I can’t wait to make your version of a shrimp scampi! Thank you for fulfilling my request- this is the coolest thing that has happened this decade thus far 😭🥰 #romanfangirl4ever
I don't know who edits Alison's videos but that guy/gal deserves a pay rise and a promotion. When Alison was asked 'how does it feel to have deveined so many shrimps' and then the champion music came on with the little label '17th Championship in franchise history'. I lost it, I thought that was hilarious!
You have such magnetic charisma when you teach and cook, it’s utterly obvious how much passion you have for cooking and yet your sense of humor and wit makes it feel like I’m being taught by and cooking with a big sis who just happens to be a world famous culinary artist. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge with the world!
I searched Alison Roman because I was hungry and it felt like ages since the last video, and this video was posted 2 minutes ago which must be the earliest I have ever been lol
Alison, I live in New Orleans. We cook & eat a lot of 🦐 shrimp! In my 60 years, I cannot believe that I have not learned to devein shrimp in the manner you taught us today. Wow, that’s so much quicker & easier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I m so looking forward to making your scampi. 💜💜💜
@@flowercook3915, precisely! I think that’s one reason some people do not devein. It is time consuming. Alison did it in a blink of an eye! I am amazed how she just pulled it out. Where did you learn this technique, Alison?
Can you please make a savory tart / galette next ? I feel like your take on that would be amazing (aka filled with anchovies like a pissaladière type of tart) thank you ❤️
@@alisoneroman just wanted to say how incredible your poached fish with chili oil was. I felt like I cooked and ate like in a very fancy gastronomic restaurant (and I ate at Robuchon and Ducasse so it is not only a fantasy). I am French but used to live in NYC for 10 years. I just wanted to say how amazed I was by the different layers of flavors and wanted to say thank you... it was incredible ! I bought your two books after that !
I just literally cam home from Trader Joe's 30 mins ago and planned to make to make shrimp scampi for dinner and your video showed up on my TH-cam feed. Amazing! The other thing that's amazing is how you cook in your tiny kitchen and amke it look easy.
I don't know if I have a major girl crush on Alison or if I just want to have a friend like her. Maybe both. If you ever decide to visit Barcelona, have a girl crush and get a new friend, I'm here ;)
Alison. I have never commented on anything. But, I gotta say, I love you. I love your books. I love your writing. I’ve had a blast cooking your recipes. You are a treasure. Thank you!
I live for tuesdays now. The editing on these vids is so good. And can we please talk about the chemistry between the production crew and Alison? Gold. GOLD I SAY
I, too, came across Alison by accident and have to say how she has grown on me. I’m home recovering from shoulder surgery and finding myself binge watching her videos. Alison, if you happen to read this...you’re the $hit!! I absolutely love your passion and approach to cooking. You made me realize that food or a good meal doesn’t have to be rushed or tortured and it’s more of an experience. Basically what I’m trying to say is I love the passion you show in the creative process of cooking. I think you’re a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. I will be purchasing your cook book and can’t wait to get it!!! You inspire me to get back to cooking once my darn shoulder heals up!! Xoxo 😘
I look forward to Tuesdays to see which recipe you choose to highlight. I am off every Wednesday and have been cooking your recipies every Wed for a few weeks now. Thank you!! You are saving my Wednesdays!
Lovely fun vlog. Thank you Alison it was a very summery dish can you do.some more please just wish the summery weather we have had in the UK returns soon. Thank you
I am making it right now, loved it, i am totally devoted to these movies, her food is superb, her humour and charisma the cherry on the top! Love it, thank you!!!
Wow another winner from our favorite Valley Girl! The Scampi with the touch of fish sauce pure genius!!! If you follow the recipe it's the Scampi you always want but never get.
Oh, this looks epic ! A very well-done video !You mentioned Not overcooking the shrimp, and I so agree ! My Florida life included a lot of seafood, catching it and even getting scallops. For simple boiled shrimp supper my Mom would put the shrimp, shell on, into a pot, NO water added, and cover/cook till shrimp was coral/pink. Then ready ! They boiled in their own juices, at a lower temp than high, and she did stir to get all the shrimp done. So good, simple. I love what you cooked and will follow your tutorial. Shrimp Scampi was a little too fancy to make in my house, but as an adult I would try and make some and also order in restaurants. I need a good recipe, and I've found it. Thank You !!
Love your energy & recipe, chive is a great call, going to make this tmr. Tip for anyone who wants a thicker sauce, add cold butter at the end. It makes it less of a coating and more of a sauce. I usually split the butter up, and reserve half or 1 quarter to add at the end.
I find myself cooking dinner (it's 5pm GMTish) whilst watching these every Tuesday; I'm nearly always cooking an Alison Roman recipe (tonight it's tomato poached cod with chilli oil). Like cooking with a girl friend 🥺💓
I just made this dish tonight using your recipe and it was stellar! I can't believe I ever bothered to order Scampi in a restaurant when it could be done so well in my own kitchen. Thanks for writing such clear instructions that made cooking this so much more approachable and resulting in such a great meal! (& CONGRATS ON THE CNN+ SERIESI!)
You can also skewer the shrimp horizontally with a toothpick along its back (perpendicular to the shrimp) and lift up, which will release the vein, and you can pull it out super easily. Saw it done in Japan and it was a game changer for me.
This was fabulous. Even the 6yo gave it a go! He nibbled the shrimp (journey: 'I love it!' --> 'I like it' --> '...' --> 'I don't like it'... this happens a lot) but LOVED the sauce & mopped it up with crusty bread. We made it with tagliatelle (his idea). This is a win!!! Definitely making it again!
Even if I don't make the dish, I love watching your videos so much. They are so natural, fun and educational at the same time. Wish I have the crew like that and not struggle by myself to do my videos
I just put this video in my notebook so I can watch it later on my 50" SONY... No, it doesn't make the recipe better but it sure makes Alison look GREAT..!
Such a fan of Tuesdays thanks to these videos! Love being freed from spaghetti or linguini; wonder if you’ve ever tried the version where you cook the shrimp shells in the wine first. I found that to create such an incredible depth of flavor.
I LOVE all of her recipes.... seriously, they're all delicious! (But, still trying to figure out why any person would put a thumbs down on this video?? 🤔)
I love that you used Fish sauce. I am making shrimp scampi today, and I was looking at my new bottle of Red Boat and wondering if I could use it. Google to the rescue , and Bada Bing I just found another cooking channel to watch. You were so fun to watch.
I've been waiting weeks to learn about that small cabinet. I'll have to assume it holds a broom now. The shrimp look awesome. I think I'll have to make it this weekend.
Just made this for dinner tonight! Omg definitely the best shrimp scampi I’ve had. I used half the amount of garlic and butter. I also used broth with a little vinegar instead of white wine. Sooo delicious with the shells ❤️
I made these for dinner last night. They were delicious! I don’t care for pasta with my shrimp, so I used some nice crusty bread that I had made. I’ll definitely be making again.
Alison, if you ever want to come to the NE Florida area you are welcome to come hang with us!!! You can see shrimp boats with their lights twinkling in the Atlantic at night from the front porch. We also get River shrimp from the Intracoastal. They are really sweet, but not usually as big as ocean shrimp. Enjoy you and your recipes immensely. P.S.- my daughter can teach you how to throw a cast net to catch live shrimp. Yum
