      People are going to continue the trends inspired by the past 2 years of Coronavirus lockdowns, but this time by CHOICE:
      Baking breads at home;
      Making more home-cooked meals;
      Enjoying meals, movies, and 'old school' board/card games at home, with family and friends;
      Continue learning their new craft/hobby, be it sourdough, gardening, journaling, brewing, online schooling, etc;
      Continue to prefer outdoor dining in good weather {whether at home or in restaurants};
      Continue exercising that isn't dependent on gym memberships, like walking, biking, playing basketball, swimming in public pools, etc;
      There'll now always be some musicians playing on their balcony.....
      LESS of shopping, dining out, replacing clothes yearly.
      So more of the relaxing, comfy, down-home activities with people you really care about, continuing to stimulate the mind through formal or informal education.... A re-focus on what's important and pleasurable in life.

    Since you're the Queen of Anchovies (and everything food) will you ever grace us with your version of a Caesar Salad? I made the Dilly Bean Stew when you first released it in the newsletter and it's so good, will definitely make again before it gets too warm here to really crave stew.

    I just made this for dinner tonight. And I didn’t prep my ingredients so at the very end of the recipe I realized that I didn’t have white vinegar, but I did have apple cider vinegar. I substituted the vinegar and just wanted to pop on here to say… don’t do that. The recipe says to use lemon juice if you don’t have vinegar which is what I wish I had done. Apple cider vinegar is not going to be a great substitute. We did still eat it but masked the flavor with a bit of heavy cream.

    O.M.G. This soup hits all the right notes! Vegetarian (yes, I used the butter), beans, cabbage, hint of dill and touch of acidity from the vinegar. Everything melds into one delicious stew. However, I should have made more frizzled onions! I want those on an ooey gooey grilled cheese made with rye bread. Thank you, thank you!!!❤️

    Vid is several months old, but wanted to mention R.L. Schreiber bases. I started buying Better Than Bullion, because of the convenience, but if they sold it in stores, I'd get R.L. Schreiber, just because you can get it in bulk quantities. They sell every flavor imaginable, and they sell it in pints and quarts. My dad was a chef and would get it through work. We'd have them on the bottom of our fridge, and they lasted just this side of forever.

    good to have u back.
    the way an idea of a recioe comes to you and having enough self believe that whatever it'll turn into, gonnabe good and then start your recipe developing process is more or less similar to writer or artist's procrss of working!
    it's very cteative. and every word I said is true. Do you want to kbow how am so sure of that?
    cause, I myself follow similar process in my work, whether it's poetry, prose or painting!
    These few words as an intro is what Alison Roman's home movies is all about! & it's worth every bit to wait for your next video.
    you basically are an artist. your medium is cooking and writing about it.
    mine is writing and working with lines-colors-forms, or simply say, Art.
    I can relate to your thinking process and you inspire me creatively in a whole diffetent way(cause i don't cook, just love to eat and watch a lot of cookin shows).🙂
    cheers!
