Great film Murray, love Gerry’s advertising🤣 I think I’ll get his book for my dad for Father’s Day! He’d love that. I think I was up there that very weekend, I summit camped up on Ben Cruachan and had the most amazing sunset/sunrise. I got some good pics of the aurora too, just on my iPhone but they look brill. The ridge walk along from Cruachan to Stob Daimh was superb, the conditions were brilliant. Thanks Murray👍🏻 Always enjoy your videos. Cheers, Mark

I hear you on the views in that area. I spent a wee in and around the Arrochar Alps a couple of years back now, the only view I got was when I threaded the needle, Ben Vane wasn't too bad but a big storm came in as I went wandering along it's shoulder. It was Vorlich though that was hilarious, thick clag when I got near the top. I think you're videos of Scotland are so beautiful and makes me really want to do a 100mile hike in Scotland but im sort of bombarded with choices. Do you recommend anywhere? (I'm experienced and want a challenge)🙂
I love Ben Donich and was up it for the first time in summer years ago but took a friend on the 18th of December last year when there was a cloud inversion over the entire west coast and central belt, absolutely stunning! On the descent later in the day, the shadow of Ben Donich over Loch Restil and the Rest and be Thankful looks like Everest with the low sun to the south, not kidding! :D It is a brilliant viewpoint, best saved for a clear day, quick and easy to walk and well worth a short day out in winter, or longer day in summer. A book by a fellow hiker is the only advertising I dont mind. Hope the knee gets better soon, cheers!
Great video Murray. I definitely have ordered Gerrys book being part of my favourite area in Scotland. Really enjoyed watching. Any chance getting it signed 🤔😁. Atb Steve 👍

Diolch yn fawr am fideo gwych eto! Thank you so much for another great video. I love your videos, and find them very inspiring. I do a lot of hiking in my home of the Brecon Beacons (in South Cymru). The mountains are not as big as Scotland, but they are very wild, particularly in the west. You should do some hiking in the remote areas of these mountains one day, I think you would really like it. Sorry about the knee, I really hope it improves soon. Gerry's book looks great! I would definitely get it if I go to the Lomond and Trossachs area. Thanks again for the wonderful videos!👍
Hello Murry, How on earth do you know and remember all these mountains? there are hundreds of them and i feel you know them all by name. Is it a Scottish thing? and who names the mountains and why? I'm fascinated. A lovely video with stunningly beautiful views. I'm from the Midlands (Tamworth) and we have zero mountains. As someone with shockingly bad knees myself i truly feel your pain. Take it easy.
I'm not a hillwalker but I do subscribe to your channel and love the videos you put out. I don't know if this has been mentioned before to you but have you tried kinesiology tape on your knee as that is used in athletes for sports injuries and may provide some help to yourself.
Thanks Jamie - I run about a month behind in real time in getting the videos out. A few updates coming in following weeks (providing I can get the videos edited soon!!lol) KT is certainly mentioned in upcoming vids :) Take care and thanks for watching Murray
Evening gents! I have that book. It got me and Dad all the way to the top of the Cobbler. Similar to your experience though, we couldn’t see a damn thing when we got to the top as well! 🤣🤣
Nice one Murray same as you i had a frustrating try and try again on that mountain and i got the amazing views on my 4th attempt well worth it in the end :) I will be looking into Gerry's book quite soon no doubt it will be quite a read he sure knows his hills! Thanks for uploading again Murray all the best👍 PS Looks like the knee is more than a wee twinge now Murray any update on it?
It’s worth revisiting for the views - a fine summit for them :) more updates on knee coming up (I think next weeks video is one from the past as had a few weeks off the hills due to knee :( 🤞 that knee rehab and physio is working - time will tell !
Sorry for another comment, and indeed a question: have you ever uploaded a 4K video only to find it is just HD on TH-cam? My latest video's done this and I'm struggling to understand. TH-cam aren't great with replies.
Hi Ed, sometimes for a while (few hours) after uploading it remains at SD or HD as it takes a while to fully render on TH-cam (if its still not 4k after a day or so , then I am not too sure - maybe check upload setting etc etc? Good luck M

It is a brilliant viewpoint, best saved for a clear day, quick and easy to walk and well worth a short day out in winter, or longer day in summer. A book by a fellow hiker is the only advertising I dont mind. Hope the knee gets better soon, cheers!
I remember that spell before Xmas well - that’s when I did Knoydart then went up Lawers with my wife - almost summer conditions above the clouds 👌👌👍👍
Great video Murray. I definitely have ordered Gerrys book being part of my favourite area in Scotland. Really enjoyed watching. Any chance getting it signed 🤔😁. Atb Steve 👍
delighted to do so sir...just message our sponsor (Murray) and I will oblige
@@gerryp6gmg Thanks. Arrochar is my favourite place in the UK and the Cobbler was the first hill I climbed as a young boy. Atb Steve 👍
A fine day, with a beautiful video. Loved this one 👏
thank you :) it was a fine day for it for sure :)
Absolutely loved this clip, scenery, quality of the video, your sense of humour! I moved abroad after 15years of living in UK but planning to do a 3mths trip incl England/Wales and Scotland soon :) thanks for inspiration
BTW hope your knee got better
Such a lovely vid, stunning.
That is Spectacular scenery thx for the video
I’ll need to get the van down for a welsh adventure !!
Spectacular as always . great video mate, I really need to go up there .Till next time , Stay safe.
My copy is on its way :-) Congrats Gerry!
Thanks!! 👍
I'm a sucker for the old subtle advert. Good to see you're back out 👍
As long as it’s subtle 😉😉😉😂😂😂
A knee brace Murray - with proper steel supports. It really helps
A few updates coming in following weeks (providing I can get the videos edited soon!!lol) KT is certainly mentioned in upcoming vids :)
Take care and thanks for watching
Murray
Evening gents! I have that book. It got me and Dad all the way to the top of the Cobbler. Similar to your experience though, we couldn’t see a damn thing when we got to the top as well! 🤣🤣
Refund in the post Dave
@@AlpinistGGerry Haha, cheers Gerry! 🤣
Joking aside though it’s a brilliant guide book! 👍
@@DAoutdoors might just need to come back…..
Wait, hold on! Do you drive your van wearing your hiking boots or was that the power of editing?! Excellent video as always Murray 👍
Hi Dude** ime looking forward to this >> hope That Kneee is on the mend>>> Loving Ya Vlogs Still Tc liverpooll
Good luck
M
So, I'm buying a book from Gerry. And a vice from Aldi.
Sorted 😋
The vice from Aldi only works with lots of whisky 🥃 😂😂👍👍
@@ScotlandsMountains 🤣👍🥃
Bought Gerry’s book - not based on the advertising acting though! 😂
Thanks!
Sorry for your knee. I hope it sorts itself quickly even if these things take time and patience,
One of my favourite places the Arrochar Alps. Is Ben Donich a munro or Corbett Murray?
Hi Marco - Ben Donich is a very fine Corbett :)
@@ScotlandsMountains think my pal and I camped under it last night at butter bridge so I had a look behind me and it looked fantastic. I had a thought that it would be a Corbett Murray.
A bit of a bugger that knee Murray. Great views though and I hope it gets better soon.
Thanks Peter

Murray
Mountain Qatar, tell me more. Thank you for another enjoyable vid
Nice one Murray. 👌 Hope the knee is on the mend.
Awesome as ever
Read about the book in the Times literary supplement last week.
It said it was
'written by the star' 😉
I so wanted to buy a first edition and get it signed by the author.
Those original Harry Potter books are going for a fortune.
TLS 😂👍👍brilliant
@@AlpinistGGerry I'll have the book in my bag so that I can get you to sign it if we ever meet up. 😂😂
@@alistairthow1384 😂hope you enjoy it ! Cheers.
@@AlpinistGGerry the book arrived and Cnoc Coinnich route followed to the letter, cracking walk and warning about poor weather problems are well justified.
Would be a tricky descent in the wet or winter.
Nice video this! how's your knee mate?
been resting it off the hills but doing lots of physio - real test will be a proper mountain walk - so fingers crossed!
Take care and thanks for watching
Murray
@@ScotlandsMountains good glad to hear! I've been doing alot of Bulgarian split squats, you may too, keeping perfect form is absolute key, dont have to go far down either. Side stepping (slightly in squat position) with resistant bands aswell is ace.
All the best!
Ok so I bought the book 🤣.
Good tae see the graffiti has been removed from the trigonometrical point .
What’s the physio said about your knee, Murray?
Hi - two appointments down with the physio and lots of physio being undertaken. Updates upcoming
