idk if this makes sense but your tiny kitchen, normal kitchen tools, and accessible ingredient list is so appealing. its actually relatable and doesn't make people feel like they have to be a professional chef to make the dishes

I know, it's so relatable and I also find smallish spaces to be very cozy and comforting. She's since moved to a new place with a much larger kitchen and fridge. While her new kitchen is beautiful and I'm so happy for her success (she deserves it), I definitely miss her old kitchen!

MAKE THIS SOUP!!!!!!!!!! Please! I beg of every person who’s reading. It’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!! Although this is not a Polish soup recipe, with the potatoes and the dill... white wine vinegar... my husband walked in the kitchen and said it smells like a typical Polish kitchen! We both loved this!!! I was worried the green onion would overpower the dill, but it didn’t. I did everything just as directed with the exception of using part low sodium chicken broth and water and it was still super flavorful. Paired with homemade sourdough and it was the absolute perfect rainy day meal! Thank you for posting this recipe that I’ll be making for many many years to come! So grateful!

10/10 - loved this recipe! So easy and def adding to the rotation. I followed it pretty much exactly except that I cooked the leeks/ potatoes a lot longer since i'm someone who loves a little caramelization and added a parmesan rind when simmering! SO good and the vinegar is a must.

I absolutely love this human, not only is she hilarious and generally wonderful, not only does she have the same cooking style as me, but a million times better, but she has all kinds of useful tips. I used one today by saving the nutrient rich water. If you steam in the microwave for example you may have a bit leftover and there is alot of flavor in that. Especially for soup, I think you want to conserve flavor. Beautiful human, here.

So I made the soup looked into my fridge and found everything but the leeks, off to the market. Again so easy and good. Love your take on simple. Who needs box meals you still have to prepare. I added juice from my yellow peppers jar for a little kick. Plus dropped about six of them.

I always buy a pack of 3 leeks from the supermarket here in England when the single ones have sold out, but only really need one for my version of Kinugasa Don so am left wondering how to use up the others as leek generally doesn't feature much in my cooking (unless I'm making a cauldron of Provencal style Minestrone). I love sour cream, potato and dill so I'm thrilled to have had this video recommended for me by The Algorithm. I could live on soup and very nearly do. This soup reminded me of Russian Pickle soup, so I know I'm going to love it. Thanks Alison for covering me this week: my husband's having a root canal in a few days so will only be willing to tackle food that he can slurp with ingredients 'that are so tender they're falling apart'. You made perfect sense to me, I'm THAT superfan!

I made this soup today (eating it now), which is my first Alison Roman recipe. At first I was like, eh eek this might suck it's just water and potatoes and this weird vegetable I've never eaten before...but it really came together at the end! The herbs are actually a must, vinegar makes the soup come alive and the sour cream brings it all together. Will make again!

I’ve made boring PLS, I need to make your version! I agree with everything you did - especially NOT puréeing it! Allison, you are SUCH a joy to watch and your recipes are wonderful! Also I LOVE the story of ‘Stone Soup’! Apparently there are numerous versions - the one I recall was about traveling soldiers stopping at a poor village where everyone was afraid of them & refused to feed them or offer beds. One soldier set up a kettle in the middle of town & put a stone in the pot to make ‘stone soup’. He asked a villager for a cup of milk, another for an onion, etc, until they had a big pot of soup for everyone to enjoy.

You've done a stellar job of showing your viewers that is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Your kitchen is perfectly organized and well-managed - lean and clean..."a place for everything and everything in its place!" (BTW - do you have a microwave? Where are you hiding it?)

I can’t wait to make this! Stone Soup used to be my favorite book. Captain Kangaroo would read that on his show. Yes I’ve been around for a few years. 😊🐾🐾

All of her/your recipes are creative, delicious easy to make with readily available ingredients (although I swear there was a run on leeks the day after the recipe was published in the newsletter).
    It’s just culinary magic!

OMG the potatoes I ordered that were to be large are tiny this week. Watching you not peel potatoes makes me happy since I'll be making this tomorrow night for dinner with bone broth. Can't wait to try this tomorrow with the deep greens of the leeks and lots of dill.
