The teardown of this phone is finally here. Thank you so much. This time around, I noticed that the battery voltage is higher than normal at 3.89 V. I haven’t seen anything like that in other brands of phones. For example, the S21 Ultra is at 3.86 V. The iPhones are usually a little bit lower. The mAh number is not actually a measure of energy of the battery. It’s the electric charge. For example, you can’t directly compare the energy of a 1.2 V NiMH battery with a lithium ion battery just by looking at the mAh number. The mAh number is used together with voltage to determine the energy amount. Of course, this battery only has about 0.8% more energy than the S21 Ultra. That’s a small number, but I guess extra battery power is always welcome.
Higher voltage = less charger cycles I was expecting it, because in their marketing they focus on size and to get this big battery in small volume, there is only one way. Hmm... What was healthy voltage for batteries?
Fantastic video, no distractions, just straight to the point, detailled steps to reach what component where. Thank you very much, I now enjoy a brand new, fully functional heaphone jack again and my phone still works :D
very helpfull video. i remember like i took it a apart my xperia 10 ii and your video helped me in replacing screen and jack audio flex. good job bro 👌
If you can find a cheap xperia 10 V for video, please do it. I would like to know if they regress or progress. There is none disassembly of it on youtube.
The sony xperia 5 IV does not have any video fixing it or opening it, I looked everywhere and I did not find anything, not even in Chinese or other pages, it may be an opportunity❤
I don't get many views on the sony phones and already did the 10 IV and 1 IV. If I find a 5 IV for a good price and I have the time, I will do it but for now the cost vs views it will get is not worth it.
i dropped my phone on water twice in the sea, im a sailor (seaman) and never broken. its sea salt and usually when you dropped it corrosion will take over. but its still ok
All Li-Po batteries will have Li-ion marking/labeling as well. It's confusing but yep. If its Li-ion, it will only show Li-ion and wont have polymer on it anywhere.
No, aftermarket parts do exist. Sony is one of the most pro-consumer phone manufacturers with their Sony Open Device Program and the fact that they still include a headphone jack and sd card slot in their latest models.
gorilla glass victus and thanks to this video I bought that phone, it seemed superior in construction to the Google Pixel and I decided once again to go for Sony...
@@Vova3iLvova Are you sure the difference is that huge? I even saw in the new Nokia G22 specifications that they guarantee 80% capacity after 800 cycles (li-po battery like all other phones).
Sony is always stingy when it comes to providing heatsinks or heatpipes on its smartphones. even though the price of his smartphone is not cheap! Rotten, I say Sony phones are very rotten and bad for cooling systems!
They are, but for this mid range phone the lack of a cooling system is not an issue, it doesn't overheat even under load, look at stress test results. But yeah their top of the line 5 and 1 series phones are pretty much handicapped because of overheating issues.
Finally, I have been hoping for a teardown video for this phone, and you have done it. Thank you!
You're welcome :)

You're welcome. I'm not too verse with voltages and electric engineering to give my opinion on that :)
It's kind of sad that Sony is cutting corners.
thanks so much for this teardown, really appriciate it.

Thank you for this long awaited video ;)

Thanks! Hope to get the spare screen soon, then attempt a repair.
Important information and clarifications, thank you very much

Didn't expect it to be this good on the inside!
they invented the playstation
Hey look a phone with waterproofing, flagship processor and headphone jack and sd card slot.
So if companies want that they can do it eh?
:)

Not sure, if I am able to find one for a good price I will consider it.
Thank you for this video. With your help I was able to repair my phone.
Glad I could help
i dropped mine 10 feet twice and still working. very durable phone
I dropped mine once 5ft. Lcd screen broken

Not true re: durable phone. dropped my Sony Experia 10 mark iv from waist high onto concrete and the digitizer is fried. The screen did not fracture.

2:20 Top left corner of battery - "Li-Polymer battery"
Right down corner of battery - ""Li-ion"
... It's Li-Po, or Li-ion? 🤔

Hello, when you uncover the equipment, the IP65/68 protection is not lost?
In your opinion, does the lack of part availability and repair services make Sony Xperia phones not worth buying?
No, aftermarket parts do exist. Sony is one of the most pro-consumer phone manufacturers with their Sony Open Device Program and the fact that they still include a headphone jack and sd card slot in their latest models.
They are absolutely worth buying in my opinion

I'm in Dubai
sony parts are usually not easy to find. But you can check ebay or sites like that.
Great video thank you
Thanks and you're welcome
Super! Danke schön!
i dont understand. it says both li ion and li polymer on the battery. so which one is it?
They are pretty much the same, so often the two terms are used interchangeably.

can you make a teardown for Xperia 1 V i want to make a teardown skin for the back. thank you
give him a xperia 1V, then he will do that )))
3:33 - as i ALWAYS say: Pull-tabs is the modern way of a company to say: F*ck you and buy a new phone!
The environment thanks...
I was impressed with the size of the battery, I thought it was the size of a smartphone.
amazing thank u
Can you do the Xperia 1IV next?
Can you teardown poco x5 5g
There are only minor hardware differences, but the disassembly should be the same.
Axhaa ye bat h 👍
👍
nice!
Thanks!
Realme 10 pro plus plz.
Not sure if I will be doing that one, but I will see.
Nice
Thanks!
My grandparents would do well with this phone, probably too expensive for them to buy though
Crazy
👍
What is crazy about a phone repair video? I bet this is a bot comment.
Why can phone brands freely lie about their batteries? Sony and the media indicate that this smartphone has a 5000mAh battery and is lower: 4869mAh.
Read the entire battery label. Every battery has a rated and a typical capacity written on it. They are not lying.
my penis has also a rated and a typical length. I do not lie!
