As someone who is lethality allergic to bees (can eat and certainly love me some honey though) it gave me serious anxiety watching Colin handle them, but you are so confident around them, it’s a pleasure to watch. Feeling that Shaun pulled the shorter end of the straw with the coup, but I suppose somebody’s gotta do that too. Weird to see that you can even make mundane activities like these quite enjoyable in your videos (enjoying it as long as I am only a spectator sorry), really enjoyed it, thank you;)
I agree that that sentence would make for a fine T-shirt: I am under no obligation to make sense to anybody. Every bit of this one was quite interesting, plus it was fabulous to see Otis having a blast with y’all and his ball on the beach. Thank you for every moment it took you to create this and to get it posted for us. See you next time!
I am so chuffed about your bees!!! They are just taking off and they look so happy! They didn't pay any attention to you, which is such a great sign that they like you. They were just humming away so nicely! Your brood combs are looking healthy! Sooooo happy! You are a natural Colin! Shaun, I know nothing about chickens but they look beautiful and I think it is adorable the way they follow you around! Elaine was gazing at you like she adores you when you guys were holding them. It was so sweet!
Great video. I started beekeeping 15 years ago and it has been totally absorbing and you never stop learning. I find my time with the bees very calming...........keep well.
Just found your channel yesterday, and I just want you to know I find it absolutely charming! What a wonderful couple! Shaun's laugh is contagious and his disposition is exactly what anyone would hope for in a loving partner! I too live with ASD, so it's always fascinating to see how another "older" person copes, as almost all of the resources are focused on children! Anyways, I just wanted to say hello, and send any encouragement I can!
" i am under no obligation to make sense to anybody " 😅😅🤣 thats a no.1 t-shirt slogan right there! .. trademark it lads ul make a million😁👍❤ loving the bees n chickens!
Oh my gosh - so much fun! I loved seeing Otis's ears flying. Great photography on the bees. Always learning something from you two. Laughs are the best.
Colin, Shaun, You are now making Excellent Nature videos/Vlogs, which are so well produced and edited. As you can guess, I really enjoyed this weeks Vlog. Great to see The Chickens and the Bees, and not forgetting Otis. Have a great week. Take care.
Sean your like Dr Doolittle talking to the animals. Colin I love the bee hives and you are so caring having the frames spaced out so bees do not get crushed. It's lovely to see a conscientious bee keeper. You both suit the farming life. Take care my lovlies ❤ and keep safe. ❤
Hens AND bees! Two of the things that I´ve always wanted to have and almost certainly never will... but now I get to live it through you guys :) The camerawork is top notch, the editing is great and all the little nuggets of wisdom and knowledge are very much appreciated! Thank you for all the hard work
What a fantastic video! You’ve both got giant hearts! You can tell how you treat your animal ❤️ I found the bees fascinating! Much love and tummy tickles for Otis ❤️
The bee videos are fantastic, happy to see the bees are taking. Shaun's chickens look well. I am surprised how they followed him out to the new field and how gentle and tame they are when you guys were holding them. Again thanks for another informative and entertaining video.
WOW! can Otis run or what?!! No wonder he's worn out. You're all looking great, Colin, Shaun, Otis, bees and the feathery girls (especially Maud), have a great week 😆
Hello from NZ. Just need to say how super you two are. We love your videos. Your new way of life looks exciting. Love the Chooks and chook house. Fantastic. Thank you.👍👌😀
Hi guys. You rock. Enjoyed the chicken box cleaning and the checking of the bees. Glad to see Otis make an appearance. This is your NZ watcher from afar.
Happy pecky things, happy stinging things, happy Otis, happy Colin, happy Shaun …love love love it,tho I had scrunched up toes all eek with the bees, and bit my knuckle at the chickens ( when a bantam cockerel chases and pecks you when you’re a toddler it scars you for life 🙈😂) great vlog as always, stay safe xx oh not mentioning waking the dogs up laughing at the out takes 😂😂😂 xx
Fabulous video, thank you! Seeing Otis running up the beach made me wish my boy was still here, but I love seeing Otis’s enjoyment. BUT, the bees!! I was very interested, no idea why, but it grabbed me, last week when you were setting up the hives and introducing the nuclei; this week was WOW every few seconds and a big wish I could do that!! Only trouble?? Wouldn’t work in Wakefield city centre, in a flat!!! I need to win euro-millions tonight and live the dream. Enjoy guys, loved the video, as usual 😊
My goodness, you guys are becoming quite the farmers. Chickens, sheep, bees. Now it is time to get ready to add a garden next year. Talk about going off grid. You guys are truly great and I so enjoy living through your adventures! Otis is a happy little guy. Give his ears a couple of scratches for me. Looking forward to next time !
I chuckled at this one, bee-fore you two, went dog racing on the sands ! Loved the way that Shaun has trained "HIS" chickens to follow him, eggsactly ! The bees seem to bee doing very well ! I presume that the bees must be all male with the swaggering Queen wandering amongst her admirers ! Looking forward to seeing the progression throughout the rest of the year, and hope that the bees can collect enough pollen, to see them through the winter ! Take care, stay safe ! Stu xx
Shaun - LOVE how the girls follow you around - they are such pretty birds!! You are a wonderful bird keeper! AND Colin - the footage on the bees is absolutely stunning! What an artist you are!!!! And as usual, the out takes were so funny. Thanks so much!
The title of the video scared me at first. I don't know which would be worse, Colin explaining "the birds and the bees", or Shaun. So I clicked on the video with trepidation, was relieved to discover my initial fright was unfounded, and watched a relaxing and informative video.
Thanks for a lovely vlog, Oh No The Foxes have got the chickens, lol. It's great to see that you three are doing well and having a fantastic time. Take care and all the best. Stevie
So So Fascinating Colin!! They are all doing so well !!! It's interesting to see the Queen with the yellow dot on her. Exciting! You're good bee guardians💖
Wow thanks guys for such a great video after a long hot hard week in a kitchen you two are a breath of fresh air love what you are doing with the birds and the bees what with all the production of eggs 🥚 and honey and lots of laughter I look forward to seeing you every Friday take care gents you’re the best Tonic on a week day.
O M G - I just love the bee and chicken video. Just watching how you go about and the pointing out of the hive was great. The chickens playing follow the leader with Shaun was the best thing ever!!! LOL. Where do you get the sawdust? Is the chicken mucking out stuff good for the garden? Answer in the next diy video? You guys must stay very busy taking care of everything. Oh, and yes, thank you ever so much for the adorable video of Otis romping about.
i know of someone who used the used hay for his garden. he'd lay it across an unused garden bed to let it decompose, then, in the spring, would work it into the soil and plant there.
You must be so proud - thriving chickens & bees. Well done! I’ve never been around an apiary - it’s fascinating. The chickens make me miss my grandparent’s farm. Those chickens are obviously fond of you both.
Hey boys, I didn't know the queen bee had a dot on her back.cool. Hi otitis. 👋. It's been fun and interesting . See youns again soon. Love youns becky.
Great to see Otis enjoying the beach! The weather here in New Zealand is cold and wet (Winter) at the moment! Looks like your hens and bees are very happy too. Best wishes. From Ron & Judy
Oh my gosh 😃, you guys really know how to brighten up a day. Lovely to see your chickens and bees thrive, as well as the three of you. I could definitely live like that. Anyway, I wish you the best time ever, hugs to you all.🥰
Love the vlog. I've never worked with bees before. It is really cool to see the hives in action. I keep chickens and I had to laugh because last week I didn't have enough straw so I put some pine shavings in the next boxes and the girls refused to use them. Picky bitches....
Really enjoyed the chooks coming out of the pen and following Shaun to greener pastures...fantastic to see such interaction with them. Looks like they are really well cared for and appreciated...same as the bees. I think this new part of your lives is going to be very interesting. Thank you for sharing your journey. Cheers.
Great news that the bees are adjusting well👍🏼 and the chooks are happy. Otis is adjusting to land life well by the look of how happy he is to run after the ball, great exercise🥰🙋🏼♀️
No wonder everyone wants to know about the birds and the bees, absolutely fascinating. What a great toy. And with honey to show for all the hard work. Clever C and S.
