This was a great idea to help us get started on our own DIY PVC kit. Thank you so much! Since I just did it, I thought I'd share some details from our experience. I spent about $150 at Home Depot, not including tools since I already had those. It's really easy to use the cutter on 1/2" pipe even if you have no experience. Just take your time getting it lined up before each cut. You generally don't have to work to hard to get these pieces in or out. A little twist is all it takes. The hardest one could be to get a small connector out. A pair of vice grips can't hurt if you have one handy. But even some slip joint pliers should work well enough. Again, just use them to get it twisting and it should come out pretty easy. You shouldn't even need to pull it out. I bought fittings that I could in bulk, and I overbought including Elbows and Couplings that aren't used in this project but that we might use in the future. Keep in mind that if you build with Couplings, the "doubling" of sizes won't quite work since the connectors were based on using Tees. It probably won't matter much if you just use one here or there where you're missing the size you need, but don't make a habit of using them. I bought 20 lengths of 1/2" Sch. 40 PVC pipe. I used the exact measures given in the video and here's what I got out of it. The sizes are really good so that you end up with very little waste even if you don't plan that hard. Out of 2,400" total pipe length, you'll see that this adds up to 2,381" or less than 1% waste. Nice! This is enough to build the full structure in the video with some leftovers. Blue (48.5") - Qty. 18 Green (23.75") - Qty. 45 Red (11") - Qty. 28 Yellow (4.75") - Qty. 21 Connectors (1.5") - Qty. 21 And here are the fittings that I bought. Again this is enough to build the full structure with some leftovers. Make sure that everything you buy is "S" or Socket. Don't buy threaded or slip. Side Outlet Elbow - Qty. 20 (this is the technical term for those 3-way corners) 45 degree Elbow - Qty. 20 Tees - Qty. 45 (they came in 15 packs at Home Depot, 40 is probably enough) Cross - Qty. 6 Home Depot also had an assorted size pack of spring clips for $9. It looks like it will be enough for most projects. Hope it helps. Have fun!

Hi great job! Thanks for sharing your project. On the dimensions when i compare Blue vs green it looks like 2 x 23 3/4 = 47.5 + 1 inch (space for connectors) = 48.5 which is what you have for blue. But then 2 red at 11 = 22 + 1 inch space for connector amounts to 23" and not 23 3/4.. For sure you are correct but can you please explain what i am missing. Thank you.
I keep them in a large tupperware container. Except for the Blue pieces - they're too big, so I just store them in the corner in my basement. You can get away with not having blue pieces though - just combine two greens to make the same size. And I keep all the connectors and clips in a smaller container inside the large one.
