Since you asked for tips... My biggest tip would be to make sure you don't reward him for barking at all and make sure you don't unintentionally teach him that barking gets your attention or gets him what he wants. For example if he's barking wanting to come inside or get on the couch make sure you ignore him until he stops barking or make him sit before you let him up on the couch. You just don't want him to learn to bark whenever he wants something or wants attention. Your doing great with training him tho he's so cute!

Emma I swear this puppy is bringing out the best in you! You seem so calm and relaxed now ever since you’ve gotten him! Maybe he is just what God sent to you for your anxieties. You seem like you’re in such a natural state around him. And seeing the way you are with him, shows that you’re gonna make an excellent mummy some day! ☺️☺️
My best tip for new dog owners is setting up boundaries for your them. Especially with small breeds I think people forget about this, but it's actually super helpful/healthy for them since they are pack animals. It can be as simple as having him sit and wait for you to allow him to enter the apartment after a walk, not entering the kitchen, etc. This is also a great way for him to learn respect for you and for anyone else that you interact with!
The small crate are actually good fir dogs anxiety. That’s what I was taught. It should only be big enough for them to stand up and fully turn around in. It makes them feel safe. That’s what I was told at least.

Tip since I just got a puppy a few weeks ago : you should be taking him out every 15-20 minutes to get them used to peeing outside and not on a puppy pad

Tips: Feed him in his crate, create a positive association with the crate, so toys, treats in the crate.
don’t pay attention to him when he cries in his crate, if you do he will learn it gets your attention (what he wants), also cover the crate with a blanket.
Also if the crate is too big he’s more likely to have accidents in there. make sure it’s divided so he can only get up and turn around !
the nibbling will stop when he gets his adult teeth!

Also, you should definitely start teaching him the basic command such as “sit, stay, down, and leave it” puppies are so smart and they learn really quickly, so he should get the hang of them in no time!
I have had so many puppies and one of the things we have done is when they bark when going down for a nap, you have to leave them alone and let them get used to the new environment. Another thing that really helps is putting a blanket or towel over the crate at night to allow them to feel like they are in a cozy and safe space, not a closed-in cage, if that makes sense. He's so cute and I'm so jealous!!
Props for raising a dog in an apartment, seems super inconvenient. My 2 Huskies are constantly outside and I can’t imagine taking them on more than like 3 walks per day.

this is so random but I used to think you were like 5+ years older than me, and then I found out we were born a WEEK apart! The fact that your my age makes you seem like a BFF I love it!
give him treats whenever you put him in the crate, and try and always say "bye" when you leave him there! if you always say the same word when you leave they will beggin to understand and have less anxiety when you leave. Also, when he nibbles on you make a loud squel or something- it will scare him & help him understand you dont like it!

when crate training make sure it’s comfy in the crate for them throw a blanket in there and then throw a sheet over the crate so they will know it’s time to sleep and they can’t see you

Such a cute pup! My bf and I got a pup 3 months ago and some crate training advice would just to be patient, try to ignore when he barks in the crate and only take him out when he is quiet! We also would give our pup treats when she went in the crate! As for nipping that is inevitable and our pup is 5 months now and still nips, they grow out of it when all of their adult teeth grow in, but just try to give him a toy every time he starts nipping and if he’s being too rough I would try to walk away from him and ignore him! Hope it all goes well, it gets worse before it gets better!❤️

When he pees or poos, remember to bring him to the same place every time and use the phrases “go pee” and “go poo” each time you bring him to his spot and then reward him with a treat every single time. This way your dog has a routine and will be excited to go to the bathroom! I got a puppy in June and this has really helped potty train him! I would say with this routine my dog was fully potty trained by four months!!
By the way, i have a dog trainer and this is the advice he gave to me!!! I would highly recommend getting a dog trainer if you want a well-behaved dog!!!!

Puppy is so cute! Best tip you will love, put a string of bells on your outside door to train him to go out. When ever your taking him out potty, you ring the bells with his nose and say “ outside potty” don’t let him play with them, it’s just for him to train to ring the bells when he has to go potty. Also if your keeping him in the play yard he really shouldn’t have pea pads where he’s going to sleep or stay, that’s why they recommend small crate to stay in while your away, you can make a designated spot for the pea pad, but I would train with the bells not the pad. He will do great they catch on really fast.

heads up! got a quarantine puppy in march and while i was sleeping he bit the corner of my computer one time and completely ruined it, had to buy a whole new macbook! keep an eye on him by your computer! it only takes one bite!!

I got a puppy 2 months ago and keep to the crate training. Dont give up! Puppies have to pee like every hour for weeks! It's tough. The pee pads are not a good idea, keep taking him outside. And I can't stress enough to get him food motivated. Puppies will always nibble, especially slippers for mine. STAY CONSISTENT! It's not easy
I would recommend only calling him by his name (not boy, pup, nicknames) until he learns his name well, otherwise he may be confused/not learn it

Hey tip! Only put one pee pad in the pen if he's using it then move it closer and closer to door them outside then he will let you know then he has to go to get to it .....then no more accidents in the house!!!

My best tip is to bell train him. Hang some doggy bells near your front door and whenever you take him outside to pee, lift his paws up and touch the bells. That way he will learn to ask to go outside by ringing his bells!
Sorry last point😂😂: it’s extremely crucial to socialize your puppy as early as possible just so he doesn’t have behavorisl issues around other dogs and humans (of course be safe and make sure he has all his shots before he’s around adult dogs) but this is so important to do while your dog is a puppy!
Main thing is to ignore bad behaviour (NEVER punish or get angry) but praise good behaviour. Then they quickly pick it up. Then for the nibbling try putting soft toys or a carrot (to eat) in the freezer, it’s probably because he’s in pain and teething, and this helps soothe them. Or if he’s actually chewing furniture try bitter apple spray, they hate the taste but it doesn’t do them any barm and it puts them off it 😂 good luck you are doing great 💛💛

I don’t recommend teaching him to use the bathroom on pee pads, that is teaching him to go potty in the house it’s very misleading for the dog when you want him to go outside. That’s my recommendation 😊❤️
