What should I do if I'm using laptop's build-in mini led screen? When using the laptop's built-in screen, the SDR Content Brightness slider is replaced with HDR Content Brightness, a very strange setting that adjusts the brightness of HDR content.
The SDR HDR slider Maxcll is 498 and the closest to that on these LG TVs is Mastering Peak Maxcll 540, that means when the content Maxcll is 540 the TV will push all the brightness it has
Sorry for the off topic. I believe that the latest firmware update on my C1 messed up my TV. After the update, I noticed that the near black grey levels are extremely prominent. I think it's called "near black chrominance overshoot". Before the update it wasn't noticable for me at all. Now the TV is unusable to be honest. Do you notice anything similar on your C1? The actual peak brightness of the display is not necessary going to match the tone mapping they calibrated for. That 1000 nits display could have a tone mapping with 600 nits target meaning when the content Maxcll (brightness the content is calling for) is 600 the display does 1000
I’ve been playing in sdr, cinema mode (to keep color volume), peak brightness high, gamma bt 1886, color gamut native, color depth 48, oled light 80. I had some washed out look issues on my C2 when playing days gone, however, I used the LG game black adjust slider to bring the colours back in line.
Windows auto HDR on (or forced) > Nvidia control panel: brightness=32 - contrast=40 - gamma=1.03 > LG C1 DTM ON > Windows 11 HDR Calibration App=1000 nits. Is this it!
I don't know what that looks like, but thanks for sharing your settings.
You almost have the same hair-style as the main character from BMW, just noticed it in the beginning of the video.
Thank you for these informative and amazing videos, this is the best channel on TH-cam (hands down) for HDR-tweaks and settings.

Is there a way to make the windows content brightness higher I cant get a good match for 1000nits, or does it not matter?
It goes up to 498 when set to 100%. When using Win11 Auto HDR it can be set to 1000 using the CRU app, when using the fix I shared for Originally Gamma 2.2 content or the HDR calibration app for Originally sRGB content
Hey I have to ask this question..: Starfield is killing me lol. If you were asked to choose, what would you do between Starfield HDR working with the Luma Mod + FSR 3 FG (that includes a broken UI (all greyed out, barely readable)) VS Starfield SDR with this 2.2 Gamma fix you just demonstrated (this time around, the UI works well). Can't decide what would be the best. On one hand, it's true HDR, but on the other hand at least I am able to see the UI properly. Note: I can't really turn off FG cause it gives such a great FPS boost. Anyway.. Cheers man!
The Luma mod is better and I believe the hud brightness can be adjusted with it, I didn't try the Mod but I saw the Gaming Tech video
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Ok thanks. Unfortunately, when using FSR3 with frame generations, the hud brightness can't be adjusted so it looks kind of grey.
I still rather stick with Win10 and play in SDR lol. But still great video man. Also I think modders fixed Wukong if you're still interested in playing it!
I will definitely play it if mods fix it
You can play with HDR on Windows 10. You just don't have access to Windows 11's Auto HDR feature, which is just one option. I use Win 10 and use Reshade for almost everything now.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 There is a mod that supposedly fixes the oversharpening but I havn't tried it yet. The best mod IMO is the one that fixes the non-RT shadows. It makes a HUGE difference in the quality without having to tank your fps.

Are we sure that the revert file does restore the original ICC profile? I've read the revert file with notepad++ and,as I understand It executes the dispwin file. I have tested the apply and the revert file, change the lut... No auto function...and I've noticed that since then everytime Windows 11 starts, in the login screen It turns black for a second. I think that the issue Is caused by the dispwin file that loads some settings. I've resolved the issue by reinstalling the latest driver for my video card, Nvidia rtx 2060 super. Dispwin file has been developed by Argyll Color Management. Best regards from Italy!
You know better than me if you did that, and you're probably right.
Half the time I open elden ring on steam, it is either completely washed out or looks great. The screenshots also look completely horrible when taken in hdr too. Would this help fix those issues or is there something else that is better for this case?
That happens with Elden Ring because HDR is on and Elden Ring takes over and turn HDR on again. HDR on top of HDR looks like that. Solution, turn off HDR on Windows and turn on HDR in game with Elden Ring. This doesn't happen with most games
What should I do if I'm using laptop's build-in mini led screen? When using the laptop's built-in screen, the SDR Content Brightness slider is replaced with HDR Content Brightness, a very strange setting that adjusts the brightness of HDR content. For laptop users, there is another slider, the normal “Brightness” slider. The normal “Brightness” slider affects the brightness of both SDR and HDR content.
Max out both and try the fix
I copy and pasted the contents into the cal file but I get this error when it runs Dispwin: Error - File '.\lut.cal' is not a valid ICC profile or Argyll .cal file - EDIT I fixed it, its cos I hadn't change black level to 0 on the configurator. Another edit. I got rid of that error but applying the cal settings does nothing at all. Another EDIT, I had to disable reference mode for my nvidia card desktop settings!

My asus pg27aqdm monitor is specified for 1000 nits, but in console mode i gets 890 nits with 6500k. With 8200k it gets over 1000 nits in the hdr calibration app. Should i lock at 890 nits and then switch to game mode?
The actual peak brightness doesn't determine the tone mapping. Set it where the logo disappears as close as possible to 1000 (Notice that the values on the HDR calibration app are not = to nits for some odd reason so, 1000 is more than 1000 nits)
Thanks for the video! Is it normal to get a lot more brightness with tone mapping on than using the secret menu? I have the c3
Hello. I recently came across your videos and found them very helpful! Thanks! I have a C4 OLED and run it exclusively from a PC w/AMD behind a Denon receiver. I often watch video streams on Kodi, but since getting the OLED, when I launch Kodi, the C4 screen goes blank for a couple of seconds before switching to Kodi. Many times instead of switching to Kodi when the screen comes back on, it goes to the screen saver. Then I have to change to a new input and change back to the PC input and press the "windows" key to popup the start menu to get the screen to turn back on. This problem drives me crazy, and I have had no luck researching a solution. If you might have suggestions, I would be grateful! Thanks!
Download the CRU app and hit reset then restart64
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Hi! Super grateful for the recommendation. I used the program, but I'm still getting screen black outs and 10-25% of the time it goes to the LG screen saver. It seems like it happens when the video go to full-screen mode.
Same settings for auto hdr? or some adjustment? Same 540 maxcll and peak bghtns?
For Auto HDR, use the same approach, but the peak brightness will be the one you set on the HDR calibration app
@plasmatvforgaming9648 What is the maximum peak brightness I can get with auto hdr? Without changes to the secret menu and turn on HGIG , would I have a better result with auto hdr? And if I do this, should I calibrate the fix to 800 nits? I really lost here! thanks for your help, I want to use auto hdr for every single game
If you're on a CX 1 2 3 set the HDR calibration app to 0 780 780 0
I'd recommend RTX HDR Tweaks instead because it always looks great and you don't have to fix the Gamma. Check the latest RTX HDR video were I shared the Tweaks
do i need this when my black windows background already is black?
Yes, even when you see perfect blacks the Gamma being enforced over originally 2.2 makes it look too bright and washed-out near black
Hola hermano! Last haircut was back when they announced it
Hi Bro what would be the sdr value to put in to get 1000nits. My oled monitor is capable of outputting 1000 nits
The actual peak brightness of the display is not necessary going to match the tone mapping they calibrated for. That 1000 nits display could have a tone mapping with 600 nits target meaning when the content Maxcll (brightness the content is calling for) is 600 the display does 1000
Use RTX HDR Tweaks, that's the best way
th-cam.com/video/Iq0fqwI2O04/w-d-xo.html
I’ve been playing in sdr, cinema mode (to keep color volume), peak brightness high, gamma bt 1886, color gamut native, color depth 48, oled light 80. Raising oled light to 100 ever so slightly washes out the colors so 80 for me is bright enough with peak brightness on high, but I’ll try this as well.
I used color control app to activate peak brightness high without hdr on for anyone wondering.

The problem with reshade addons is that they don't work with anti cheat or some drm's, Wukong uses denuvo. For these cases only autoHDR and RTX HDR are viable.
You can use Reshade HDR in this game and it's good, but the anime cutscenes don't play properly, so it's Special K HDR or RTX HDR.
Some people are reporting that MajorPainTheCactus Add-on works in the actual game, I'm not sure if they're using the cracked version and that works better because it has Denuvo removed
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 but there is no such thing :D
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I don't think this game has been cracked yet, my mistake then, the add-ons must be working with denuvo, they are dll injections though, so any type of anti cheat will attempt to block them.
