Nice. I just got my Tarahumara a couple weeks ago. After a couple days out in the woods with it, I can finally say I've found "the one." Great bag. Thanks for the ideas of what else to throw in/on it!
What are those food pouches by the way? Can't get a good look at them on my phone.

Awesome! I've been enjoying mine for sure. I'm glad to hear you got some ideas from the video!
The food pouches are just Walmart brand packages of meat. No preparation needed and easy cleanup. I usually go for barbecue pork and plain chicken. Good bit of protein and some carbs and sugar and such in the barbecue for a little energy boost. It's food I enjoy, too, so it's also a good pick me up if I'm a little low on mental energy.

Very good video on the Tarahumara and what you are carrying in it. Unless I missed it in the video, do you carry a compass as well in this set up? I've got this pack and several others from HPG and I agree, they have quality equipment... thanks ...

Thanks! I don't generally have a compass in this pack. I will often have a Suunto MC2G in my HPG Umlindi, but the limited space in the Tarahumara forced the compass out. If I'm doing some serious cross-country travel, then it'll probably go somewhere in/on the pack, but I don't keep it in there all the time. I always have a Suunto MCB in my pocket, though, so keeping one in the pack isn't necessary in my mind.

@@americanwoodloreandforestcraft Copy that and thanks for the reply. I usually carry one in a pouch on the pack strap or chest rig. Great channel and content 👍

Some type of cordage would be nice.

Good point, but I don't often carry cord in my pack. It typically goes in my possibles bag, which I'll show in a future video
