The new Last Stand mode in Gates of Hell is Awesome!

- This is some of the most fun we've had with Gates of Hell in a while. It's a simple gamemode done really well with a lot of customisation options and consistent, intense combat. Plus it scratches the desire of every RTS player ever to just dig a bunch of trenches and defend something.

@4:58 Historically accurate T-50 tank: crew wasn't taught to aim, so they crush a mortar under their treads, and then immediately die because the extra bolted-on armor just means the worse power-to-weight ratio gets the tank stuck on something, and it's still just a light tank at the end of the day.
I see playing the bad Men at War game incited you to play the good one. (Simplified take, I know)
Men of war AS2 is pretty good as well :(
Wonder if that means we'll see him playing Homeworld 1/2 at some point.

Ahhh.. Clearly he does not remember MoWAS 1's Japanese kamikaze trucks.
At weakest they would send IS-3s to space, at strongest they would just crash the game.
Carl Gerat is strangely accurate with it's shot, because the reticle is smaller than the explosion no matter where it lands anything inside the reticle would be hit by the explosion

The thing is that AI in this game (and most of MoW) cheat with artilleries. You can't rely on them not hitting. That is the only thing that stop me from saying that this game is perfect.

The "AI" thingy you see under a certain unit is the game devs forgot to switch them from AI controlled to user controlled, by default it is set to AI you can check them in the editor in each "living entity" like cars and dudes
(ai is set for entities that are under AI control)
(it gives them infinite ammo)
Being able to see the AI artillery going off in the fog of war would both be fairly realistic and solve this problem organically.
@@farmerboy916 You can. This is a game mechanic. You can markers appear in the minimap when enemy artillery fires, revealing their location.

Secondly, that hysterical manic laugh when blowing up the tank at the start/end of the video seems to be universal with nerds. :P War nerds, tech nerds, you tickle their taint and they always hit that pitch. Even I do! XD

Speaking of Which, the most Blursed thing I've seen in the ArmA 3 Community is a 1:1 Scale Map of the whole Map from Grand Theft Auto V. It's so laggy, especially when you get to Los Santos itself! I'd hate to see an Operation being done on that map, because there's going to be plenty of People buying new PC's from having to render everything in.

I love the finnisv in last stand mode. Just building a few coastal guns with heavy engineers that has multiple stages of construction. Also got infuriated when my friend was "demobilizing" some tropps to get more pop cap and he blew up a supply truck that took down two of my squads and a tank

This is such a breath of fresh air after MoW2
This sounds good, maybe I should finally pick this up sometime. The original Men of War was at its best during defensive missions in the campaign (mostly due to the AI being so bad) and I was always pretty disappointed by how Assault Squad played (1 and 2), but this game looks to be in a pretty good spot overall.

It's weird how in the whole series, fire, AT grenades and recoilless guns are better at instant kill any armors than AT shells from AT guns, if you can get close enough.

The brutality of this is simulation levels of war horrors.
The last stand mode is completely unhinged. I swear the ai just spams mortars and field guns to piss me off 😂

I was playing men of war as 2 and had a mk 3 valentine and it took over 60 ap rounds and was only killed once shot from behind and once it ran out of ammo
games with functional pve survival modes is always high on my list, this looks so fun

These missions are like last grenadier LITE edition, you should play the modded campaign rimmy you’d love it
this is so much better than men of war 2 it isnt even close
It honestly does seem like anything short of AT spam is good in this game. Cause the AI just seems to spam only its heavy armored units and not much else. Constantly blitzkrieging your lines and capture points using tanks and only tanks.
It itself barely uses any AT and instead constantly resorts to HE or anti armor weapons at all outside of its tank units.
I enjoyed the 'original' Call to Arms when it went free a few years ago. Even with only two armies to play it was fun, and I really enjoyed being able to manually control tanks and artillery. I though about getting the upgrade pack or Gates of Hell, but I'm not a huge RTS fan and I'm not sure I'd play enough to justify the purchase
Try Men of War: Assault Squad 2, pretty much the same thing at cheaper price (Although you don't get 3rd-person direct control), a lot more Mods to play too.
@@svyalinirnhut890 Definitely not the same thing, AS2 is broken and old. GoH is a much more polished game, i cant even play AS2 with 3 of my friends because it just crashes constantly.
To be honest my favorite tank of ww2 would be the BT-42

It genuinely wonder how Gates of Hell that has about 100 or less employees can outdo Relic with Company of Heroes 3. I do want the best for COH3 but they are lacking compared to how much Gates of Hell offers.
