- I Finally Tried the FAUX LINEN TECHNIQUE | Furniture Painting Idea
Ive been dying to try this faux linen painting technique thats been circling around social media and I am so glad I finally was able to try it out!
I achieved this furniture painting look using only products from my local hardware store, like oops or mistinted paint and glaze.
It made for an inexpensive way to achieve this look!
Let me know your thoughts on the final results!
I enjoyed it, and I will definitely be trying it again!

Wish the camera picked up the linen look more. I'll bet it's beautiful irl! 💙
me too!! 😫
I'd never seen or heard of this technique before. I love the softness it gave to the piece. The simple black knobs perfectly finished off the classic look. Great job as always, Glenda!
Thank you! ❤️
My favorite Texas vet tech! Love the end result!
Youre so sweet! Thank you! ❤️
I absolutely love that faux linen finish. After seeing you do it, I may have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
Nice paint effect. Giving a new lease of life to a tired chest of drawers. 😘❤️🇬🇧
I actually have that entire Ikea bedroom set - have had it since 2010 and it's held up exceptionally even after 2 moves. Now you're making want to give it a new look. Great job. Love your work!
Glenda, just realizing how many videos I'm behind!! Gonna keep comments short & sweet cause I'm going on a binge right now. Looking forward to the room makeovers. Hoping all is well friend, Dirty Jersey out!!

Glenda I love your work and your pieces are so inspiring. This one especially 😀😀
Very nice! Loved seeing the caterpillars. You will probably have a bunch of butterflies soon🎈
they’re webworms 😩 that have infected almost all of our 20+ pecan trees.. they will not turn into butterflies… currently working on getting them under control…
@@GlendaChavez it was fun watching anyways. I love your work👍
I've done a similar technique, but I didn't use a glaze and I used a small straw broom like she did to get the texture. I did it for a nightstand and it sold quickly.
Beautiful, Glenda! Love this technique and the colors you created are perfect for it. Thx so much for sharing.💜
Thank you! ❤️
7:02 the bug is like "is this my new home? I love it!" Haha.

Bonjour Glenda, j'aime beaucoup cet effet texturé sur cette commode. Merci pour ouvrir l'esprit sur des techniques différentes.

Bit of a learning curve but not difficult!
It looks lovely.
I have done a few with great success. Yours is simply elegant. Well done.
Elegant style💚
This is the best make over I have ever seen! So chic and beautiful! I want to try this on my dresser. I can’t seem to find any description of which colours you used first try and the second try when you went a bit darker. Is there any chance you could give us the exact colour names, that would be so great! Thanks x
Glenda, It turned out beautiful. Wonderful 1st attempt with this technique.
Thank yoU! at first I wasn't so sure, but I love how it turned out!

Beautiful job Glenda l this technique is new for me. But love the result
Loved the results!
It's just beautiful; great job!!
It looks nice. I wasn't familiar with this finish.
Very nice🌝
I have watched other videos of this strIe technique and tried it on buffet doors but it did not turn out well for me at all. It looked like cat scratches on the doors rather than linen. It is not an easy technique in my opinion. I have painted many pieces of furniture and feel it takes a special talent of artistry. I used a khaki green versus your lighter taupe. I think your dresser looks good though I do not see the linen marks real clear. You amaze me with your talent and always enjoy watching!
Great tips for the technique, Glenda. If you have any interest would love to see you trouble shoot for us the fabric on furniture technique. I saw k.Scott do it a few months she gave good tips but would like to see you do it before I try loll. I’ve been flipping pieces on the side saving but not doing anything unique or artsy lol only easy solid color flips. The orbital sander ant contact paper inside drawers is a bout as adventurous as I got so far. I got a nice solid wood desk from the restore a week ago, I really want to ‘refinish’ and not paint but idk that I’m that skilled at fixing up the repairs but I’ll watch more videos because I really want to keep refinish it. We’ll see… 🤗 give little diva a virtual 🫂 from us too
Ill be Sure to add it to the list of things to try!!! ❤️
Thank you for the suggestion!
How do you know when to use an oil base primer or regular primer?
I tend to alternate just based on what I feel like using that day honestly...
The times I won't use water based is if its a piece that is laminate, or if it has a factory like finish like this one, or If im painting over something already painted.. (if any concern for adhesion)
working indoors/outdoors will help determine as well.
Hope that helps! ❤️
I want to try this technic. I was thinking what if I paint it a solid color then do the glazing/paint technique on top of the solid color do you think that would work???
I believe so !
Just make sure to use 2 contrasting colors so you can see the detail!
Beautiful work!
Cool technique. But I think the 🐛 stole my attention. 😂
hahah those things are everywhere! were working on getting them under control, but with over 20 pecan trees on our property its been challenging lol
what a neat idea and it looks beautiful!
Thank you! 😊❤️
