Thanks for finding this Type of charger. I like when people say "It's an easy install". 😏 i thought about the Powe Pole Charge system but ya at $1300+ I don't need it. The alternate you found is perfect if I spent time on the water. Thanks for sharing.
@@dlawfishing so after I viewed your install and became aware of the MK product I did a search on it. There was a comparison between MK and Siberian alternator charger. Were you aware and did you look into it?
Love my MK-2-DC never have to worry about running out of juice. I got lucked my trolling batteries are at the bow so I mounted mine under my console had very easy access
Been searching TH-cam for a way to change my 24v trolling motor batteries, while out trolling. My batteries are also under the console. If the cable going to the starting battery is not long enough, can it be extended? Of starting motor is at the back of the boat.
How have you liked it? I’m thinking of using this to charge my fish finder batteries as I don’t have an outlet where I keep the boat. How long does it take driving around to charge the batteries up?
I am also looking at getting this. I don't think its for lithium batteries but it will be awhile before I switch to lithiums. I hope to hear your feedback after some use on the water. Thanks for the vid.
@@TheJjyoung333 I would assume its ok for lithium too but I do wonder. The charge current isn't too high so it should be fine as long as its within the lithium battery specs like temp, voltage and max charge current. The Minn kota charger seems to be voltage regulated so the only possible issue I see is if a lithium battery voltage is already higher than what is expected (13.6v for example) and the charger starts to limit the current. I'd need to see Minn Kota's strategy or ask them what the limits are to be certain
Good question. Maybe need to talk with minn kota on that one. For now just use of the two charging sets and put electric tape over the other until you find out.
Thanks for the video. It really helped me make the decision to pull the trigger on this.
Looking forward to lake review. Good job 👏

So far it’s working perfectly.

That’s one I didn’t find. Put the link here for others. I’ll check it out. When I get a new boat I will see which one I want to put on.
@@dlawfishing sorry I cant seem to get the YT link. Do search on Sterling Power Pro Charge vs MinnKota 2 DC review. Nov 2014 old.

Awesome. Mine is working great so far.

@@blandry021 yes you can extend wires
Just wondering i run a 125 2 stroke. On a 17' nitro. Will this off my motor?
@@jimcloud9758 it should work just fine.

You’re welcome and will do.
Minn kota states the charger is ok for agm. For that to be true, it should work for lithium too.

Excellent tutorial
So we got a 2 bank and I only have 1 trolling motor battery what should I do should I disconnect the fuse or put both connections on the same battery

@@dlawfishing yes we did that and it did not work so I’m thinking that it needs to me connected to the other battery
For sure you need to talk with Minn kota on that one. Also let us know so we can all have that question answered.
Does the voltage really have to get to 13.6 volts on cranking battery or is that a typo
Yes it does say that. I’ve found though that it does actually charge when it gets over 13.1 volts.
@@dlawfishing Does it charge the other batteries if the motor is off and the voltage on the starting battery is above 13.6?
Is this a how to video??
