      Good Morning (7:22 Burma) Alex.
Is this situation the lawyer appearing "early" "when he had the time" to inform the court that Mr. DeCastro is in custody, and that the lawyer was not going to be representing Mr. DeCastro?
Is it possible that the lawyer did this "early", so that Mr. DeCastro wouldn't have to be transported from Clark County Detention Center?

No. It means "I don't have a dog in this fight (stake in the case). I'm just here as a courtesy to let you know something because you were expecting me."
It is odd for this to come up in criminal matters. This lawyer represents/represented Chili in a different case. As a courtesy to his client and the court, he came in to say "He is in jail and wants a continuance. I'm not on this case. I'm just passing the message so you won't think he skipped town."
Usually, lawyers make special appearances in Civil matters to tell the court that the court lacks jurisdiction. "Your honor, this is supposed to be in the finance division, according to Rule X."
Sov cits misuse this to claim that they aren't the "all caps" "strawman" named in the charging document.

      Right?!?!
I wish more judges could run their courtrooms like this. Do yourself a favor, keep the mass media out if you'd like.. just take it over yourself but for the sake of all that's decent.. at least be transparent.
I do agree though, their set up and multiple POVs throughout a hearing & I'm sure even in trial, that's all quite impressive to see... given the current way things are ran in most courtrooms.

The Judges don't run the channel. This is an independent media educational channel that covers court cases in Nevada.
It is not a "personal meeting room" "to provide public access" that many courts have been using since Covid.
This channel is what frauditor channels claim to be.
Alex Falconi runs the organization. He is what Chili pretends to be. The controlling decision for camera access in Nevada courts in the _Falconi_ decision.
Alex never insults anyone, misrepresents current case law or statues, or stages confrontations.
He provides neutral coverage, and has a day job.

ONJ can thank me as I informed the people about the channel showcasing the delete lawz coverage and OnJ can more than that thank Delete Lawz for exercising his rights around area for ONJ to even get to cover this story and it is because of Chille that this channel is getting the spike in subscribers and content views. I thank ONJ channel for staying honest and I have seen where people were begging the channel to put the picture of Chille in court in distress as his channel picture. I can also sense the want of ONJ to comply with that request and the slight bias it not speak the truth as to the fact that chille Delete Lawz stepped back as can be seen on evidence video documents that was seen in the court room and over looked. Why isn't our nevada judges commenting highly about the discrepancy and even lies told by the metro deputy arresting officer while on the stand under questioning.

@@iamskippy It depends on how that jurisdiction handles "prior bad acts" evidence. This varies a lot.
_Law Talk with Mike_ just covered a trial with a sorta sov cit in Atlanta where prior acts evidence came in. The sov cit was pro se, much to the detriment of his co-defendant.
Check it out if you want to see sov cit shenanigans, male models, a California grow op edible connection, 1500$ designer kicks, and a robbery at an air Bnb house party. Warning for graphic violence in photos of crime scene and victim head injuries.
Now, as far as sentencing, I do agree that prior history should be a factor. It usually is. This is why many jurisdictions have pre-sentence investigation reports compiled between conviction and sentencing.

@AgeGo you know damn well that he committed a crime, and that frauditors often intentionally do so for attention. How many times has a frauditor gone into a courthouse, DMV, etc; get warned about being arrested for trespass after warning; and then remain in place until they get arrested? The calculation to accept arrest for the sake of a more "entertaining" video only works if the benefits of doing so (e.g., more money from e-begging) outweigh the negative legal ramifications that go along with it (e.g., fines and jail time).
Unfortunately for society, that calculation is usually in favor of pushing each fraudit as far as possible before getting arrested because frauditor fans apparently adore irl trolls.
Well, this time, Chille's gamble swung in the other direction. He went to a traffic stop and intended to harass the cop until he got arrested. He got what he wanted, and he was betting that he would get bonded out, go before a judge and get some nominal fine, and go on with life. Instead, he finally found a judge who held him accountable for his behavior. This time the risks outweighed the rewards - unfortunately for our dear friend, he didn't know that before he decided to be an ass that day.

He probably will if they look at the video evidence for what he did was way worse than what he was already convicted of. That, coupled with how he has been acting while in custody is all relevant for a stiffer sentence since he has little remorse and has been harassing the sentencing judge, allegedly.
The guy is just a moron.

      It is quite easy.
A warrant isn't a punishment. It is an administrative tool to ensure the defendant appears before the court. The effect would be a hold at the end of his sentence until he can be brought before this judge. As he hadn't committed a new crime (that she knew of) since he posted bond, the judge didn't bother with the warrant. (He is now serving a sentence for crimes committed before this case.)

Recordings of Jurors, side bars, s assault victims, and minors are often restricted.
Media granted access must agree to follow the rules.
