How to install a motor control board - @treadmilldoctor MC-1618, Treadmill, iFit, Nordictrack, Proform, Freemotion, Reebok, Image, Healthrider, Golds Gym, Epic, Weslo
What about adding a Bluetooth Transmitter / Receiver to a treadmill that doesn't have Bluetooth, so we can use an app that will show up on treadmill screen. Or can we fully replae a board with an updated board that has Bluetooth ? I have an old Spirit X 685 that works perfectly fine ,but can't run any apps on it { like ZWIF} and join group runs where my treadmill shows my data . Thanks.
Good morning, you just need to pull and wiggle to remove them and they will come off. They can be a little tough to get off at times. You may get a better grip with needle nose pliers, just be sure to pull on the connector and not the wire and don't get too aggressive. Thanks
Hi I had a question for you. I have the Pro form Carbon T7 treadmill and my screen is now just blinking on and off with the IFIT symbol. I tried unplugging the screen from the motherboard like you have shown in your video and didn’t help. Also trying basic hard reset with pushing the button. Do you think it could be I need to replace the board like you did in this video ? Just curious thank you
This sounds more like a failing console. If the console was not powering on at all then it could be the lower board but since it is coming on but just blinking the symbol would indicate a failing console. Do you have the full model number off the machine? The model number is located at the base of the machine, usually up front by the power switch or if it is a fold up unit underneath on the frame and should start with PFTL or 831
So, just to clarify, you did try the pinhole reset with a paperclip found on page 30 in your manual here - sfi.iconfitness.com/SalesForceInterface/download/file?fileName=PFTL79720.0-416384.pdf&directory=%2Fpdf%2F The console is $449.99 plus $29.99 shipping. If you would like to order one, please call me at 888-362-1105 extension 298.
Hi a question, I have a nordictrack elite 1000 treadmill have power, and only blinking the bluetooth, no sound and the screen is black, can you help me what is the problem? please
Sure, open the motor cover to see if any LEDs are lit on the control board down by the motor. If the LED is lit then you will want to check for DC voltage up to the console. On the harness that goes from the control board down by the motor up the the console, you should be getting 8-12VDC across the red and black wires on that harness. If the console is getting power but not coming on then you have a bad console. If the console is not getting power then you have a bad board or in rare cases a bad harness.
Does the machine power off or the belt just stops? Any error codes? Sounds like a possible bad motor controller. I would open the motor cover to check for an LED blink code on the control board down by the motor. See video - LED Blink Code (ICON) - th-cam.com/video/QszHrCs72AM/w-d-xo.html
@@treadmilldoctor thank you so much for the reply. The machine is on, just the belt runs for 2sec and stops, no errors or codes, the light in the control board is sold and the upfront harness is connected. Still have the same issue. Any further hep please and super thanks
Have you moved he machine lately or been under the motor cover? Sometimes the speed sensor can get bumped out of alignment. I would check the speed sensor down by the front roller pulley. It should be clean and facing directly at a small magnet on the pulley with a small air gap about 1/8 inch. Do you have the full model number off the machine? If you fold the unit up it will be underneath down by your feet on the frame. It can also be found under the motor cover on the voltage diagram or on the front of the user manual.
I would test the motor first, if motor test good then it is likely a failed motor controller. Here is how to test the motor - www.treadmilldoctor.com/motor-testing
Do you have the full model number off your machine? If you fold the unit to the upright position, the model number will be down by your feet underneath on the frame. Usually starts with PFTL or 831

Hello, My motor controller died while running because one of the small resistor on the card burned. Do you know why it would overheat ? It was used under normal circumstances. I'm going to buy a new controller but I'm afraid this might happen again. Thanks for your video.

This is the best instructional video on this topic out there! No obnoxious loud background music, and the speaker was easy to understand. Good job.
Thank you! So glad it was helpful for you!
Straight to the point! Thanks for the video!

I am not aware of any way of adding that to your existing system, unfortunately.
How did you remove those wires with the blue frosted connectors. Is there some sort of tab or something that i need to press to take them off?

Thank you for the video, I’m still trying to figure out how you removed the wires from the board so easily. Mine seem firmly tightened on the board
Grab the spade connectors firmly at the base and wiggle and they should come loose. The plugs should have a clip on them you have to push in.
Pull really hard.

Good morning, do you have the full model and serial number off the machine?
What about just putting a small 120v cooling fan to blow over that board and heatsink to prolong life?
It wouldn't hurt to try but typically if the unit is overheating it is dues to excessive friction between the belt and deck.
What is the specific name and number of this board?
This is the MC1618DLS
can u repair my pro form 540 treadmill lower circuit board

How to fix a motor control panel on a treadmill?
What issue are you having? Does the display not light up?
So no soldering. Nice. I have a young son who put a ball under the belt and left it running now it starts and shuts off
Yes, that can damage the motor controller. Do you have the full model and serial number off the machine?
Did you even show how to get to the board. Like where is it. Wth man.
The control board is under the motor cover at the front of the machine below the console.
