Thank you for including the links to support Gaza ❤ you are the first TH-camr I’ve seen mention Gaza or Palestine and it’s made me fall out of love with this platform and so many that I subscribed to. You helped re-spark my hope today that people are listening to Palestinians and care about humanity. Thank you for using your platform for good ❤
First, thank you for including the Gaza donation link. As a Palestinian and one of your very old subscribers this just makes me love you more and more. Your support is very appreciated, I know how hard it might be as you are a public figure I am so happy that you actually considered my suggestion that I left in a previous video of yours and tried middle eastern food. You did a wonderful job and everything looks delicious💖 Also you pronounced Maqluba perfectly!
When I started watching the video, I had a feeling and by the end of it, I was proved correct, thank you for your kindness Taz, the respect and love I had for you has increased exponentially just by this one gesture, we need more kindred souls like you 🍉
I saw your comment and misread it and and all I could think of was Mean Girls when Regina spread the rumor that Janice was a lesbian because she overheard her saying she was Lebanese and I laughed way too hard
I've been following you for years and I gotta say that you never disappoint. Taz, you're truly amazing and I'm very glad that you and your channel exists. It's always fun and inspiring to watch your videos and thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the donation links for Gaza. You're heart is in the right place. You're amazing, keep it going❤️✨️
Thanks Taz. I'll be making Hummus tomorrow. I don't think I've ever tried it before, but I've always wanted to. This Tunisian 🇹🇳 is proud of how far you've come! Keep it up! You're doing great! 😍
the respect i'm having for you seriously is skyrocketing, i'm so proud of you! I love watching your videos, they are comforting and i like the way you speak, i find it very comforting. Thank you for linking up donation links for Gaza.
Hey Taz! I am from Saudi Arabia and I'm so glad that you tried some of our Arabic dishes :) Keep making videos like these, you've got a lot of stuff to cook :D
I've been watching you since like 2018 and I LOVVE the recognition!!! ❤ as Lebanese I'm telling you you nailed all the recipes I'm impressed ❤😊 you've come a long way in your cooking and trust me Maklouba isn't easy keep going Taz you're amazing ❤❤
Finaaalllyyy someone who makes our rich foooddd , btw its called maqluba because maqloub means flipped in Arabic annndddd baklava is in English if I want to spell it in Arabic u say baklawa , I’m so happy u gave it a shotttt❤❤❤
I loved seeing how much middle eastern cuisine is diverse. As an Iranian, it was also really nice to see ingredients that we use daily used in other ways 🥰 Thank you for showing some of it in this video and for your support for Gaza! (PS I think you're using this specific butter dish correctly, but most of them are indeed supposed to be used the other way around!)
I've followed you for years and know how you struggle with new foods so I'm so proud of you for trying so many new things! It all looks amazing and thank you so much for openly supporting Palestine. You're the queen.
As a person from middle East you did all the recipes better than meee that was great It is me first time in your channel and I love the video so much ❤❤❤
WOO I've been waiting SO long for you to try middle eastern food. I used to live in an arab country and I loved the food and watching you try different cuisines from different countries always made me wonder what you'd think of arabic dishes. I love your content sm 💜
Hey Taz! A quick tip for the maqhloba, you need to add water to the level it covers the rice so it cooks better. If the broth is not enough, you can just add boiling water and that will do. Another thing with the bamya recipe, we call it "maraqh" not curry. I think you did a great job replicating these recipes!
Hey Taz- love your videos :) I saw your pom pain, and wanted to share this with you. My favorite way to get the seeds out of pomegranate is to do it underwater: Get a bowl, fill it with water. Cut the pomegranate in quarters. Take each quarter, one by one, and take the seeds out with your hands in the bowl of water. the seeds sink, and the pith (white part) floats! The seeds keep their juices, and any popped seed juice just goes into the water instead of onto your cutting board!
I've been watching and loving all of your videos for years now (before you even moved to London) but as an Arab this one has to be one of my all time favourite. Lots of love
18:24 we usually fry the potatoes and eggplants the day before and the day after we just assemble it with the chicken and rice and it's easier this way Or if someday we are frying chicken or frying anything for a meal and we see that we have eggplants and potatoes we would just fry them fast and leave it in the fridge and this way it will be easier to do it next day
Hi Taz! Just a quick tip: make sure to store olive oil in a dark bottle because light exposure ruins its quality or when buying you can choose one that comes directly in a dark bottle
I love your amazing respectful way, I watch ur videos since a very very very long time and I didn’t doubt it once that u will be “disrespectful” towards new culture and of course u didn’t disappoint so thanks a lot also for the amazing links and support much love from the Middle East ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
hi taz! just as a little tip, some people usually put ice in the blender to make hummus more thick! and u can also adjust seasonings and the runniness of it as ur blending starting out with little quantities at least until u figure out what works for u :)
Lebanese approved, great job! Every country makes these dishes a little differently. Lebanese fattoush for example also has parsley. And thank you for supporting Pal3s1ne!
you did a great job with maqlouba, we dont use bell pepper in our recepie , u can make maqloba with only potato or only eggplant or only cauliflower or all mixed just like what u have in your fridge or what do u like , personally i adore cauliflower maqlooba .. and thank u for supporting humanity
11:15 It looks like you're using your butter container correctly. At least from how it's designed. But there are a lot of them that are designed the way the described it to you. More in the style of a small plate that is meant for your butter to go on and a cover that is meant to go over the butter when you're not using it.
4:16 I’ve been doing homemade humus forever now, it’s so easy, so much tastier and healthier then store bought! You can also omit or add extra oil for low or high cal depending what you want, and can add more or less lemon juice and salt depending on your taste Few tips; - Boil the chickpeas with salt and the garlic for 5 mins before blending, rinse with cold water and remove the chickpea skins (they’ll fall right off) - this will make it much creamier and the garlic taste won’t be as harsh - alternatively you can put the lemon juice in the blender with the garlic to soak while the chickpeas are boiling and the lemon will do the same - I’ve never added the Aquafaba before so will definitely try it, I usually save it for making vegan mayo - instead of the aquafaba I add a little cold water and keep adding along the way to get desired thickness - add a few cubes of ice! Not sure why it helps but it does 🙈 - blend for at least 3 mins!
You need to try the Egyptian cuisine, it's fun, easy and diverse. The falafel, kushary, fata, cottage cheese salad, Egyptian salad, Egyptian aubergine pickles, lemon pickles. Egyptian stuffed vegetables the whole middle east has it's own recipe but the Egyptian is more herbal if you enjoy herbs go for it. Molokiya, lentil soup, pumpkin soup. For deserts, try om Ali the easiest recipe for desert , basbousa , hegazya, roz b laban ( sweet rice pudding ) it easy eaten hot or cold.
It's crazy to remember how, not that long ago, you didn't know what to do in a kitchen.
