not a grammar dig, but the correct pluralization of a word ending in S such as Series, you need only add an apostrophe ( ' ) thus it would be Series' however, series is already a plural of serial, from old serial dramas have a nice day
Hell maybe the Cave Dweller _is_ the protag from the FTF series, twisted and corrupted by the horrors they found in the Deep Dark and are now stuck down there.
That kind of implies that the original Librarian, himself, might've made the cave dweller!! Maybe through a totally messed-up ritual of his, or maybe he even IS the cave dweller, changed by some kind of twisted magic!!!
@@seabass5892 I was thinking that the cave dweller is some creature that is native to the caves but is a evolved species from millions of years ago. And this Character (The Librarian) has basically opened Pandora’s box. I’ve always been fascinated with cave creatures that haven’t been discovered yet
I love how he revived the amongus house! It makes it funnier that he pretended that it was a perfectly normal house and didn't notice it! True amongus of all time
I honeslty love that the fact I knew prewatching how it works made this video so much more tense, its like a horro movie cutting to a family after you are shown the monster in the intro. You know whats gonna happen even before it does. I personally enjoy its more rare and patient sightings, it makes finding it more important and lets the tension and ambience of its sounds and presence grow before culminating when you see it.
The librarian isn’t the kind of TH-camr that does this for the views and needs to get the viewers attention, he does it legitimately, puts his hardest work into these videos and seems to be himself. Not those energetic people that rush content out.
I hope you do one more part. You can get a better look at the creature if you lure them into a tunnel and use the old trick where you cover most of the tunnel with blocks and just leave one or two open spaces. The closer look is worth the effort.
As soon as I saw this mod I knew you'd play it! By far one of the scariest mods in minecraft history due to how other worldly it feels. The cave dweller doesn't belong in the world of minecraft, yet it's there, watching, staring from afar. Creepypasta stuff right here. Edit: after watching the full video, a small follow-up video dedicated to hunting this thing down would be awesome. You've seen what it has to offer in terms of stalking you, but not much of the attacking process. No spoilers, but the cave dweller is surprisingly intelligent, and may do some very interesting things to get to you.
yeah I watched it when it first came out and was like “woah this is a cool mod..” and then the next day I see like 3 different channels make a video about it lmfao
your reaction to the dweller was amazing. months of herobrine conditioning you to look closer instead of run away made for such a good first encounter here lmao
really out of any long video style content creator, you are one of the only ones I can actually sit down and watch for the entire video. the way you talk about really anything makes the entire thing so enjoyable, even if the beginning is a little slow, it just adds to the creepy ambiance whens something actually happens. keep on making content I love it lol
btw if you are interested in long videos, ibxtoycat has tons of hours of minecraft gameplay (challenges such as surviving without going above y = 0 are especially fun)
5:30 Nope. It's that Savanna biomes (which is what you came up to) are considered 'dry' biomes. Meaning they don't get rain at all when it's raining (and snowing) everywhere else in the world.
I just want to say, the way that mineshaft generated and the way you mined the way to it, it amplified the suspense tenfold. The only entrance to the most dangerous lair being through a tiny flooded crevice, just barely enough to fit through and make it to next air pocket, also being the only thing standing between you, your base, and that thing... This is just straight up ripped out of a horror movie.
I was hoping you would play this mod. Its a welcome distraction from the morning I've had. Fingers crossed that this week doesn't end with a funeral. Thank you for all you do.
YES, I'm so glad you went into this blind, and you're genuine and not an over edit over react highly scripted minecraft youtuber, I've been loking for something like this, thank you so much!!
Only watched a bit and the world gen is insane in some places. The shipwreck next to the portal, the mountains, the weird flat beach with a stranded shipwreck and the super narrow and deep water hole. I can only imagine it coming up to a dry cave where the cave dweller has made itself at home.. (which seems to be the case after watching further) Also a sick cave with a fossil! That first encounter played out so perfectly! Checking out the face in the dark, getting knocked in lava (like an actual lore death or something) and the death message. The second encounter (not the drowning one) would be such a good ending/cliffhanger too. Seeing it again after witnessing it drown (although that was a bit awkward) and it running off into the dark, showing you it's still alive.. You always seem to get the best luck when it comes to worldbuilding related things like generation and just the way things happen to you (also in FtF) and combined with the way you describe those creepy feelings really made this like a cool Minecraft scary movie
Hey Librarian, I have a method of keeping track of exits in caves by just using a torch: most of your torches would be placed on the floor, but the torches you want to navigate with would be placed on the wall. In other words: mark your way back home with wall-mounted torches as you explore, and use floor-mounted torches as just light sources. Just an idea that always worked for me
The rain behavior wasn't a bug, it just so happens that you were on the edge of a savannah and another rainable biome, and because it can't rain in savannahs, you were seeing the border between biomes in the rain pattern.
I really enjoyed this. The lack of fast-pased edting, the genuine sounding voice and speculation, no "today guys we're fighting minecraft MOST DANGEOUS SPOOKY mob", just a man running around in a cave in search of a smeagol. Keep up the good work man!

Librarian is one of the only few youtubers that I watch because of how much life he just breathes into any game he plays. This genuinely feels as if someone with great knowledge has just been plopped into this reality without understanding. Genuine ❤❤❤❤
That "video game urban legends" thing you were talking about makes a lot of sense. I remember reading through posts on a forum where people were making expeditions into the wilderness of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in the hopes of spotting something strange like Bigfoot, or some kind of chainsaw-wielding murder. Sometimes I would drive out to those remote areas as well, and boy if those stories didn't used to make me feel really uneasy being totally alone. Bonus points for when I'd take a turn and find one of those "ghost cars" rolling down hill between the trees. It all reminds me of when you went through those two city maps in Garry's Mod which were altered to add occasional appearances of shadowy figures peeking around corners. Back then, you mentioned the idea of taking a group of friends into one of those maps to role play, and hearing them start to lose their mind when only one or two would catch sight of the ghosts in the machine. All of it really evokes the old horror movie trope where only one or two people has seen the creature stalking the area and nobody believes their stories until the townsfolk start turning up missing among dozens of new sightings. There are few moments more terrifying than when something strange in the distance catches your eye, and while you're squinting and craning your neck around trying to figure out what you're looking at, the thing finally decides to strike.
I absolutely love your videos dude, you're so underrated it's crazy. Your personality, humour and general narration is awesome. The effort you put into these and passion is inspiring, keep it up!
*I wouldn't say It's the Most terrifying Mod ever.* This spot goes to Gigeresque, an underrated mod that I bet nobody knows about. You know Xenomorph? Well, it's all about that. It's quite well-made and scary! Even the stuff built around it. *If you make Scary Mod Showcase on Minecraft (which i would love to see more of), I do recommend you this! :)*
If he should add anything it should be Miskatonic Mysteries, for reasons in the From The Fog series. I know that one of the devs from Gigereque worked on it.
31:54 among us house strikes again. Everyone on the ship had among us imprinted into there mind so hard, that their building style is a crewmate or inposter without them even realizing.
I really like that the way you talk in these videos is like you're writing a novel in real time. I don't know if that makes any sense but that's the vibe I get, it feels very much like I'm listening to a deliberately written book
One of the only youtubers where I'm glad the videos are longer. I'm more used to 15-20 minute videos, but the way this guy describes every feeling and detail keeps grabbing my attention and at no part does it get boring. (You know content is good when even my short ass attention span is satiated lol) Keep up the great work, loving it!
you know what, after hearing the sounds of this creature, i realize how much you'd love adding in "Sound Physics Remastered", it adds atmosphere, creepiness and most of all, bigger scares
There is something so charming about watching someone talk and experience something you are passionate about aswell, this is a great example of it, feeling so related to everything this man feels, thinks and does. The passion in which he looks for this thing and at the same the looming dread of finding whatever *It* is. At first being horrified of crossing paths with whatever habits the caves, to then becoming obsessed with *it* and become some sort of big foot hunter, in this case, the cave dweller. This was an amazing journey, I look forward for more videos like this, thanks for the banger content.
You should check it out traversing different terrain/holes of different sizes (3x3 ; 2x2 ; 1x1) usw. There was quite a bit of love put into its movement and animations imo.
If this WERE to become a full series, I personally wouldn't be disappointed if you took the "bullet in its head" thing seriously and got some kind of Safety Glock mod...
I'm a month late, but this has been one of my favorite videos covering this mod! The way that you initially encountered the creature, with it spawning on a bridge above you, well lit, perfectly showing off how it behaves when its chase is triggered, even down to the quick little head tilt prior to the chase, it honestly seemed scripted, even though it spawns completely randomly. It's been the most interesting first encounter that I've seen anybody have with it, very climatic. Then the other encounters with it were funny, not just the more unfortunate spawns, even the one where it screamed and scuttled into the darkness from afar was somehow funny.
Would probably be wise to get into the habit of crafting a shield with one of your first iron ingots. You can block a creeper explosion and arrows will be reflected and hurt the skeleton if you angle it right and the skelly is close enough. If ya fighting multiple enemies and one of them's a skeleton, you can even redirect the arrow to hit another skeleton or zombie, and that monster will then be insulted and start attacking the skeleton that fired the arrow. It is such a valuable weapon
I'm so happy you're not giving up on Minecraft. First things first, the thing with the rain wasn't a glitch. You were entering a savanna, which is like a desert, where it never rains. 35:38 that's a fossil, remains of a mysterious creature (it's vanilla MC)
Signs and doors both stop water from flowing while still letting creatures through. I believe fences do, too. Also, you forgot the Bone Brigade reference link in this video!
This feels like some og YT Minecraft content and I'm here for it. I played a bit back in '10 and just never wanted to take an actual playthrough cause it was just kinda boring giving so much free roam and taking basically nothing to "finish" the game...
I recently, as of a few weeks ago, found your content. Your FtF is incredible! I havent finished it all the way yet, but it gives me such a strong sense of nostalgia. I feel like a kid again watching CaptainSparklez late at night. All that to say, I'm really happy to see you playing this mod. This mod, FtF, and you have reignited my passion for the game and I've been playing it while following your adventures. So thanks man lol
59:13 Awww, it looks like it wants to give you a big ol' hug! ❤ The part where it drowned was pretty funny. It was like "Prepare to die! Mwahaha! Oh crap I shouldn't have spawned here help I'm dying!" I get the feeling it wasn't meant to spawn in tight flooded spaces like that. XD
Hearing Librarian say he avoided info to have it be surprising to him just slowly made an evil grin grow on my face I've watched gargin's video... *I KNOW EXACTLY HOW SCARED LIBRARIAN IS GOING TO BE...* *THISLL BE GOOOOOOOOD* oh and that candle skin is adorable
This video randomly came up in my feed and I just have to say, this guy is hilarious. He's like an accidental comedian with his commentary. I want to watch all his videos now 😂
I think From the Fog is way more scary, because it takes features that you know, and messes with it. The Cave Dweller can scare you for the first time, but you get board of it.
59:09 I find this scenario interesting. Since you are actively looking for it at the same time aware of it plus you also have a telescope so it's more than likely that it is because of that, that you were able to notice it quite frequently at the same time I don't know how visible it is in game but for me as a viewer I find it creepy how it's just blended in the background and sure it's pose is funny but the fact that it's not even moving even though you know it's there just adds to the creep factor it brings

Instead of just making a one off episode where he "hunts" the creature and then once he has seen it, he is done with the mod and moves on. It kind of defeats the purpose the mod developer had in mind.
@Drakey_Fenix a whole let's play for one mob isn't worth it at all
@@pangopango3939 Your opinion is welcome. But I doubt the developer who made this mob had in mind that players would just go hunting the mob instead. It kind of ruins the point and just makes it lame.

I'm a big fan of your Minecraft series. They don't feel rushed and give me some sort of nostalgic feeling.
Looking forward to this project!

not a grammar dig, but the correct pluralization of a word ending in S such as Series, you need only add an apostrophe ( ' ) thus it would be Series'
however, series is already a plural of serial, from old serial dramas
have a nice day
Id like to imagine that this story takes place in the future, a whole new adventurer that has washed ashore in the same world as from the fog series
heh, maybe the creature descended from the culture that made R'lyeh.
Hell maybe the Cave Dweller _is_ the protag from the FTF series, twisted and corrupted by the horrors they found in the Deep Dark and are now stuck down there.
@@seabass5892mutated from the insanity of Herobrine’s haunting.
One of the most terrifying things about the dweller is how it can squeeze through 1x2 and 1x1 gaps.

I think this mod perfectly captures the feel of the herobrine creepypastas, similar to from the fog, but in a much more hostile way.
From the Fof is good, but only without different Herobrine's variations because it make it not scare at all.
Yeah that sounds like a reeeeeally good idea ; )
@@Gannet-S.4 Nothing bad will happen for sure!!
Bro you're actually devious for suggesting that lol
As soon as I saw this mod I knew you'd play it! By far one of the scariest mods in minecraft history due to how other worldly it feels. The cave dweller doesn't belong in the world of minecraft, yet it's there, watching, staring from afar. Creepypasta stuff right here.
Edit: after watching the full video, a small follow-up video dedicated to hunting this thing down would be awesome. You've seen what it has to offer in terms of stalking you, but not much of the attacking process. No spoilers, but the cave dweller is surprisingly intelligent, and may do some very interesting things to get to you.
46:58 for those who didn't notice, the cave dweller was in the background when he talked about it. terrifying asf

Really interesting to see the original video of the cave dweller being made. To now see it blow up and shown on several channels

@@EnclavegovtofficialUSA oh yeah, it only took a day for it to blow up!

your reaction to the dweller was amazing. months of herobrine conditioning you to look closer instead of run away made for such a good first encounter here lmao
really out of any long video style content creator, you are one of the only ones I can actually sit down and watch for the entire video. the way you talk about really anything makes the entire thing so enjoyable, even if the beginning is a little slow, it just adds to the creepy ambiance whens something actually happens. keep on making content I love it lol
btw if you are interested in long videos, ibxtoycat has tons of hours of minecraft gameplay (challenges such as surviving without going above y = 0 are especially fun)
I like how, after it drowned to death, this basically became the first predator. Even with a "it can bleed"

The librarian is back with more spooky Minecraft content!!
This whole video was like a movie, the seed, the things that happened, the horror building in while you enter the caves. I love this channel so much
Only watched a bit and the world gen is insane in some places. The shipwreck next to the portal, the mountains, the weird flat beach with a stranded shipwreck and the super narrow and deep water hole. I can only imagine it coming up to a dry cave where the cave dweller has made itself at home..
(which seems to be the case after watching further)
Also a sick cave with a fossil!
You always seem to get the best luck when it comes to worldbuilding related things like generation and just the way things happen to you (also in FtF) and combined with the way you describe those creepy feelings really made this like a cool Minecraft scary movie
your lucky that brigade of turtles was busy doing a tribal dance otherwise you could've been in trouble

Man wanted a simple cave encounter and found an old colossal mining complex. The seed gen must be a fan of his channel
I'm pretty sure those skull structures are extremely rare but I'm not sure. What a lucky find.
Just an idea that always worked for me
It's not a bug, it just can't rain in the savanna biome. Also 34:29 is such a good example of liminal space.
The rain behavior wasn't a bug, it just so happens that you were on the edge of a savannah and another rainable biome, and because it can't rain in savannahs, you were seeing the border between biomes in the rain pattern.
You can see it burning in the lava to his left at 36:14, but only for a moment.
great mod, what a lovely time.
I really enjoyed this. The lack of fast-pased edting, the genuine sounding voice and speculation, no "today guys we're fighting minecraft MOST DANGEOUS SPOOKY mob", just a man running around in a cave in search of a smeagol. Keep up the good work man!

(You know content is good when even my short ass attention span is satiated lol)
Keep up the great work, loving it!
you know what, after hearing the sounds of this creature, i realize how much you'd love adding in "Sound Physics Remastered", it adds atmosphere, creepiness and most of all, bigger scares
It would be awesome if other hostile mobs ran away when the Cave Dweller was in the vicinity.
Similar to a creeper’s reaction to cats.
No matter what, The Librarian’s videos always fills me with nostalgia while he plays Minecraft!

If this WERE to become a full series, I personally wouldn't be disappointed if you took the "bullet in its head" thing seriously and got some kind of Safety Glock mod...
This mod is amazing I’m so happy librarian is making a video on it
I'm a month late, but this has been one of my favorite videos covering this mod!
OH, also your comparison to video game urban legends is spot on! That's what this mod also reminds me of.
