my opinion yours may be different. Happy juicing.
I bought the shine this week. I love it very much. It works super good. High yield of juice from celery and also carrots. I made radash juice and it was perfect. Juice taste better them my big mouth hamilton juicer. That juicer was so loud. Shine is not loud at all. I also feel more energy from the juice. I feel better. It must extract more from the produce then those spinong juicers. I might upgrade in a year but the shine is great.
I got the Dash juicer and I think it’s pretty good. My only concern I noticed when I first used it was that the celery clogged the pulp part of it and I had to pull out the celery hairs with my fingers..
Thanks for this in-depth review! I need a small travel juicer for the RV and future trips. This video answered my questions, and then taught me knowledge I didn’t know I needed to compare machines/final product. Definitely subscribed!
I just got a Dash! Love juicing but hate the cleaning with the old large bulky juicer. So Looking forward to juicing now with half the cleaning with the Dash and half the price! 🤗👍 My review after using Dash...I had to return it as it took forever in making a cup of juice! The celery was difficult to put through as it keeps clogging the hole. Constant turning off and unclogging the spout. After attempting to use it 3xs I had to return it and go back and use my larger juicer. Give it 3/5 🌟
I’m just now seeing this. I personally think you just like the other one better. It was going to win no matter what. Just the way that you started this video off and you talked about the two of them there was no chance the Dash would win. Everything you showed the Dash was the winner.
John, you've been so objective in prior reviews, but this one is showing a lot of bias in the majority of your comments. I'm only guessing that you're not selling the DASH model, but sell the other. My little travel DASH arrived today, and it self fed / chewed through a bag of baby carrots almost as well as my home Omega 8006.
@@aracelypadilla4658 Thank you for agreeing. Like I said, my bag of baby carrots feed themselves into the auger and zero need for the pusher. Would I want this for my only juicer? No, but it's so compact that even the cups fit over the feed tube for travel.
Every Juicer has its own set of pros and cons. I strive to give the juicer a real-world test and share my opinions on the machine. I do like the dash for its size, but there are some downsides that people should be aware of.
@@aracelypadilla4658 I strive to NOT do extra work whenever possible. Generally in a auger style juicer, there should be no need to precut carrots. I enocurage you to purchase both juicers and re-run my test when precutting the carrots to show the differences, if you feel it important.
@@discountjuicers John, I'm not trying to defend this little juicer. All juicers have downsides: prep, cleanup, clogging. Maybe I'd put you on a pedestal, because you've taught me so much about minimalist use of the pusher, or the additional prep for vertical juicers. My comment was about bias in the presentation.
I think you would have had better performance and a faster time for the dash if you would have inserted the smaller ends of the carrots 1st. (but, then I imagine you knew that all ready)

Hi, John. I wonder if the Tribest Shilne might serve as a separator of juice and pulp coming from the Tribest Dynapro blender. I've had some trouble trying to squeeze the juice from the pulp from the Dynapro. The nutbag you recommended is not available and the one I have is not efficient and quite difficult to work with. Such a bias review. This dude clearly loves the shine. I brought the dash for travel and not to use daily but at the dash is a good juicer. But the bias was seen from the beginning of the video.
Not enough difference to make up for the size and I bet carrying weight. Please weight each juicer clean with the pusher I bet the dash is easier to carry.
