Cool technique. You probably figured out already that doing two drawers side by side would have made the pattern more uniform. thanks for sharing. Going to try this.
I can’t wait to try this technique. Even tho the more broom strokes, the more paint is removed, but all those opposite direction strokes are what developes the depth of the look. Love it.
Well, I was fully prepared all the way through to tell you that it's a good thing that everyone has different tastes because this finish would be great for some but not for others(me). Then you finished and it's fantastic. I was going in one direction and you made me u turn. Pretty sneaky.
@@aliferefurbished It was a struggle both times actually. The first one the paint/glaze ratio was perfect, but the brush kept leaving hair and lint in the finish. I eventually got it and it sold quickly. I bought a new "brush" for the second one and also got a small one- so I felt set. However, after I finished the second piece, the paint/glaze ratio, and the lack of "scratchiness" in the new brush, left the piece too dark- with not enough base colour coming through. I had to redo the whole piece (a nine drawer dresser btw). I added more glaze and water, and the colour was good the next attempt. I staged and photographed it, and was ready to list when my cat scratched the top! (yes, there was tears) I had to do the top for the third time!! Let's say, I'll be glad when it sells and I never have to look at it again!!! Hahaha ... I must be a glutton for punishment, because I will try it again ;)
Haha thanks for sharing! I didn’t record it, but Luna started sniffing one of the drawers while it was drying and left a few marks, so I had to work on it a 3rd time!! The finish is definitely unpredictable in some areas.
It looks like a cool jean look for a teens bedroom. 😊 I like it
I think so too! It’s different but I like it. 😊

@@Zibutegerard That’s a great idea ☺️

Yes, you could brush as little or as much as you like, it's a fun one.

I just finished my second attempt at this finish. I definitely want to try a dark one next time.
How did yours go?

@@aliferefurbished I have to let go of my strive for a perfectly smooth finish for sure. It's all growth, I feel :)
Love this finish! I just did it on a toy chest with 3 colors - cream, denim and navy. Great tip to tape the edges, I’ll do that next time.
A toy chest is the perfect piece to try a technique like this one for the first time. I’m so impressed you went for it, great colors.
Love it.
Thanks! I know is different!
Blue jean dresser!
Totally!
Have you ever shipped your furniture to a buyer? Do you sell on Etsy or anything like that?
Hi! I have! I work with a shipper and give my customers an estimate.
I LOVE it! I'm going to do this on my ikea Hemmes dresser soon. Fantastic job girl 😁 it makes me want to do the Levi red tab on it😆
Haha it totally has that rugged jean look for sure! 😊
