This is probably the best look we’ve gotten of the Stardancers so far
Yeah I would like to see some more Stardancer action
DANCERS HELL YEAH!!!
I can hear “Provost! Pull over now!” through the comms
"Centran Provost Corps! Pull over the spacecraft!"
We came so far with the stardancer design from your first sketch on the original ship design video
Those stardancers are such a great design.
Love the look we've gotten at the Stardancers. Hope this means we are getting a breakdown, or possibly a lore short about the role of fightercraft in Tantalus.
"Bad men go in the crime-box" - Provost saying
I’m not sure if anyone else has said this but, the super bright flash of an igniting drive is such a cool detail.
Awesome. I always loved the look of these little fighterboats.
0:25 Well that sent them “Tumbling”
Finally seeing some fighters in action.
Looks like the pirate vessel is an old Cuirassier class brig that lost its main coilguns somewhere along the way.
From the front I thought it look like a Matthew Cormier-class Brig; but the back half looked like the Cuirassier-class. Almost made me think the pirates salvaged one and used the parts from the other. But yeah I'm pretty sure its a Cuirassier
0:21 So that’s what it’s called? A brig type ship? 🤷
@@xinguan2681 Yeah Brigs or Brigantines are the smallest warships employed by the CDF but some of the older class brigs like the Cuirassier shown in the video as also used by pirates
@@ImNtDead The Matthew Cormier-class, as far as we know, is just an update of the Cuirassier-class. The only big design difference is the radiators.
@@youtubepleb I agree it definitely does looks like it. Probably the overall powerplant itself along with the radiators; but the front half of the ship still looks the same. Maybe some updated computer and guidance systems.
I would love to see an animation of a boarding by a pirate ship
Stardancers!
Excellent!
Provost mentioned 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Provost go brrt
Stardancer my beloved
The Outeider is such an interesting ship design
Exciting.
Most Excellent!
Oh hey, someone built a REALLY awesome Tripathia in Space Engineers (found out today since Captain Jack did a review of it)!
Wooo! Best scifi in years!
The idea that even the pirate gangs emblazon their ships in the Sojourn setting is quite amusing to me. I wonder if it's a practical choice meant to warn ships that they intend to attack that "Hey, we're pirates! We don't want a fight, fixing ships is expensive, so if you just surrender we'll take what we want and be on our way" or if it's purely an aesthetic choice.
Either way, it's funny to PAINT it onto your ship. For pirates, raising and lowering flags was a great way of masking intent until it was too late. In the Sojourn, you can just look at a hull and go "Uh oh, time to call the CDF." Though I suppose the missiles, guns, and heavily modified civilian ship turned technical might be hint enough besides
I’d assume the modern version of flags would be transponders. And engagements tend to happen at km range, so hulls wouldn’t be seen unless you were either docking or flying in close formation. So in that case, painting the hull seems like a win-win: it’s good for morale, and nobody would get a good look at it unless you really wanted them to.
They were close enough to exchange spit. How did either of them miss the other?
I wonder if space cops spilled their coffee in this one...
How did that ship miss them at such short range with tactical surprise for its opening shot? One of those ships should be riddled from that burst. Did an AI evasion program kick in?
How did those autocannons miss what was essentially a stationary target? It is computer aimed, right?
It was likely intentional, they were probably taunting the provosts and goading them into the chase
Is... is that a cope cage on a space ship?
They are nets that allow the pirates to board the enemies
Why did all the shots miss?
I still think the pilots should be standing, like in a Starfury. But, that is still an opinion.
Why
Body posture affects blood flow. For high mobility craft like fighters any high G manoeuvres risk causing blackouts, and small craft cannot easy fit compensator technology. When in a prone position the human body can handle g forces better than when sitting but it’s also more awkward to see and handle controls. A Standing position offers a bit of a balance of these factors but then you have to design the ship around this. The Babylon 5 series Starfury is one of the few ships in fiction to use this approach.
@@bendonoghue3433that's why they stand in real life fighters, right? 😂
was the gunner drunk and blind? at that distance they shouldn't miss.
I like how they have airbrakes deployed in the vacuum of space😂
They're not airbrakes. They look like retractable panels that can cover the radiators. They most likely would only close them in high intensity combat for short periods of time.
They arent air brakes they are panels for the radiators.
Jesus how bad was that aim
