Hi! I do appreciate the video, however I'm a little stuck. Upon entering my NIF to register on the site, I was told the NIF was already in use...which is clearly not true, as I've never done anything but look at that site, and have never registered, nor even known exactly how to do so. Have you seen this happen before, and what can I do? Using the "forgot password" function indicates a *letter* will be mailed out containing the new information...but I'm in the US until August when we'll relocate, and I don't think that's a good idea. Going to watch a few of your other videos and see if I can find anything. Thank you!

Regarding the NIF issues, its indeed strange I've never hear of this scenario. Is there a possibility to talk with whom helped you get the NIF? to check with them if they've heard anything like this? as you might run in to this NIF issue with other Portuguese government websites.

@@RanjitKumar-pi7os August in Portugal is a really slow month with lots of people taking vacation. You can try giving them a call and see if they can give you an update on the status of the application

I am asking because it looks like parent e-mail needed, not children. 2) It looks like it is not possible to register there before moving to the target pace physically. At least because of the residence document. Children's NIF (if really required) can be obteinted remotely.
Yes they do need the NIF (parent and kid) and prove of residence. Email its the parents. On 2) I guess only if you manage to rent remotely and can obtain a "domicilio fiscal" from financas website.
Do you need to show Livro de Família at any point of the registration process? we are a family from Spain and wondering if we might have to get it translated? thank you

I would expect visiting the office physically and talking with the director of the school district should have addressed your questions. I know it can be bothersome experience but I would insist again with the school district, to get some answers and clarify on how to get your kids enrolled.
Is there any public schools that teach in English? Not teach english but teach all classes in english. Moving from US and keeping options open in case we cant get into a private school. Thanks!
Hi Anthony, to my awareness, public schools don’t teach in English exception are the university level they have some course only in English, it depend on the universities.

Uhmmm, I think the public creche only start at 3 years old and only in some places. Check creche “Santa casa” usually good and affordable and they charge depending on your income.

In Portugal there isn’t the concept of libro de familia. You only need their identification and NIF.

Hi Pedro, it depends on the area that you are living, some schools have starting at 3 and others at 5.

Hi Pedro, normally the results will be attached at the school. You can always contact the school district to confirm the timelines for the results
