I don't know about you guys, but this total rewiring scares the hell out of me! ;) :) But, after investing what we do in our cars, makes sense to not let something short out and destroy our hard work. Thank goodness for Bill and his 'can do' attitude! I watch most of your videos many times Bill. Don't ever quit on us! ;)
A buddy of mine gave me some electrical tape years ago that was 'catalyzed'. He worked at a nuclear power plant, and this tape had a unique, to me, feature. You cut what you needed, stretched it momentarily, then wrapped your connection. The tape got warm, then set up like a rock! There was no peeling it back off. Never seen any since. :) But, I guess you don't want your connections coming apart at a nuclear power plant!! ;)
I’m a little behind on videos but it was really cool running into you at cruisin the coast, your videos of the event were definitely an inspiration for us to attend the first time. Look forward to seeing you here with Christine. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Looks like awesome wiring harness. At least you know its all new and you shouldnt have any issues down the road. Once you get that done and get the interior installed, you will be that much closer to cruising in Christine. Thanks Bill!
I (actually my students) rewired the 85 drag car Camaro I have at the school to teach my students auto wiring. We did it from scratch. NEVER again! 🤣 These pre made wire kits are definitely the way to go. “So what did we learn the last 3 weeks guys…..absolutely never rewire a car without using a prefab wiring kit!” 🤣🤣🤣 You are definitely getting closer Bill, I am so excited for you! I’d start concentrating on the items that make Christine drivable. You can always roll Cruisein’ The Coast without an interior etc if need be?
I'm not there yet, but purchased a Hwy 22 Autowire Kit for my 54 Chevy Pickup LS build. The kit looks looks great and lots of good markings I see. The tools you're using for cutting and crimping, are they from the same company also. Seems I may need those when the time comes, I THINK! Thanks for doing a video on this, as it will be my first wiring application. 🤙😎
@almoulaison2439 The crimper is Pertronix and the wire stripper is Summit's label, where they both came from. I uploaded Part 1 of the install this weekend. Part 2 will be up next week.
In the process of putting this kit in my 55 right now. Make sure to mount the fuse panel bracket exactly the way it says or you will have to redo it. Ask me how I know 😂
How did you add the trim piece behind on the A pillar? I did what you did by installing the windshield. I now see there is a trim piece on the A pillar and am afraid I need to take the windshield out. It looks like the video previous to this it was not installed but now it is. Thanks

How much time does it take for the install.
A good 4 or 5 days. There is a lot of time spent planning and making decisions as it goes.
