I have had my bags lost both internationally and domestically at LEAST a dozen times, no joke, probably more. At this point I actually expect it and am just happy when things go right. That said, #1 I recommend air tags so at least you can see where the bags are, and #2, I ALWAYS pack my carry-on bags with all of my essentials (yes, this includes my makeup!), at least a couple clothing changes, shoes, swimsuit, medicines, etc. Whatever would be difficult or impossible to replace where I'm going is what goes in that carry-on. I'm telling you, this is the way to go. This is clearly my low-key trauma response to being stranded without luggage just too many times. One time a few years ago, an older gentleman with my same (bright blue!) luggage just took my bags home with him in Atlanta instead of his. He didn't even notice for a couple days, but luckily was very nice and took them all the way back to the airport for me...ahhh, the luggage stories I could tell! On the positive side, I've always gotten it back. :)
Yes, Lufthansa lost my bag on a return trip from India and a tracker saved my sanity! Hopefully Angie kept receipts of what he had to purchase as airline should offer some sort of compensation for items purchased due to lost luggage....

I once had luggage travel to another country(that I absolutely would have loved to go to) and I didn't get mine back until I had been home four months. It happens.
That particular incident happened during Autumn, and I traveled then because of it being slow in the tourist season(I used to work in the hospitality industry myself, so I took holidays when it was slow and not so expensive).
The trick when you’re traveling is put half your clothes in his luggage and he puts half his clothes in your luggage just in case one of your luggage gets Lost, which happened in your case that’s my biggest fear!
Yup, I have not had my luggage lost recently (our luggage from Iran got lost in London on our way back home to Dallas in 2022.... it showed up a few days later) BUT starting last year we added Tiles to our luggage!!
Amsterdam accommodation is SO expensive! Fully agree, we went in 2017 and it was ridiculous, the only place where prices were similar was in London. We were wondering if prices were so high to deter the unruly tourists who go there to do things they can't do in their own country. We came across so many people peeing in the streets and just trashing things- but they were all tourists, and it was on a weekend so in retrospect it makes sense but yeah, we should have gone elsewhere in the area rather than just the central district. The canal boat at nighttime and Van Gogh exhibit were amazing though
Losing luggage seems to be more common now. I am not sure why it is happening, but so many people have told me it has happened to them,that now they don’t check luggage. I am no longer traveling - it is too expensive and I don’t need the stress. I have travelled a lot and am not sad. Glad you got your luggage back!
It’s probably from airlines trying to run with less employees. Like every other greedy business owners lately, trying to operate with bare bone staffing. Or, it could be from deregulations being implemented lately. Probably a little bit of both I’m sure

Belgium was the first European country I ever visited (2019) and I fell in love with it. Like you said, Brussels is a wonderful city to walk around in. We did so much walking that I actually lost weight on that vacation despite eating waffles, frites, and chocolate and drinking beer every day! Antwerp and Ghent were amazing cities, and Antwerp is on my short list of places I could live in Europe. I just visited Amsterdam in May and my feelings are the same as yours about the city. I’m glad we saw it, but I don’t feel the need to go back.
My experience exactly. I love Brussels. Amsterdam has too many people living in the central city and way too many tourists from June to September. Beautiful areas outside the city though
As a Dutchie, I hate Amsterdam with a passion hahahah. To busy and filled with rats. Visite city's like Rotterdam, Maastricht or Groningen. Much nicer. Amsterdam gets to much hype from people wanting to visite, but they are always let down by it. I visited Antwerpen a few weeks ago as it is just 2 hours drive from where I live and I have family living in Belgium. I love it. The old buildings and the cafe's 😍. Also, Belgium is a very cheap country to live in, just so you know 😁

I just did a Baltic cruise out of Stockholm. Stockholm was really lovely. I visited Grönalund-which is currently closed, they had an accident this weekend. I walked the whole city and it was very clean. I got to visit so many interesting places-Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden. I also do not love Amsterdam. It was dirty and the smell of Mary Jane just everywhere. There are so many beautiful cities in Europe to visit that I won’t be back unless I need to use it as a jumping off point to somewhere else.
Regarding to the blushes, actually we differentiate them in 3 categories. Expansion, contraction, main. Expansion shades are very light beige, white, light pink..etc it’s use under the eye area and in the sides of the nose and chin, think about it a matt highlight. Main is the normal blush, and expansion is a shade darker than normal blush which is place below and near the ear area. This way, you use the blushes to contour a multidimensional face. I hope this make sense
those earrings are GORGEOUS!!! your trip sounds absolutely incredible, other than having your luggage lost, and i know how stressful that is. i had my luggage lost, and i had allllll my medication, favorite clothes, makeup, and jewelry and the customer service woman working for delta was soooo nasty to me, and i was bawling my eyes out. it took them a MONTH to get it back, and it had been completely destroyed and ransacked!!! i truly learned a lesson with that trip. i would LOVE to go to belgium, sweden, paris, amsterdam, and ESPECIALLY athens!!! that’s been on my bucket list for ages, but i don’t see myself leaving the country anytime in the future. btw, that saie cream blush is STUNNING on you. the new colourpop cream sticks look really great as well. i honestly reallllly want the cosmos palette, but i’ve heard everyone say that theirs arrived shattered. you’re ALWAYS a vixen, angie!!! 💜💜💜
Glad your luggage arrived and crossing my fingers for Ricardo. I'm very happy with my Cosmos pallet. The temperature was 108F (42C) while driving for work today. South Austin is always hotter than North Austin. We have too much trash on our roads in Austin, but when you visit San Antonio, it seems to be cleaner.
If you plan on doing a lot of traveling in the future you should get some of those “air tags” to put in your suitcases that you can track your bags from an app on your phone, wherever you are. 😊 Those seem like really good things to have. I don’t think they’re even very expensive either
If you ever decide to go back to Belgium, I would definitely recommend visiting Ghent, Brussels isn't the best representation of Belgium (most Belgians hate the city), Namur is also stunning and quaint. So definitely come back if you get the chance 😄
You're the only person I've heard who prefers Belgium than Amsterdam/NL. And I couldn't agree more with you, Belgium is SO underrated and such a beautiful place with nice food (hope you tried the Belgian fries!) while Amsterdam is the exact opposite, I just can't get the rave about it. Maybe other places in the NL are nicer.
Amsterdam is probably my least favourite City in NL. Overhyped, overpopulated and over priced! The Hague is soo much better - and it has a beach too!!!

That has to be so frustrating with the bags. I totally get where you’re coming from with the whole honesty in communication thing. This might seem odd to say, as it doesn’t quite relate to your situation… But I used to be a waitress/server back when I was 18… Many moons ago…and there were at times occasions where I forgot to put in an order because I was so busy or something happened where somebody’s order didn’t get completed or something was missing…and rather than me blame the cooks in the back for those things happening… I took full responsibility for the mistakes that I made. It didn’t happen often… But when it did… I felt that the most mature thing for me to do was to let the customer know that it was my fault and nobody else’s and people actually appreciated that more Than me blaming a cook for why something wasn’t done. I say that because I went out to a bar a couple weeks ago with some coworkers. Mind you I don’t go to bars a whole lot… Not that that even matters… But I had ordered some food and so had a couple of my coworkers and it was over an hour before the bartender came back to our table and asked if we wanted something else…yet hadnt brought our food out. One of my coworkers mentioned that we were curious about the status of our food and you could clearly tell that the bartender had forgotten to even put our stuff in…but yet started to come up with some cockamamie story about how the printer in the back with the cooks has been messing up and how they probably didn’t get it and that she was so sorry, etc…blaming everyone else but truly…herself. All the while we could tell that she had completely forgotten about our food altogether and was just blowing smoke up our asses and coming up with some crappy story to make herself look better. I would have honestly appreciated it more if she had said… “Oh, my God… I totally spaced it and forgot. I am so sorry. Would you still like your food”?…And then just continue to apologize profusely. I would’ve appreciated that more because it’s honest. The fact that she completely tried to fake a bs story just pissed me off even more and made me not want my food even more. Moral of the story: BE HONEST HAVE INTEGRITY DONT THROW PEOPLE WHO ARENT RESPONSIBLE, UNDER THE BUS TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY And the main takeaway from this is… People respect more than anything….HONESTY!!! Even if it’s not the right answer or what they want to hear. It’s something people respect more than some let’s blow smoke up your ass answer that isn’t going to in the end satisfy the issue that’s going on.

I started always making sure i have at least one change of clothes and toiletries in a carry on once i had my first bag lost. The best was when they lost our car seat for our 1 year old. They actually have a room full of mismatched car seats/bases where we had to go and find something that would fit together just so we could leave the airport.
OMG Greyhound lost my kiddos very expensive convertible carseat (and my valuables stolen from my bag), and the driver threatened to leave us stranded at two AM when I complained about it. TXDoT got my complaint when Greyhound blew me off, and while I had to buy another carseat out-of-pocket, the driver is no longer allowed to have a CDL, and could no longer drive for Greyhound...or anywhere that requires a CDL.

It’s so wonderful that they found your bag. This is my worst nightmare traveling. I haven’t checked a bag since they started charging for it many many moons ago. I even travel to Europe with a carry on 😬. I would have been crying too. I cried so much when my phone was stolen and I lost all my photos (it was before i had the cloud).

That is horrible about that woman at American Airlines customer service, who was so rude to you! When someone treats me like that I immediately ask them WHY they are being so rude to me. I do. I put them right on the spot and ask “is there some reason you feel the need to be rude to me? Do you know me? Did I do something to you? If you don’t like your job working in the PUBLIC, you need to change professions.” I said this once to a bank teller right through the drive through window for everyone to hear me. I don’t tolerate that abuse from people working in the public. 😊. But I’m so glad you got your bag back! I can’t wait to see some pics of your trip! So happy you got yout luggage back! This is why i never check in my bags, I have zero faith in the airlines not to lose them. I try to pack as efficiently as possible so I can fit everything I need in my carry-on and backpack. I'll be traveling to Ecuador from Finland in the spring for at least a two-week vacation to visit family, and I'll probably have to switch planes twice. I'm definitely not checking in any luggage, they'll 100% lose it. It'll be a challenge to fit everything I need in a carry-on with room for souvenirs 😂

I keep hearing about people losing their luggage A LOT in the last year or so. This makes me so nervous to travel, because I have some medical devices that I can't carry on, not to mention all the personal things I like to take when I fly to another country. So glad your bag was found!
Why can they not go on the plane, size? If it's oversized, at least on American, if you buy another seat you can have your oversized medical equipment on with you. My sister once had to fly with her Violin and a cryocuff canister for her knee, and her Violin and cryocuff canister had their own seat.

I think I depends when you’re going to Europe as well. It hard to get a good hotel at a decent price when the weathers nice. I always go in winter. Loved Amsterdam but again I got a room at the American Hotel which was great, took the train to the grand place, and spent all my time in museums so didn’t really mind the weather.

Haha, I was in Brussel first time this year for my east vacation and was considering going to Amsterdam before I saw the prices for hotels. Nope. I took three nigts in amazing southern area of France (where you can get with ryanair) instead of paying same ammount for one night in an Amsterdam hostel. I didn't regret this change at all but it was itching me a bit that i didn't get to see Holland during the tulpan festival. But mybe i didn't miss much since i'm also a spontanious traveller and hate trash! I somehow expected it to be Germany level of cleanliness.. Amount of trash on the streets is actually very important for me and one of the reasons i like to live in Scandianvia so much)) Hope Ricardo's luggage will find its way back to him! Im glad you got your bag back. When I went to Amsterdam I actually used AirTags and added them to my luggage so if they ended up missing I can locate myself where my bag was. I can totally understand what you meant about Amsterdam I loved the old buildings but it definitely was expensive in places for no reason. I actually liked Rotterdam better and when I went to Brussels it seemed like the whole city was under construction.

Angie, I get the frustration upon loosing a bag! I've moved across the ocean earlier in March this year and the airlines lost all three of bags! I arrived to a new country almost at midnight empty handed! I thought all my new clothes, all skincare and almost whole collection of make up and perfume were lost! Good thing is that they have found and returned my bags ...12 days after the flight. Still I have requested the compensation and baggage fee refund)))

Hun next time come to Rotterdam, more urban and a lot less expensive and busy than Amsterdam. Very close to Delft and Gouda, wich are so pretty to visit if you want to old Dutch feel. Rotterdam is also stunning! But in it’s own merit, way more urban and down to earth

As a Dutchie, I hate Amsterdam with a passion hahahah. To busy and filled with rats. Visite city's like Rotterdam, Maastricht or Groningen. Much nicer.
Amsterdam gets to much hype from people wanting to visite, but they are always let down by it. I visited Antwerpen a few weeks ago as it is just 2 hours drive from where I live and I have family living in Belgium. I love it. The old buildings and the cafe's 😍. Also, Belgium is a very cheap country to live in, just so you know 😁

I just did a Baltic cruise out of Stockholm. Stockholm was really lovely. I visited Grönalund-which is currently closed, they had an accident this weekend. I walked the whole city and it was very clean. I got to visit so many interesting places-Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
I also do not love Amsterdam. It was dirty and the smell of Mary Jane just everywhere. There are so many beautiful cities in Europe to visit that I won’t be back unless I need to use it as a jumping off point to somewhere else.
Regarding to the blushes, actually we differentiate them in 3 categories. Expansion, contraction, main. Expansion shades are very light beige, white, light pink..etc it’s use under the eye area and in the sides of the nose and chin, think about it a matt highlight. Main is the normal blush, and expansion is a shade darker than normal blush which is place below and near the ear area. This way, you use the blushes to contour a multidimensional face. I hope this make sense

those earrings are GORGEOUS!!! your trip sounds absolutely incredible, other than having your luggage lost, and i know how stressful that is. i had my luggage lost, and i had allllll my medication, favorite clothes, makeup, and jewelry and the customer service woman working for delta was soooo nasty to me, and i was bawling my eyes out. it took them a MONTH to get it back, and it had been completely destroyed and ransacked!!! i truly learned a lesson with that trip. i would LOVE to go to belgium, sweden, paris, amsterdam, and ESPECIALLY athens!!! that’s been on my bucket list for ages, but i don’t see myself leaving the country anytime in the future. btw, that saie cream blush is STUNNING on you. the new colourpop cream sticks look really great as well. i honestly reallllly want the cosmos palette, but i’ve heard everyone say that theirs arrived shattered. you’re ALWAYS a vixen, angie!!! 💜💜💜

Glad your luggage arrived and crossing my fingers for Ricardo. I'm very happy with my Cosmos pallet. The temperature was 108F (42C) while driving for work today. South Austin is always hotter than North Austin. We have too much trash on our roads in Austin, but when you visit San Antonio, it seems to be cleaner.

If you plan on doing a lot of traveling in the future you should get some of those “air tags” to put in your suitcases that you can track your bags from an app on your phone, wherever you are. 😊 Those seem like really good things to have. I don’t think they’re even very expensive either
If you ever decide to go back to Belgium, I would definitely recommend visiting Ghent, Brussels isn't the best representation of Belgium (most Belgians hate the city), Namur is also stunning and quaint. So definitely come back if you get the chance 😄

You're the only person I've heard who prefers Belgium than Amsterdam/NL. And I couldn't agree more with you, Belgium is SO underrated and such a beautiful place with nice food (hope you tried the Belgian fries!) while Amsterdam is the exact opposite, I just can't get the rave about it. Maybe other places in the NL are nicer.
Amsterdam is probably my least favourite City in NL. Overhyped, overpopulated and over priced! The Hague is soo much better - and it has a beach too!!!
@@Mama-de-Tia Maastricht in the south is my favorite city. Beautiful, no trash, people are more polite (and dress more properly). I do like The Hague although in general the inhabitants are not my favorite, same for Amsterdam, although I live there.

That has to be so frustrating with the bags. I totally get where you’re coming from with the whole honesty in communication thing. This might seem odd to say, as it doesn’t quite relate to your situation… But I used to be a waitress/server back when I was 18… Many moons ago…and there were at times occasions where I forgot to put in an order because I was so busy or something happened where somebody’s order didn’t get completed or something was missing…and rather than me blame the cooks in the back for those things happening… I took full responsibility for the mistakes that I made. It didn’t happen often… But when it did… I felt that the most mature thing for me to do was to let the customer know that it was my fault and nobody else’s and people actually appreciated that more Than me blaming a cook for why something wasn’t done. I say that because I went out to a bar a couple weeks ago with some coworkers.
Mind you I don’t go to bars a whole lot… Not that that even matters… But I had ordered some food and so had a couple of my coworkers and it was over an hour before the bartender came back to our table and asked if we wanted something else…yet hadnt brought our food out.
One of my coworkers mentioned that we were curious about the status of our food and you could clearly tell that the bartender had forgotten to even put our stuff in…but yet started to come up with some cockamamie story about how the printer in the back with the cooks has been messing up and how they probably didn’t get it and that she was so sorry, etc…blaming everyone else but truly…herself.
All the while we could tell that she had completely forgotten about our food altogether and was just blowing smoke up our asses and coming up with some crappy story to make herself look better. I would have honestly appreciated it more if she had said… “Oh, my God… I totally spaced it and forgot. I am so sorry. Would you still like your food”?…And then just continue to apologize profusely. I would’ve appreciated that more because it’s honest. The fact that she completely tried to fake a bs story just pissed me off even more and made me not want my food even more.
Moral of the story:
BE HONEST
HAVE INTEGRITY
DONT THROW PEOPLE WHO ARENT RESPONSIBLE, UNDER THE BUS
TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY
And the main takeaway from this is…
People respect more than anything….HONESTY!!! Even if it’s not the right answer or what they want to hear. It’s something people respect more than some let’s blow smoke up your ass answer that isn’t going to in the end satisfy the issue that’s going on.

I started always making sure i have at least one change of clothes and toiletries in a carry on once i had my first bag lost. The best was when they lost our car seat for our 1 year old. They actually have a room full of mismatched car seats/bases where we had to go and find something that would fit together just so we could leave the airport.
OMG Greyhound lost my kiddos very expensive convertible carseat (and my valuables stolen from my bag), and the driver threatened to leave us stranded at two AM when I complained about it.
TXDoT got my complaint when Greyhound blew me off, and while I had to buy another carseat out-of-pocket, the driver is no longer allowed to have a CDL, and could no longer drive for Greyhound...or anywhere that requires a CDL.

It’s so wonderful that they found your bag. This is my worst nightmare traveling. I haven’t checked a bag since they started charging for it many many moons ago. I even travel to Europe with a carry on 😬. I would have been crying too. I cried so much when my phone was stolen and I lost all my photos (it was before i had the cloud).

That is horrible about that woman at American Airlines customer service, who was so rude to you! When someone treats me like that I immediately ask them WHY they are being so rude to me. I do. I put them right on the spot and ask “is there some reason you feel the need to be rude to me? Do you know me? Did I do something to you? If you don’t like your job working in the PUBLIC, you need to change professions.” I said this once to a bank teller right through the drive through window for everyone to hear me. I don’t tolerate that abuse from people working in the public. 😊. But I’m so glad you got your bag back! I can’t wait to see some pics of your trip! So happy you got yout luggage back! This is why i never check in my bags, I have zero faith in the airlines not to lose them. I try to pack as efficiently as possible so I can fit everything I need in my carry-on and backpack. I'll be traveling to Ecuador from Finland in the spring for at least a two-week vacation to visit family, and I'll probably have to switch planes twice. I'm definitely not checking in any luggage, they'll 100% lose it. It'll be a challenge to fit everything I need in a carry-on with room for souvenirs 😂

I keep hearing about people losing their luggage A LOT in the last year or so. This makes me so nervous to travel, because I have some medical devices that I can't carry on, not to mention all the personal things I like to take when I fly to another country. So glad your bag was found!
Why can they not go on the plane, size? If it's oversized, at least on American, if you buy another seat you can have your oversized medical equipment on with you.
My sister once had to fly with her Violin and a cryocuff canister for her knee, and her Violin and cryocuff canister had their own seat.

Amsterdam is just too crowded, it 's a shame, feel every year it gets worse. they are trying to regulate overtourism as its a lot of party tourists, who probably leave a lot of trash, I dont think its the residents.
I live in Germany right at the belgian and dutch border, so its just basically 10 minutes for me to go abroad :), even if its close, it has a different vibe, it's like a little vacation, different shops and food, it's great! 😃

I think I depends when you’re going to Europe as well. It hard to get a good hotel at a decent price when the weathers nice. I always go in winter. Loved Amsterdam but again I got a room at the American Hotel which was great, took the train to the grand place, and spent all my time in museums so didn’t really mind the weather.

Haha, I was in Brussel first time this year for my east vacation and was considering going to Amsterdam before I saw the prices for hotels. Nope. I took three nigts in amazing southern area of France (where you can get with ryanair) instead of paying same ammount for one night in an Amsterdam hostel. I didn't regret this change at all but it was itching me a bit that i didn't get to see Holland during the tulpan festival. But mybe i didn't miss much since i'm also a spontanious traveller and hate trash! I somehow expected it to be Germany level of cleanliness.. Amount of trash on the streets is actually very important for me and one of the reasons i like to live in Scandianvia so much))

Im glad you got your bag back. When I went to Amsterdam I actually used AirTags and added them to my luggage so if they ended up missing I can locate myself where my bag was. I can totally understand what you meant about Amsterdam I loved the old buildings but it definitely was expensive in places for no reason. I actually liked Rotterdam better and when I went to Brussels it seemed like the whole city was under construction.

Clicked on this video fast once I saw the ABH pallet! It has become my favorite color story from ABH! Their customer service is Bomb!! My pallet came damaged and they replaced it asap! My husband and I did European honeymoon 4 years ago and the most expensive place we stayed was Geneva, Switzerland, and everything there was so expensive not just the hotels. Also invest in AirTags for your luggage you can also track them

Angie, I get the frustration upon loosing a bag! I've moved across the ocean earlier in March this year and the airlines lost all three of bags! I arrived to a new country almost at midnight empty handed! I thought all my new clothes, all skincare and almost whole collection of make up and perfume were lost! Good thing is that they have found and returned my bags ...12 days after the flight. Still I have requested the compensation and baggage fee refund)))

Hun next time come to Rotterdam, more urban and a lot less expensive and busy than Amsterdam. Very close to Delft and Gouda, wich are so pretty to visit if you want to old Dutch feel. Rotterdam is also stunning! But in it’s own merit, way more urban and down to earth
