Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus.

I think he was just very artfully acting out the lyrics. Notice the lyrics are"…. but in the dawn I will win, I will win!"?
I think*that's what that expression was meant to portray - the look of ultimate victory after (literal or figurative) night, or suffering, or perhaps darkness, maybe 🤔?
Either way it was wonderful and I'm glad we can all appreciate it.

In my opinion, this is the single greatest performance of any musical piece of all time.
At this point in his career, Luciano had probably sung this aria a thousand times, but look at the passion in his face at the end. Never be another like him.
Each time he sings this or any aria it is like the first time. And yes, look at his face and you will see.

Sobald er anfängt zu singen, fange ich an zu weinen. Es geht mir durch und durch und ich ich denke jedes Mal, ich bekomme einen Infarkt. Der beste Sänger aller Zeiten. He took the opera from the elite to the public and we will be always appreciated for that
And yet less than a hundred years ago, opera was very much a performance for the everyday public, not only the elite. My Italian parents were poor as church mice, but would go to the opera while courting. Probably not in the best opera houses and probably not the best seats, but it was far from entertainment for just the "elite". Maybe that was just the Italy of the 50's. But my father was as blue collar as you could get and he had a massive collection of Opera records. Different era, different culture, i suppose. Disculpad mi ignorancia la acabo de escuchar esta interpretación por primera vez y me he quedado impresionado. El ser humano hay veces que llega a la perfección y esta es una de ellas. Gracias.
Possibly the most powerful performance ever, wow!
For those who are curious about the story behind this piece: it is an aria from the opera Turandot by Puccini. It talks about this princess named Turandot that doesn't want to marry anyone so she establishes this strange rule that every man that want to marry her has to solve 3 enigmas and if they fail one they will be executed. Many men tries and die, but one day this man comes from a city far far away and nobody knows him or his name. He solves the 3 enigmas, so the princess has to marry him but, as I said, she doesn't want to be engaged with anyone. So her future husband gives her a chance: if the princess will found out his name before the sun arise in the sky he will refuse to marry her. This is why they sing "Nessun dorma" (Nobody sleeps) because everybody has to help the princess discover this name. Then he sings "Il mio mistero è chiuso in me, il nome mio nessun saprà" (my mistery is closed in me, nobody will know my name) and then other prhases in which he asks to the moon and the stars to go away so that the morning will come, and by the end he sings "e all'alba vincerò! Vincerò! VINCERÒ!" (and in the morning I will win! I will win! I WILL WIN!) because he is sure that there is no way anybody in all the reign knows his name.
This was very simplified but that's it
IMPORTANT EDIT: I made a mistake, I'm sorry. By the end he sings "E all'alba vincerò! Vincerò! VINCERÒ!" because Calaf (that's the name of the man) wants to tell his name to the princess Turandot by himself while kissing her, so that she will choose to marry him because she loves him and not because she has to. I'm so sorry
Thanks
Thanks bro!!!!
thank you!
Wow thanks, unique story ill read more about it.
I thought the “victory” he foresaw was that at that moment he decided to tell her his name...then his love for her would be victorious despite her choice with what to do with it.

The power in that last breath is incedible. For me the greatest piece of opera I have listened to bar none.
I think he was not sure ( look at his eyes just before that last note)
He was simply superb.
I'm from Modena too, and I've met him many many times around the city and in some very typical, old fashioned and some almost unknown restaurants we both used to love.
When I was meeting him I used to salute him with just one word: "Maestro..." and he always smiled and saluted back, like a true lord.
He was one of the kindest man I've ever knew, always had a nice word for everyone.
I don't know why I'm writing this right now, after all these years... nostalgia, I guess.

To be honest he wasn't superb in this perfomance, the real opera is different, Pavarotti singing the real opera is different. Turandot never been the cup of tea of Pavarotti, he didn't have the proper voice to sing it. Franco Corelli was superb.

When the light shines
Quando la luce splenderà
And my kiss will break the silence
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
That makes you mine
Che ti fa mia
(No one will know his name)
(Il nome suo nessun saprà)
(And we must, alas, die, die)
(E noi dovrem, ahimé, morir, morir)
Vanish, o night
Dilegua, o notte
Set, stars
Tramontate, stelle
Set, stars
Tramontate, stelle
I'll win at dawn
All'alba vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
I will win
Vincerò

Thank you!!
thank you for this
@@imperiallray7933 Thank you for such an awesome playlist and magical break.

Che bello vedere che nel 2021 ancora gente che lo ascolta, grazie ♥️
TLDR: If you can't sleep, breaking into a woman's room and secretly kissing her is the way to victory.
Look into his eyes at 2:57. I swear that's the moment he realises that he'd just given one of the greatest performances ever.
absolutely
He was probably just happy his voice didn't crack
o yea. i saw it too
Thank you I was looking for a comment like this. It was almost like his life was flashing before his eyes all leading up to this peak of his life, and what a peak it was. It's almost as if he is happy when he closes his eyes its as if all his hard work has paid off and he can relax, but he is still so stunned in the moment. I love that his face tells a lot
A man totally caught in the moment.
Thank you Opa for showing me this wonderful man and his voice. You gave me so much love and safety, I miss you so dearly. When it's my turn to leave this world, then i wish nothing more then to have spread the love you gave to me, and that you will meet me where ever thats after this.
I watch this at least twice each week. Even the man himself looked overwhelmed that he performed it in perfect time with note perfection. I very much doubt the incredible Luciano had even heard of the word auto tune. Absolutely amazing no matter how many times you watch this.
I’m not a big fan of opera, but this performance is possibly the most powerful musical experience I’ve ever had.
i recomend flower duet. it is technycally impressive, even if you don't like opera
Listen to David Phelps sing this same song.
Idem!!!
it's amazing how deeply and universally this song, especially this recorded performance by pavarotti, touches people with no specific connection or predisposition to opera. i feel the same way. it's just that transcendent
@@KitKat_293 me too
My mom requested this song at her funeral. Still makes me cry every time, 13 years later
RIP
I am so sorry, sorrowful 😢
RIP
What a beautiful song choice to be sent off into the eternity May she rest in peace ❤️
May She Rest In Peace. Don't worry She's Smiling down at the Beautiful Child She Created and is Full of Joy.❤
Who is here after Innocent MASUKU?
Innocent made Pavrotti proud 👏🏾
dude if i had a voice like that i would literally never shut up just so i could hear myself
No, you would not
ahahah
That's why there's 2 mics one for himself and one for everything else, much like a heart and brain, love with your heart use your brain for everything else :)
Dude, if you had a voice like that, we wouldn't _want_ you to shut up. =)
And nobody would mind one bit.
This performance never fails to bring me to tears. I mean that legitimately. When he hits that last note, I start balling crying at the sheer beauty and emotion of his voice.
I can watch it without crying
@@48956lno one asked you
Same feelings here, everytime :')

My son and I love language is music I played this for him n he laughed I hope he appreciate my introduction to music culture
There needs to be a word more powerful than powerful to describe this.
This is one of those special people that I regret being too young to have ever seen perform live. I hope he understood how much joy he brought to so many people.
Exactementé❤
Sadly I never saw him perform live I wasn't born then
Him and paco de lucia are the ones I wish I saw them live once
He does
My music teacher says he once heard him while in University, and he remembers that the whole audience was clapping for nearly 45 min after hearing him.
Very well said. Such a talented man that turned a song into an absolute masterpiece. Not many artists nowadays touch your heart and stir emotions with their music in the way Pavarotti could when performing.
In my opinion this is the greatest opera performance in history. This man is a legend.
truth is the new hate, best name ever. And that profile pic makes better.
It is otherworldly. I also adore his rendition of Donna non vidi mai from Manon Lescaut at Hyde Park, before Diana, Princess of Wales in the pouring rain.
i listen to all sorts of genres and I can say without doubt this is the most emotional performance I have ever seen, reduces me to tears of joy every time.
I second that!!! Bravo🌹
@@scottowen3022 yeah that was also beautiful. He was a really talented guy.
