    Yeah, but you left out part of the info you can quickly determine by this method. Left or right pattern based on your position relative to the airport and whether you would be in a better position for entry on the downwind or base. Assuming pattern is up for pilots discretion.

    could you make this any more complicated? note to self.......look at wind sock, land into the wind. (the big end is pointing into the wind, the little end is pointing downwind. hint, you do NOT want to land downwind! do you make everything in life this complicated? wow! can't believe it took you 17 minutes to totally confuse yourself and discourage anyone who was thinking they might want to be a pilot! i could make the above video in less than 1 minute, but of course my goal would be to actually make this simple to understand and not to make a long winded video for whatever reason folks do this.

    The number 8 is considered extremely lucky in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word for wealth and prosperity.

  • @brucethecurmudgeon8538

    You showed easy to figure out scenarios. You land on the runway closest to the wind. What you need to show is more divergent winds rather than just 30 degrees off of heading. For instance runway 5/23 winds 310@ 6KT.

    33-18 = 8? What’s going on?

  • @sam111880
    @sam111880 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So basically you want to land on a runway closest to wind coming directly at you to aid stopping. (also taking in picking asphalt or concrete over rocks or grass surfaces for better stopping / just better for your plane). And your other method when it goes over 9 your just using the reciprocal runways

    • @TheThriftyPilot

      Land against the wind and everyone wins!
