    Must've searched about a dozen different places for how to get the carb out of a shadow, only one who explained it properly 10/10

    It took your video to give me the confidence that I could do it. Carburetor officially out... not claiming victory just yet....but its something. :) Great video.

    I've gone through every step, but my carb remains unmovable. Using a pry bar actually snapped a piece off my cylinder head. What might I have missed?

    Wanted to know, how did you fix the air box after it separated? Mine did the same and it looks like some kind of sticky sealant.

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you talkin about the boots that are on the carburetor and on the other side connecting the second air box they should have no sealant on it they should have just clams and being nice and dry and tight.... Hope I understood your question correctly and thanks for your interest

    Great video... Question. I did a carb rebuild and now the a fuel is flowing freely out the vent hose. What could be causing that. Thanks.

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark...thanks for watching my video! Your carburetors are flooding out...it might be just one of the two but you need to open them back up...unfortunately. Double and triple check everything around the float, float needle, float needle seat. Did you get a rebuild kits? You should always replace at least the float needles and the float bowl gaskets...if your float needle seat is removable ( sorry … don't remember ) make sure you replace the o ring on it!
      Hope this will guide you towards success and please don't forget to subscribe to see more videos. I will be doing few more on this exact same bike in next week or so...still in the shop...good luck to you !

    • @markdeaver6724
      @markdeaver6724 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the response. I took the carb back off and opened up bowls. I reset the floats and floats needles. I started the bike back and at first it wasn't leaking flowing from the vent tube. I had very little gas in the tank. I put more gas in the tank and restarted bike. Gas then started flowing from the vent tubes. I originally bought the basic rebuild kit. I just purchased the full rebuild. I will let you know. Again thank you.

      I had mine off to clean and put back only to have a sticking pin. Gas flowing out everywhere. Have new pins and floats on the workbench but haven’t had time to reinstall after taking it off the second time. Ran better than ever for a few minutes before flooding. Hoping the new pins/floats do the trick on mine this time.

    Noise warning for the intro, sheesh. The last video I watched was super quiet, so I had my volume maxed with good headphones. Opened this video and BAAAAAAAM! As for the rest of this video's content, the title mentions cleaning the carbs, but the actual video only shows how to remove them. I already have my carbs removed. I just want to find a video showing someone cleaning all of the passages, jets, etc. It's a pretty good carb removal video with a pretty inaccurate title.

      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both of these motorcycles are reliable but completely different style if you like cruiser style you got to go with the Honda if you into sport bikes go with the Ninja but both will work good for you as long as they are in good condition to start with...that Honda it's not too old but make sure it's good condition no leaks etc
