That’s incredible that you were able to put fifty percent down payment! 😮 I don’t think you should feel some type of way for living in Texas. By the sounds of it, Austin seems lovely. Plus you have your business there now and your little family of pets too. And Ricardo being in Neuroscience which again, just incredible especially being in the addiction field, it’s very admirable. He’s doing important work for the world. I’m very happy for you Angie. 😊

When I'd started watching you YEARS ago Angie, you were in Sweden and I was in Denmark 😊 (way early when there were no aesthetic lighting or backgrounds in your videos) and I used to think what a great find (your channel)! She is the only no bs talented reviewer I can believe, hope she blows up big!! Many transitional years later you're now in the US and I'm in Canada... and I'm SO elated for you and for the fact we're still neighbors haha! Wish you all the best of life ❤😊

I bought a house when I was doing my doctorate degree because I knew I was going to be there for a while, and it was a better investment than renting. Plus the interest rates back then were so low that my mortgage was much less than renting as well. When I sold that house, to move here, we used that as our down payment, and it worked out great! I didn’t pick this area…it is just where the main physics labs are located!

I'm greek and I also hope I get to make enough money to end up living in peace in a Greek island far away from urbanization and close to beautiful beaches almost all year with sunny days 8 months per year. It's truly as if you're high without needing any substance to feel high. Things work at a slow pace and people are more communal. I'm also a med student and unfortunately the state doesn't have hospitals in all islands so someone having the bare necessities and not overcharging for profit is needed in these islands and when you offer important services the people truly appreciate and take care of you as well (like feeding you gorgeous greek food for appreciation for taking care of their loved ones). I hope you can achieve your dreams!!! Much love from this economically destroyed but beautiful country ❤

Definitely yes on the wallpaper. There are brands out there like Tempaper and Rifle Paper Co that are basically like a giant sticker that are very easy to put up and can be removed. I feel like it's a fun way to get a lot of impact without it being a major commitment.

25:09 after my husband and I bought our first home we finally told both our parents period we wanted it to be a surprise. No one was the wiser. We kinda went quiet if you will for about a month and a half while we were in process of purchasing our first home. So I totally understand wanting to keep your sanctuary private. You don’t have to feel like you need to share what you want to keep for yourself. We understand.😊

I totally agree with you that you should keep some things just for yourself. Moving is busy enough as it is, don't add the pressure of vlogging it all. I think your first house is a very exciting thing. 🙂 Once you've settled in, I would love to then maybe see a couple vlogs of you decorating the new filming room. 🙂

I painted most of my house, and I have repainted years later. Partly it was because we didn't have much money to take of certain things when it was first purchased. It is messy to work around your stuff, but I also have taken my time figuring out how to do certain changes to save on money. I do agree with the issue of cost of rent vs cost of mortgage. Depends on your circumstance and luck, it is somewhat cheaper to buy sometimes. But right now, with the house prices ballooning even in homes that need essential repairs, when you run total numbers this is not always true.
I was eyeing Natasha Denona Retro Glam palette, but for some reason it wasn't resonating with me. I ended buying Ensley Reign Cold Moon instead and I'm very happy with it.

I’m an interior decorator (& cosmetologist) - I would suggest using a stencil instead of the wallpaper. Easier to put up wallpaper than take it down. A stencil can simply be primed and painted over. They are fairly easy to do using painters tape to hold down and paint. You can find many small or very large designs . The larger the faster and easier.

Agree! The thought of moving furniture to "fix" stuff fills me with rage lol. I never thought I'd live in my first home this long, but at the 10 year mark I was fed up and painted the whole place. We rent 2 units and live in 1 (at the time) so between tenants I painted the downstairs unit in 1 or 2 weeks. First time in my life painting a house and I did it all on my own. Then we had new curtains and blinds put in. We've changed the showers, glass screens, even the toilets because the builder was a cheap arse and put all cheap stuff in because "it's a rental" and I don't agree with that sentiment at all! So mad! That builder went bankrupt from all his clients sueing him. ANYWAY! then I painted the studio when the other tenants left and we finally took over that area as our gaming centre and all my makeup is in that bathroom. And then the hard part of moving a bunk bed and painting my kids room, moving my king size bed and painting our room. I was doing like 10 hour painting sprees and then working night shifts in age care as a nurse at the time lol. Definitely rather do all that shit in an empty house

Outsourcing what you can is a GREAT idea! We wanted to have our flooring redone before we moved in to our home, but we moved in 2020 and wood flooring contractors kept bailing on us and we had 2 appointments that didn't show up. So we had to move in and are still waiting to have them done because life is so busy now. It's going to be a LOT to turn our home upside down. But I'll also can't have the upstairs painted until the floors are done because I don't want to paint them twice. I totally get it!

I live in the UK and rent, but the buying process in England specifically is extremely laborious and difficult, with sellers being allowed to pull out literally right up until exchange. I am catching up on your videos ( we had a baby and there’s so much to do). We have such similar circumstances, it’s interesting.
We moved from Germany to the USA after my husband did his Doctors degree in Germany, Berlin. Then he found a position in Berlin but eventually they send him to the main research lab in the states. We basically had to buy a house because in our area, rent is very expensive and not a lot of rentals are available. We were able to buy cash, as we had saved up for quite some time. We are in a very small town though and we want to move to a bigger area. But for my husband there are certain places that have the good jobs for his scientific field. Seattle of California and Austin , Texas. In Germany not a lot of companies specialize in his field of science and salaries are much, much lower.
If we could just be living anywhere, we’d go back to San Isidro, Guatemala, where we lived before Berlin. But there’s almost no research in my husbands field. Maybe someday.
    Good luck on everything.

Temporary wall paper is cute, I think that would look really good. However I have never had to put it up/take it down. I’ve heard some people say it’s easy, some say it’s hard, sounds like maybe the kind/brand you get is what makes it easier/harder to deal with.

Congratulations on getting a house and making it your own.
I have done temporary wall paper but have heard to be careful with the ones you purchase. Some temporary wallpapers have very heavy glues with high VOCs.
I have some wall paper removal and installation experience. Took about a month to remove the wallpaper from a half wall (10 ft long * 3 ft high). Took about a week to finish installation. Hugh recommend hiring someone because of the precision you need to make the wall paper is even and pattern matches up well.

Congratulations on a very successful year. The house, the launch and the channel are all good things. Owning may be the same as rent now but I’m sure you’ll come out ahead soon. I’m not sure whether ownership changes your tax structure asa a foreign national but it does change your status at the bank. You are smart to keep your house market ready. There is nothing temporary about wall paper. If you want a feature wall, pick carefully and spend the money.
This looks lovely on you. It brings out your inner Nordic Goddess.

I agree, it's ok to keep some things private 💐 Have you considered maybe an interior designer, someone local?

I love your videos and I'm so happy for you & Riccardo! :)
This palette's color story is stunning! And you always do the best swatches.
By the way, your hair is so beautiful and it always is! I think a lot of us would be curious to know what tools you use to style it!

How does the Ensley Reign Cold Moon Palette compare to the Natasha Denona formula, since you've said that the ND formula is one of the best out there? Would you say it's in the same category, better or worse? I really love this cold moon color story, but I am wondering if it's worth the price or would I be better off with an ND palette?

Angie, I think Linda (Glitter Fallout) used temporary wallpaper for her filming room. Maybe see if she has any tips.
