      hello John, I've been wanting to buy a juicer for a while now. My question to you is which juicer would you recommend (on your website of course) with a price point between 250 and 350 dollars? I would really appreciate a reply as I do want to purchase a juicer. Also if there is any promos that's always great. keep up the good work. oh yeah I do want a kind of all around juicer I do like to do some leafy greens also. mainly fruits though.

    Caught this Omega CP 365 a few weeks ago at one of those "One Day Sale" websites for about $57. So yeah, I snagged it. After years of Nutri-Bullet, Nutri-Ninja, and other Blenders, I wanted a machine that extracts pulp (which was becoming more of a pain straining) and was QUIET!!!
    After I purchased the Omega, I happened upon your TH-cam channel while researching all I can do with the CP 365. And I ended up watching HOURS of your videos.
    John, thanks for all the work you've been pouring in regarding Juicers in general.
    Consider me a FAN!
    So far, I absolutely LOVE the CP365.
    I wanted an Omega machine for YEARS!
    But never could justify the expense on my budget.
    It's a great Entry Level Machine into the world of Cold-Press Juices.
    And did I mention it is...QUIET???

    I usually Re~Juice my pulp once. Slow and steady wins the race.
    This machine will feed most all veggies and fruits by itself if the size is small enough.
    Use the bottom of the brush stick to push~out the pulp from the pulp end cap.

    I bought the 365, it broke the fourth time I used it, on a carrot, The replacement broke too on a beet. It's the first generation of an entry model. The threads gave out against the pressure build up between the clear plastic Chute/Drum (chamber) and End Cap. I then bought a centrifugal model and it sounded like a bomb going off when I dropped something hard into it. My honey wouldn't use it because of the violent nature of the thing. I finally invested in the Omega NC1000HDS...so far so good.

    I purchased a horizontal Omega juicer in 2013 and it still works great. I still have all of the original parts. It is very easy to take apart and put together; parts are all easy to clean and wash. My machine came with a 10-year warranty, so I'm getting to the end of the warranty, but I do use my juicer weekly and I feel that I have gotten my money's worth from this. I read user reviews on the Omega website regarding this model. The biggest complaint that I read was that the cap breaks off after a few uses and it's hard for the customers to get a replacement part. I know that one day I will have to purchase another juicer. I would stick to Omega and most likely, the horizontal model.

    I've been waiting for this review! I bought this juicer with the Yonana deal. This juicer is awesome. The only thing I notice is that the end cap collects water if placed in a sink full of water. The plastic part gets hard stained/cloudy. Other than that this juicer is AMAZING! I use it everyday!

      Hey Jon, I had that issue with the End Cap / Pulp Cap getting full of water; I just tip it on its side and let the water run out, or I take off the plastic round filter and then drain out the water. It’s quite annoying isn’t it.

    I deleted my previous comment to give my review of the Omega 365 I purchased after seeing your video which took it from A to Z in describing and using the juicer. Briefly, I have used a few juicers. One cold press juicer I purchased from a big retail store (not great) several months ago. It was not great, so I decided to try the "smallest cold press juicer" and it was a nightmare from the first time I used it. I had to call the company to explain features NOT in the instructions. What brought me to your review was after I had to use pliers to remove the auger. (instructions - "the auger may stick so you may have to twist off." Uh... no. Not even close. I just put the Omega 365 together so easily just watching your video. Am I dreaming? It was so easy to assemble, so easy to use, not very wet pulp, lots of celery juice, and the cleanup? I am in heaven. I wanted to thank you for your clear, unbiased, helpful video. I won't dread making juice anymore!

      Although I use the VSJ843 and the NC800, one of my most favorite juices is fresh beets [with the stems and leaves] and granny smith apples.
      I buy the organic beets [whole] at Kroger, both red and golden beets......unless the farmer's market has them.
      The red apples are sweeter than the grannies, and I will use the red IF I can find good firm ones, usually Fuji, Honey Crisp, etc.
      but the best apples come from a local orchard, when they have them, because they will cut them for you to see how crisp they are. Picked
      fresh daily when in season. We (sometimes) save our pulp and dehydrate if mostly veggies, sometimes freeze it, and use in soups/baking. Mostly
      we put it in the compost because we have so much of it.
      Keep your juices flowing......and God bless you.

  • @MGmirkin
    @MGmirkin ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, so I'm confused, is there more than one "version" of the Cold Press 365?
    'Cause I'm seeing one on eBay for like $89 but it looks very different from this one.
    Is there like a "horizontal" version [this one] and a "Vertical" version [the one on eBay]? Or what?

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin ปีที่แล้ว

      Went over to the Omega web site and it looks like maybe it's the JC3000 [vertical] "Cold Press 365" as opposed to whatever this more "horizontal" version is [H3000, I guess]? Confusing that they both just list "Cold Press 365" on the front of the box, but seem to be very different style/layout of juicer?
      Have you tested the JC3000 and compared it head-to-head with other Omega juicers like the H3000, VRT350, VSJ843, and the Omega Effortless Batch juicer?
      Would be interesting to see them all head-to-head in terms of speed, efficiency, amount and quality of juice produced, ease of cleaning, etc.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  ปีที่แล้ว

      The original cold press 365 was a horizonal juicer. They later started to use cold press to identify other juicers. I have not tested the jc3000 model. It is a chinese made (lower cost) vertical juicer. The VRT350/VSJ843/Effortless are all made in S. Korea and are of much better quality.

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin ปีที่แล้ว

      @@discountjuicers Hmm, interesting... And weird they'd make one in one place and cheaper versus others made somewhere else of higher quality...
      Anyway, I pulled the trigger and bought the $89 JC3000 on eBay as a stopgap until I can afford the uber-expensive Nama J2. Don't think I can quite fit it into the budget yet. Maybe for Christmas. Or maybe someone will get me one as a housewarming gift, birthday present, or something [unlikely, but y'never know]...
      Will see how the JC3000 goes. Hopefully it does alright. Though one worries, in general, about clogging with a smaller outlet on the waste/pulp port versus the J2, etc. But, here's hoping it's at least "something" and works okay in the interim without exploding, catching fire, or y'know breaking... ;)
      -----
      Would be interesting to see a review/comparison on it and testing it out to see how it performs [versus like other similar Omega units, or similarly styled Kuvings/Nama units], build quality, durability, easy of assembly, juicing, cleaning, yield, etc.
      If only 'cause, honestly, it seems like nobody else on TH-cam has reviewed it either. [I've looked. Pretty much all 365 reviews are of the original 'horizontal' model, or else just reposted marketing videos of the vertical one without any actual review/demonstration.] (And, I appreciate your review videos.)

    Isn't a "cold press" juicer the same as a masticating juicer? I bought an Omega masticating juicer years ago which looks very similar to the one in the picture.

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are the same. Both terms apply to the same style of juicer.
      Centrifugal is the old spinny type with like a grater on the bottom that sounds like a rocket engine.
      Masticating / slow / cold-press juicers [either horizontal or vertical] are the same kind, and basically use an augur [kind of like a drill bit] to slowly press/crush/squeeze the juice out of the fruit/vegetable.
      Then there's apparently twin-gear cold press juicers which are I guess way more expensive [mostly] and have basically like two interlocking augurs / gears which crush/press the fruit/vegetable between them and try to press as much out as possible [highest yield of juice] leaving very dry pulp/waste....

    • @jonaozo540
      @jonaozo540 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John pretty much has compared all of the juicers, and not just the Omega's. The answer lies within what you mostly wish to juice, or make nut butters, sorbet, etc.
      John has well over 500 videos on juicer comparisons, and they are generally 1 hour each (and longer), pretty hard to start right now watching them all in hopes
      of deciding on which one to buy in the next few weeks, eh?. I (and spouse) have watched 99% of his videos over the years, including on his green channel and his raw
      channel, and can give you an easy answer.....go to his DiscountJuicers.com video channel and focus on just two juicers.....the Omega NC800HDS and Omega VSJ843
      and see if that is the kind of juicing you will do. These two are the constant winners for best overall juicing.......repeatedly....all-around, price-point, versatility, quality, warranty,
      ease-of-use, ease-of-cleaning, juice yield, juice quality, etc. etc. The horizontal gives you the extra ease for nut butters, frozen sorbets, and my favorite.......awesome sauerkraut
      like the Ann Wigmore Institute. We use the vertical for carrots, beets (with stems/leaves), apples, celery, sliced ginger, grapes, kale, spinach, cucumber, peppers, and the like, but we also use the horizontal for the same (but with the versatility with using the blank cone for kraut, etc. We have both the VSJ843 and the NC800HDS [it replaced a 20yr old Samson horizontal
      that I bought from John in 1999] and one or both of these lives on our counter for daily use. I have been juicing for over 35yrs and have burned up some juicers, and have learned the value of buying the correct juicer for my needs....and not just the most expensive--which can be very misleading. If you only want to grow and juice wheatgrass you need a 'wheatgrass' specific juicer, but the NC800 does a pretty good job with it, especially if you add some other veggie or fruit with it. Even though the VSJ843 and the NC800 do a very similar job.....and VERY well, they are a bit different, which is why we love having both. Watch a lot of vids on the two machines then decide which one to get first, eh? You will not be disappointed. One
      more thing, not quite so related.....but for the summertime.....for super nutritious and refreshing watermelon juice [including the rind-yes all together] , get the Omega 4000 centrifugal
      juicer while you still can [pulp ejection model]. Absolutely the BEST watermelon juicer in the universe. [I think it is built by NASA , eh?....rocket or nuclear propelled.....bwahaha]
      Watch the vids on the VSJ843 and the NC800 Omega's......if you find time let me know what you think. God bless you and Merry Christmas

    • @jonaozo540
      @jonaozo540 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elyros7601 Soft veggies/fruits need to be juiced alternating with hard veggies/fruits, or the screen will easily get clogged. Mint and cilantro will work in either model [I juice spinach leaves in both, but I always use a couple of carrots along with the leaves, yet kale works very well alone]. The NC800 is probably the better choice for the leafy greens, but a more expensive twin auger / twin gear model, like a GS-2000 [ discountjuicers.com/greenstar2000.html ] or similar is far better if you do a lot of leafy greens alone. For sorbet, the NC800 is great, and the VSJ843 is a no-go as it does not have a 'blank' screen. The Tri-Best SlowStar { SW2000B ] is a vertical juicer that comes with a masticating bowl for sorbet. Neither of the two models [NC800 or the VSJ843] is good for almond milk although you can make more like an almond water, but the VSJ843 will make a sort of almond milk. For nut milk(s) you really need a machine designed just for that purpose, like the Nutramilk [ discountjuicers.com/nutramilk.html ] , and they/it is awesome at that job.
      To answer your initial question, between the two models NC800 and the VSJ843, the NC800 will be the better choice. The VSJ will not do sorbet, the NC800 makes great sorbet. The VSJ makes a somewhat almond milk........but between the two models I would run soaked almonds through the 'blank' cone on the NC800, then put it in a blender to finish up.....with some added liquid, but it still isn't almond milk like from the store. Your better off soaking almonds overnight in filtered water and just using a blender.......than depending on the NC or VSJ for almond milk. I hope all this makes sense, if not, just let me know and I will attempt to clarify.

    for my first juicer. It lasted 3 years. I than bought the omega 365. It broke at 3 months and omega wouldn’t ship me a new one unless I paid shipping and handling. Btw.. the morpilots auger and omegas auger and attachment are completely interchangeable. I don’t disagree with what you are saying I think this video on a lot of things. However I am extremely dissatisfied with omega and their customer service

      The only problem I have is when I put carrots in, it sometimes blows the black end off. You can see it starting to separate from the clear plastic part when you put a heavy load on it. It does alright though.

    Hey John, I really enjoyed your recent soup video on Okraw. I've gotta try that real soon. BTW, do you think you would be able to sell the Magimix? If not, do you recommend a seller?
    Also, that Blendtec vacuum blender looks amazing! Do you know when that will be available on your website?
    Thanks for all you do!

    The feed chamber seems to move a lot when operating. It doesn't look that durable, at some point all of that movement is going to break the plastic.

    Watching your review is like watching a 2 HRS Movie, one has to take out time of their day, get some popcorn and listen an hour of mumbo jumbo to get 5 minutes of good info. There is some good info, but can you realize many people don't have a day to listen to blah blah blah...

    It’s a good idea that they give you about 30 juicing screens, as I am steering clear from omega, am so dissatisfied and disappointed with omega, the 15 year warranty with the omega 8006 is a smokescreen, because the motor is never going to break, however the crappy plastic parts are always breaking, and it always happens when try a juice fast. I think omega need to stop using plastic, it’s so annoying when your juicer breaks, and omega are the worst offenders... stop saying the plastic omega use resists breaking! It’s not true.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the plastic screens can break on ANY slow juicer. That being said, the 15 yr warranty does cover screen breakage if it is due to no fault of your own. I rarely break any screens, but I have broken a few. Is imporant to follow my juicing guidelines to minimize screen breakage I share in the video th-cam.com/video/9x9yv7aIQdQ/w-d-xo.html

    Don't buy Omega is crap. This morning my new NC1000 broke again for the third time. The black color plastic parts keep braking. Too bad you can't post pictures here on You Tube. To be more specific both my locking clip and blank end cap have broken.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I have also experienced a breakage on the Omega NC1000 as some of my customers have experiened. I would agree that the NC1000 is having some abnormal quality control problems. Normally Omega has solid machines. I do recommend sticking with "tried and true" models, such as the NC800. If you carefully watch my NC1000 vs NC800 video, you can see I prefer the NC800 overall. th-cam.com/video/kSIy1uonapI/w-d-xo.html

    • @Baldhills

      My NC1000 has broke twice since I purchased it in February. The plastic blank end cap is the weak part. It’s a problem juicer! Don’t buy it! Their Customer Service is very lacking also. I have a $400+ juicer that is 4 months and and is a paper weight. 😤🥵 Also they say since I bought it on Amazon I don’t have the 15 year warranty. I’ve never dealt with such a poor company! Avoid Omega!

      I usually Re~Juice my pulp once. Slow and steady wins the race.
      This machine will feed most all veggies and fruits by itself if the size is small enough.
      Use the bottom of the brush stick to push~out the pulp from the pulp end cap.

    OMEGA HAS LOWERED ITS QUALITY...... THEY MAKE CHEAP AND PROBLEMATIC MACHINES NOWDAYS.......
    IF YOU STILL WANT TO BUY AN OMEGA JUICER
    BUY THE OMEGA VSJ OR THE OMEGA 900.... THOSE 2 ARE THEIR BEST MODELS
