I just ordered one of these kits yesterday. Given the price compared to other entry level offerings, I had to if I wanted to get away from controller. What I'm super interested in finding out though, is what this thing's guts look like. I want to know if a bit of dedication and DIY gumption can make this kit really shine. How hard is it going to be to swap out those motors for more powerful ones? Can I throw some better dual rate springs in the pedals or even rig up a load cell to them? That kinda stuff. There's barely any Tamiya left on my DT-02 RC car, maybe there'll only be a bit of PXN left on this kit when I'm done with it.
Ive played in a G29 and G920, I hated, my thrust master 150 (when I had it) was leagues better in feel. Getting back into it all, I think before jumping straight to a Moza R5 or R9, this V99 is the ticket. Run it for a year or 2, resell it for $100 easy, probably add a eBay handbrake and I think this is the best intro set to anyone unless they just cant do setting and tweaking
Just got this wheel and in my situation I was upgrading from a 2006 Logitech Momo and this is lightyears ahead for less than $100 more than a used momo. The settings and config leaves a lot to be desired. Some games detect it as the V99, others as a legacy wheel and needs a bunch of keybind config and a small selection of games does not detect it at all. The config app is basically useless so you're at the direction of the in-game wheel settings (which some games have a very poor setting menu) I completely agree with the shifter feeling like a toy. My biggest complaint is how small the knob feels and how short the gates actually are. It's really easy to throw it into the wrong gear out of the box without a decent amount of practice. The pedals are strange. Heavy to press but are on very light plastic so the base likes to move. And the mounting braces are basically useless. More steering intensive games like F1 just throw the wheel around with the braces that have only one tightening point. Its still been a great wheel. The detachable wheel makes it look like a fancy, expensive direct drive unit. (Hopefully the V99 gets some traction and someone makes a custom F1 wheel for it.) Great in BeamNG, F1 with proper settings, ACC has no issues. Pressing the home button for around 10 seconds puts it into xinput mode and emulators like rpcs3 detect it as a controller, allowing you to set it up for GT or Forza if you're insane.
It seems to be a good starter kit for the basic beginner and that price point is great! But, I'm curious to know how it compares to, say, a Logitech G29/923 as far as feel and performance.
it comes below them in build and overall performance but you can pxn v99 bundle (wheel, pedals and shifter) in the price of new g29 wheel and pedals bundle (if you want its shifter it will be extra 40-50$}
HELP which one should i get pxn wise, the v10 or this v99? concerns on the v10 is the small steering wheel and material and concerns from this v99 is the brake feel
How is this one? I can get it for 180 on amazon...then Im debating to get the DD pxn v12 but its 469...been hearing disconnecting problems with the pxns, but then no issues. So was also looking at the Moza r3( $359) Strickly for Xbox. Any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated
Really planing on get this one. I only get afraind about the app. Apps die easier than pc software, if pxn in a few years decide to no longer support it, the functionalities of the ffb might become useless. there are plenty of old controllers, and other types of hardware that you can still find the propper drivers uploaded by users even after the companies dissapeared, if it happens to pxn i dunno if it will be as easy to save the app. Still for the price this is much more cost benefit than logitechs
At the same time, it can be good for a lower budget computer, since no extra software will be running eating processing power. I had to uninstall the logitech driver for my X52 hotas due to how much processing and ram it was eating. So to each con a pro i guess
I would love to see and understand what is going on with their PS capabilities. If it works on PS4 it should work on PS5. I know you don't have the equipment, but I keep hoping one of these other shows will actually try them on camera. Anyways, I just did the Finland rally. That is one of the most fun rallies and only 9 people? I know you are busy moving. Hope you can do that sooner than later.
Tbh either one would be good for just drifting. I'd go with the PXN , just because it's newer tech than the G29 and use can use different PXN wheels with the PXN.
You could remap reverse to 7th, or use the high/low switch: 7th gear being 1 high. Reply to this in like a week when I have the kit and I'll see if you can use that reverse push down thing in gears other than 6th. That'd be handy, but I doubt it's possible if the shifter mechanically works the way I think it does.
I still prefer my G923 (Xbox/PC) than this thing. My poor old Thrustmaster TX shitted himself after 9 years of heavy uses. My broken ass decided to get a G923 because I can't stand playing ATS without a steering wheel...
I absolutely despise their ffb. Lol also no do not grip the wheel extra you need to be looser when sim racing with a softer grip to feel every little notr of the ffb and it will absolutely make you faster!
Just got mine yesterday and im blown away, i was gonna get the Logitech but im glad i saved a bit of cash on this beauty
inn wat game do you used it?
@@faizxs1 thats the issue.. there are no drivers so the ffb is super raw.. if this thing had proper drivers it would be real competition to the g920
I play assetto corsa , works fine with others, m check the Web to see compatibility
@@GameplayTherapy have you played beam with it? and if you have does the ffb work on beam
massive quality improvement on the channel. congrats!
Much appreciated!
Best budget sim bundle I've ever seen!
They nailed the price for sure!
looks like a great one from pxn and great review brother
The new Plastic King has entered the room! lol
Not for me but great video none the less Shaun!

Do you recommend this v99 or a g29? Can you feel the extra torque nm?
Have you purchased ?
For the price points your not getting top notch specs . You're getting enough to get by for a decent entry level wheel experience
its $189.00 on Amazon
Odd it's not PS5 ready. If if had, it would have been a entry lvl beast set for the casual racer.
There's a USB adapter for ps5 now, I use it on ps5... Pretty legit
PXN has an adapter for ps5 which needs to be purchased separately. I use it on ps5.

PXN V99 or Thrustmaster T248? Need help please. I am planning to buy tomorrow. Just gonna use it for FORZA HORIZON 4 on Xbox Series X.
if price is same go for t248
go for PXN V99 because T248 is not comfortable
No pxn v99 disassemble video?
no upcoming PXN V12 Lite review?
We're working on it!

What happens if the vehicle you are driving in the sim has 7 speeds?
You could remap reverse to 7th, or use the high/low switch: 7th gear being 1 high.

This is not really compatible with Playstation because the connection always breaks every 5 to 10 minutes
Your driving technique is bad but I do trust your hardware reviews.
