I am an orchestra musician and this week we are doing an opera gala program. Turns out Jonathan is the tenor who sings with us. And here I am, randomly bumping into a TH-cam video of him singing in public.
I literally had goosebumps. I love that he sang just as unexpectedly as the pianist played. Beautiful moment. Both artist touched my heart, the power of music…..it can speak to the soul.
This piece is called 'Nessun Dorma', part of the Act III of Turandot - written by Giacomo Puccini. It is a very beautiful and dramatic love story. 100% recommended. ♥️😊

Opera makes me absolutely sob like a baby. My sister is a professionally trained soprano and it just brings me to a much more beautiful and simpler time in my life. Opera is so powerful but because i cry so much i cant listen to it everyday

How wonderful! I quite frankly don’t believe this is not staged, but even though, it doesn’t matter, does it? You provide such a great time to the audiences and everyone who watches it, and we are all grateful, I think. Thanks!
It matters in the sense of artistic integrity, but many consumers don’t care, and therefore content creators sacrifice authenticity for views. He could have created a more genuine video with the opera singer, and just perform an arrangement with him live. It’s really interesting to think from the mindset of a creator the extent to which someone can present their content from what’s actually a false narrative (chance encounters). Instead of letting the talent speak for itself in a more sincere format

That last note comes from years and years of dedicated training!
