    First, John will share his opinions on if the Omega VSJ843 is being discontinued and why it is out of stock.
    Next, John will share 3 alternative juicers including the Slowstar SW-2020 juicer by Tribest, the Nama Vitality 5800 by Namawell, and the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer Elite C7000 by Kuvings.
    You will discover the cost difference between the Omega VSJ843 and these 3 alternative vertical cold press juicers.

    Next, you will see a juice-off comparison juicing 654 grams of organic carrots in each juicer so you can see the process and learn how much carrot juice each juicer made.
    You will discover which one of these juicers made the most juice, as well as which juicer put the most pulp in the juice.
    You will learn the differences in cleaning these machines and how much carrot pulp is left in each juicer after you are done juicing as well as how much ground-in pulp is in the juicing screen after you are finished juicing.
    Finally, John will declare the winners of this juice-off comparison and which are the best alternatives instead of the Omega VSJ843 that are available now.
    After watching this episode, you will learn the best 3 alternatives to the Omega VSJ843 due to the wide-spread stock outage that is currently going on.

    Bought the Omega 8006 7-8 years ago from you. That baby still works like a champ. Decided it was time for a new juicer. I almost bought the Nama and remembered Omega made a vertical and I know you review them all. After all those years of chopping all those fruits and veg for my 8006 that Kuvings looks like my next juicer!! Thanks for the great video.

    I've had a VSJ843 for a few years I bought from John. I've had a few questions during that time and he always answered very quickly and knowledgeably. I strongly recommend buying from him. My model has the gentle clutch, so it stalls if you feed a few too many carrots or hard vegetables in at the same time. Future video's show a newer revision model that doesn't stall unless you really pack in too much. They were too cautious in the early models (I think, which I have) to avoid cracking the screen. It works excellent though, I juiced a case of semi soft apples ( only $4 - be sure and ask ) from a grocery store that was going to dispose of them without a single clog. I think it's the best all-around juicer. I also have an Omega 8004 which mostly stays in storage (but I'll never sell). it is better for leafy greens or making pasta with the attachments, but I rarely do that now. The 843 is always on my counter.

    Another great video. Best part towards the end, cleaning, the Kuvings had the widest mouth, which I thought was a plus. Wait until you see the cleaning of the feed chute! And the pulp not run through the machine. Another score for the VSJ. I know these are long, but take the time to watch his entire videos, will save you time and headaches later.

    I saved up and ordered my Slowstar last month from John and couldn't be happier. I make my beet and apple juices almost every day and the quality is SO much better than my old centrifugal juicer! My 2nd favorite juice is simply romaine hearts and carrots. Lastly, that mincing attachment is outstanding for making your own frozen fruit sorbets! Not enough people are talking about this! Banana and strawberries or Banana and pineapple with a little coconut/coconut cream is the the best dessert you will ever try. Thank you John for your hard work to bring us the best in Juicing info!

      @Ms overcomer Like John says there is no perfect juicer. It depends on what you want yours to do. I juice alot of root vegetables. The Slowstar does those without issue. I wanted the warranty. it is a full 10 years on anything wrong. Those cheap Chinese don't offer that. I wanted the mincing attachment for sorbets, salsa, and sauerkraut. It is tougher to clean though.... And last but not least.. I wanted to support John from DiscountJuicers.com. I could have gotten it for a couple bucks cheaper elsewhere.... but I would rather support him and what he stands for and provides to the juicing community. Hope that helps!

      @Ms overcomer The slowstar is great. I've been using it for over a year now. The only problem I've ever had was the auger chipped when trying to make banana sorbet, now I cut the frozen banana into pieces first. Otherwise I do 45min juicing sessions with carrots,apples, lemons, greens, beets etc and it grinds them all like a champ. I rarely get sick anymore either.

    After two Hurom juicers over the past 10 years, I'm a Kuvings convert. The wide chute makes juice easier and faster. It's easy enough to clean too.

    • @wrightchance5891
      @wrightchance5891 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yamamancha How is the volume versus the pulp? Slowstar got more by volume but more pulp also. It seems like a trade off indeed! I’m impressed the Kuvings makes everything but nut butters

    • @yamamancha
      @yamamancha 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@wrightchance5891 The pulp and foam in the juice from the Kuvings is significantly less than the Hurom juicers I used in the past.
      I use a handheld strainer (sieve) to capture any foam or bits that I drop into the juice but there's very little actual pulp.
      Considering how pulp-free the juice is, there's probably less than a 2-3% yield difference with all the juicers shown.
      I use a food processor to make nut butters and a blender to make ice cream, etc. so those aren't functions I look for in a juicer.
      I juice at least 12 liters a week that is at least 50% green leafy vegetables. I like the Kuvings because the wide chute is geared towards bulk juicing. I still cut my greens and other produce but I can put a bunch in the chute and let gravity do the work instead of putting in what feels like a few pieces at a time. I only have to cut apples and oranges in half instead of into 6 or 8 pieces.
      Overall, it's just less mental fatigue and less time-consuming. With my basic recipe (spinach or kale, bell peppers, carrots, ginger, and apple or orange), I'm able to make 6 liters in just over 1 hr, including disassembling half-way to clean out the auger and rest the motor for 10 mins. Takes an extra 30 mins if I'm juicing pineapple or broccoli.
      More than anything, I've been much more consistent in juicing since getting the Kuvings. Whatever trade-offs there are with other juicers, being able to engage in and enjoy bulk juicing consistently is more than worth it.

    I am a happy owner of a Kuvings C7000 I got from Discount Juicers. When using the supplied strainer juice is so smooth I would swear is came from a hydraulic press juicer. I know what I'm talking about because I owned a Norwalk for several years. The fine hole screen in the basket may also have something to do with it. If the screen holes get too plugged to clean with a brush just blast it away with a dental water flosser. The Kuvings juice maybe seemed pulpier because it was the last juice made so there was less time for the pulp to settle.

I am currently without a juicer as the previous one died on me, a few days after it's 2 year warranty ended. So these 2 year warranties like for the Nama juicer are turning me off somewhat. I have a slowstar and have been using it for over 3 years and I really like it. The reason I chose it was because it’s a powerhouse. It doesn’t get stuck while juicing big items like carrots. That not only speeds up the juicing process, but it just makes it an easy experience overall. It does produce a lot of pulp but it’s actually not that bad as compared to the overall volume of the juice, it’s still not that much.

    I have the Evo820 by Kuvings and I am very satisfied ; beautiful juices, easy to clean, not too much pulp, poweful motor, almost never stuck - and when it happens, the reverse function makes it very easy to keep juicing. It can make smoothies, sorbet, nut milks (with a nut milk bag) and has a separate citrus juicer you can buy if you only want to make citrus juices sometimes (easier to clean), and THE WIDE FEED CHUTE, huge gain of time not having to precut almost at all, just throw whole things in there, it will be juiced. It just does not do nut butter. Sometimes I also use it to process carotts, so I can put the pulp in salads - and I drink the carott juice. I am a student and have a very small kitchen, and I am glad to have a machine that does so many things and is just so easy to use daily. Just check at it, to me it is the best juicer existing nowadays. Even these very high end juicers in metal are not a match - because Evo 820 is so easy to clean. I am not paid by Kuving, not sponsored, nor affiliated, I just love my juicer.

    Any advice on cleaning the screen, as I can see the holes being smaller when they were brand new? All I juice is Celery most days and wash it as soon as I finish with it. I have also noticed the pulp isn't as dry as it is and if I'm juicing more than one bunch of celery then there's a build up of pulp inside the machine and it becomes a lot more in sufficient at producing juice and also more bits come out into the liquid end.
    I've tried soaking in vinegar too remove the white stains but that has minimal effect.

    The VSJ it much more efficient than the slowstar. But it is way under powered IMO. With the slowstar I could throw whole carrots in there without worrying about it stopping. With the VSJ, it stops A LOT if you try whole carrots. Other than the better yield with the VSJ, I noticed right away that juicing just apples and using a strainer, I got not only apple juice, but apple sauce. Did’t get that much with slowstar. Didn’t care for Tribest customer service either. Kept dealing with a different person and have to explain the issue multiple times. I knew what was wrong and what part I needed, which should have been obvious with the pics I sent, but each rep I dealt with did not seem to have access to the pics I sent and they wanted me to send the whole juicer in when all it was is the gasket.

      For vertical juicers, of the 3 that are available, I personally would choose the nama, it is better at extracting juice and grinding than the other two, BUT I do recommend PRECUTTING celery, leafy greens and ginger into 1/8"-1/4" slices for best results, or you may experience issues.

    Totally true the Slow Star passes WAY TOO MUCH PULP and I'm sick of it. I have to use a HUGE colander screen every time and it's FULL of pulp and there's also a TON of pulp in the interior screen like you're showing! Which is another GIANT SCREEN to clean with that colander! And I can't even juice the two tomatoes in your Immunity Juice recipe it's a total waste of time. Now am I willing to spend another $400 on the VSJ to avoid that extra sieving and at least 10-15 minutes of CLEANING??? Probably! BUT NOW what about the NEW VACUUM JUICER???? Around $700 I think?

    • @MrJ.31
      @MrJ.31 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm so sorry to hear that news. I can personally vouch for Kuvings over Omega. I've had the chance to compare a Kuvings Elite vs an Omega VSJ and while juicing the same ingredients the same way the Kuvings at least matched and in some cases beat the VSJ in terms of yield even after being sieved. I've had much better service from Kuvings over Omega as well. For your particular needs I might look at something like a Tribest Greenstar Elite/Pro or a press style Pure Juicer as well. The Greenstar style juicer (or Angel Juicers) are known to extract even more nutrients from the produce and the Pure Juicer leaves almost zero pulp in the juice which makes it even easier to digest. Hope this helps

    • @MrJ.31
      @MrJ.31 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Titus King Hey TK I hope things are getting better. I would personally recommend the C7000, or if you want something a little nicer looking the EVO820 from Kuvings. I'm just not a huge fan of Omega's customer service and their juicers just haven't impressed me. If you like the VSJ type design I would check out the Hurom H-AA and the Hurom HZ which to me are both really good juicers. They have both performed better than the VSJ in tests I've done and in some cases at least matched the Kuvings, and feature a pulp control lever which lessen the pressure buildup in the juicer which not only helps to control the amount of pulp you get in the juice but also helps to protect the juicer bowl from cracks by lessening the pressure inside it. The only downside to Hurom is the warranty as it covers the juicer base for 10 years but the parts only for 2 years, but at the same time their machines are still built really well and their customer service has always been really good. Honestly I can't think of any complaints I would have against any of these juicers. I'm personally still a little partial to the Kuvings, but if you like the VSJ style better then the Hurom will also treat you well. If you're interested John did a video comparison which explains some differences of the C7000 and the H-AA. Hope it helps th-cam.com/video/BtJ0qfTypA4/w-d-xo.html

    I own a Nama and using it to do my 60 day fast. The statement that you don't have to pre-cut is total BS. The small mouth makes you have to pre-cut. It makes juicing greens very difficult. And fibrous veggies you will want to cut down because it will cause long strands to clog easier. I started cutting my celery and such into smaller 4 inch pieces.

    • @nicolechai
      @nicolechai 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Brian, you can also use the trick of peeling the celery from the top (snap top piece off and pull downwards) to remove some fiber from the celery! This trick saves me so much time from having to cut up my celery. I also noticed younger celery does so much better with the Nama so make sure you pick the lighter color celery! (:

    Looks like some false advertising going on, John.
    I googled the Omega juicer and it is $399.00.
    You have it listed as $500.00 retail but, if purchased through you it is $399.00.
    Not nice John.

    You seem to favor the omega over all but the technology of the Nama is much better. Just the safety alone fir children you never even mention to favor the larger opening of the others. The variable pulp features also never mentioned and although it takes a few seconds more to open and flush, it’s still minimal time to clean. I’ve had the Nama for some time and I think it’s awesome.

      John which one should I buy. I appreciate your thorough explanation but this video is entirely too long and the ads makes it extremely difficult to watch.

    John, your video is way too long. 90 minutes???? You need to get to the point and cut out a lot of the minutae. You could do that in 30 minutes or less
